I also think that there is really good music education in Finland. All study and play some music in school and also there is music conservatory system which is quite cheap and you can study all kinds of styles like classical, pop/rock, folk, jazz and even metal.

Sadly there aren't many (if any lol) good live recordings. I recommend "Storm" and "The Way of the Fire" (Ultimate version) from the channel WintersunExtras. These are audio only and the quality is far from perfect (most of the layers and intricacies get lost or are hard to make out at best) , but even with those shortcomings those songs are so ridiculously good that I find myself listening to them over and over again. Can't wait for a high quality studio recording for these two! Hurry up Jari goddammit 😉

The secret of the Finnish water is that there's less in it. Less that doesn't belong there. But the challenge in that is increasing also in Finland. Yeah, it's a saying - but I just liked to take that dry approach to it. The humour type is often used in Finland. So a taste of Finland for you in another dish :) But the secret in the music... is between the ears, it's the mentality. People with Finnish roots who have migrated elsewhere produce mostly that elsewhere. Though some saunas and pullas they usually have kept, + some songs. But like American Finns who have made their sings with their Finnish which is american accented, speak of the land or that borough, usually. Finns are prone to practicality. Yet gathered in masses, like in the home country, the poetic part has its space too. And until space it seems to soar. Long winter nights bring the space close, and the exotic, poetic Northern Lights. Listen to this with a video of a winter scenery showing the Northern Lights - Aurora Borealis, and think it's cold there. You want to stay in, wm in a wooden cabin, but your mind is flying out there with the stars and the lights in the sky, space. And you'll also hear the sounds of winter outside: wind, sifting snow, dropping snow lumps, crack of a tree split in the cold, maybe a wolf in the distance.

OK, hear me out: for live material I suggest *"Wintersun - The Way Of The Fire (live in Hollywood)"* ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-5yKI_QEOHlM.html It's a song that has not yet been officially released but will be on the album "Time II" when/if it ever comes out. It's not professionally recorded and filmed but it's well cut together and good enough to realize that's it's probably their best song to date. It's fast, it's melodic, it's intricate, it has one of their absolute best and insane guitar solos and it's just overall a beautiful and powerful composition. If you enjoy the band... this is the ultimate thing!

There's not much good live footage of wintersun. I could recommand some video such as Sleeping Stars - Live at Karmøygeddon or anysong from Summer Breeze live even if the audio mixing is really bad, especially for the vocals

Like others said, there aren't many live recordings with quality audio. Here are some of my suggestions - - Starchild (live at Tuska 2013 ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-0CrD2nbvO28.html), excellent audio quality mixed with a video from audience. It's probably their best song from debut album. Really an epic one. - Eternal Darkness (live at Summer breeze 2017) - This one was from the newest album, first time performed on that show. Even though the band was sick and audio mixing is a bit off, it's still a must see performance. This one is their most brutal, really dark song and one of my favorites. There's also official lyric version it. - The Way of the Fire - still an unreleased song that fans are waiting for over a decade. Judging by the few live performances it might be their best one when finally released. The audio is not great, but still worth watching as there are two face melting solos by Jari. - Sleeping stars 2019 live has a really good quality so it's worth checking out as well. Cheers
