Personally what keeps me coming back to Wintertodt is the stimulating, intelligent conversations in mass worlds. Glad to see a video on it! Good to place to start for trying the solo method
I went ahead and got 99 in farming, woodcutting, fishing, and mining prior to going to wintertodt to compare the rewards of low level in those skills vs 99's. Didn't do crafting or herblore because I'm an ironman and didn't feel like delaying my account further.
The fact it punishes you for leveling hit points (which in order not to you have to avoid ALL combat from your accounts creation, which is a large part of the game and you have no way of knowing before you learn of Wintertodt. So if you're new either make a new character or suffer) is one of two reasons I will always prefer Tempross. You can learn Tempross, you can learn how to take no/minimal damage for a lot of bosses, you cant learn to avoid Wintertodt RNG. Not to mention each time you do get the random damage it immediately interupts your action. Tempross you can look away for a few seconds, more if you solo. Wintertodt you have to stare at the screen constantly and immediately respond. Ive heard people complain of the insane XP rates from Wintertodt. I think the insane XP is the only way you could justify the CBT (Chill in your Bones Torture) Windertodt is. I hate it and will do it on every single account because at least its fast.
Buy a Regen bracelet and pray rapid heal. bring only something to light the brazier and just cut and burn the logs and after each round use a ring of dueling to teleport to the enclave to drink from the rejuvenation pool then use a game necklace to teleport back you'll get 99 before 400 kc
"Tote" is closest to how I pronounce it. It seems to come from the German word for "death". German "Tod" (pronounced "tote") means death. So, Winterdeath.
You only need 14k points solo for max reward. Also, if you light the 4 braziers then stand in the safe zone you can easily get the boss to 40% in a couple of minutes without using food, but your giving up on 2-3 minutes of experience.
Great video as always! Todt is pretty chill, and the xp rate makes it very rewarding. One strat that I do: instead of chugging so many brews in mass worlds, just bring two brews for emergencies, and then tele tab to your house after each kill to heal with a pool, then jewelry box back to base camp. Doing that, I almost never need any brews at 99hp, so supply cost goes way down.
I just returned today after years and 99 hp is a new ball game. I've been using a couple brews and sharks or wines but need to invest into con for pool because this would be tight.
I pronounce wintertodt as wintertodt, also in my opinion for ironmen 10hp, stealing cakes for food source while doing 99 fm on wintertodt is must. its too good for early supplies and money, also my iron got phoenix at 85 fm and opening rest of crates later at 99 fm when i had higher skills for some better loot
When I had higher hitpoints and wanted to do solos I always sat in the safezone nearby the supply area until the boss was low HP. You'll lose out on getting points at the start but it's better for conserving food
Hear me out Wear a regen bracelet, rapid heal set as quick prayer. Ring of dueling to ferox enclave after game ends, rejuv pool. games necklace back to wintertodt. Wear a regen bracelet, rapid heal set as quick prayer (remember to turn it back one after rejuv pool). Food? Nope, single brew, RARELY ever use a dose.
@@NoLeather Thank you! Can you please share with me the colour codes for the "Progress arc colour", "Progress orb outline colour" and "Progress orb background colours"? Also the "Progress Arch Width". I have enabled the plugin but can't quite get it to look like yours, like @7:20 😢
I feel like it could get a little QA in the future to make it a little more friendly on the damage/interruptions, good thing is I think you only need 85 FM for a diary at some point so no need to worry about grinding it 🤝
They purposed a change based on a warmness meter yeaaars ago and it was such a good idea but they never went forward with it unfortunately, I think it becomes 10/10 if chip damage didn't stall your current action and it wasn't so random
Group todt is more xp and rewards p/hour… you can make it even better by hopping worlds to skip the 1min counter only reason for solo is exciting crate openings…
Imme be real, until today Ive never seen wintertodt, I only heard about it while watching OSAAT Ironman playhthrough videos and kinda just assumed it was a giant tree boss
The biggest issue i have with wintertodt is that its more punishing with higher HP in terms of food needed. Even with 99 fm you get wrecked if you have a mid level hp stat.
That's why I really enjoy the solo method, you take a fair bit of damage at the start but once you've got the boss to 10% the hits are so infrequent, during the run I recorded I was standing in the open and fletching and not getting hit by anything
I wont lie i hate wintertodt, its unnecessarily annoying with the interupts to doing things. I much prefer pest control/tempoross. Nothing worse than trying to fletch to be hit like 5 times.
