Part of me thinks that maybe Jari and Wintersun are out of ideas/out of motivation to ever do anything real with music again, and maybe they just don't know how to say it, or they're afraid to admit they're nothing but a "has been." I get that sometimes with age we lose motivation and lose the love of things that used to bring us joy, but at least be open about it if that's the case. It's one thing to say, "we're working on new music," but it's another thing to say, "We're working on the best material ever" and then completely disregard it, taunt fans with the idea of it, and then release a mediocre album leading to thinking that the "super awesome album" being hyped up probably isn't so awesome after all. After this wait, there's no way that any material, no matter how good, will ever live up to anything the fans expect. I say this as someone who nearly worships the debut album as my favorite album of all time, it's just sad to see what was once my favorite act in all of metal turn into that 40 year old guy who only brags about what he did in highschool every time you talk to him. Whether or not they ever release anything of note again, I'm at least happy to revisit the debut when i can. Maybe Wintersun will be a case of lightning captured in a bottle one time, and although that idea is disappointing, I'm still grateful for the albums they did give us.

Jari gave an update on the progress on Facebook some time ago. But I agree, most fans care about the music, not the podcasts with hours and hours of rambling of “who’s most likely to” kind of topics that they have been posting.

I heard the podcast episode - it was episode 13, wasn't it? But even that was a ride. Bad mic-quality with Jukka and Jari, no time stamps to skip the things I don't want to know. It's just too semi professional made to even pay money for that. Not even a podcast imo but 4 dudes having a Skype conference. And all these little things come together and make me loose interest in the band. But every listening to the prev albums is like taking a big sip of copeium that makes me come back again. And a structured HD Video with updates on music would prevent loosing interest in one of THE NAMES in metal

@@nerfherder4444 I think its a battle against Being an "Artist" and making a living. Jari spent soo much time making music he forgot to live life. And now he is trying to build a brand around the one thing he has. Like a EU version of Ola. I honestly think once things fall into place with that ( if it does ). Wintersun will be in place to make music again. Theres no way Jari isnt having fun writing new riffs when he is playing at home. He prob hasnt brought it all together to make anything new.

I can confirm it's bad tension. Arab guy got fired for " not seeming eye to eye". Probably the guy was tired of doing nothing, he wanted to be productive so Mr perkele fired him lol

Jari seems like quite an odd/eccentric guy. I'm sure he's extremely quirky and probably can be socially awkward to be around. I just get that vibe. He's probably incredibly nice and enthusiastic, but I could see if being off putting to some personality types. He's a musical genius, so it's no surprise he would be a bit odd.

@@ravenwda007 lol im done sending Jari money after he was complaining about not being about to use a PC to record. And that he needed an apple (which are objectively worse if you know anything about computers) to actually work. Ill support any live shows or recorded material. Along with my heaps of merch.
