Imcando hammer also has the added benefit of not being loseable when the wave hits if you mess up and don’t tether, whether equipped or no! Highly recommended over standard hammer.
Tome of water pairs well with burst/barrage tasks: unlimited water runes for those Ice spells. Great for those that don't have the money for better off-hand items or staff weapons (looking at you Kodai wand)
An extra tip for when you’re unsure if you’ll deal enough damage on the last vulnerable phase: if you deposit about half of your inventory into each of the two cannons on the ship, when Tempoross emerges for the third time, the cannons will both fire at the same time, actually knocking his energy down to 0% before the storm intensity reached 100%. This gives you an extra submerged phase allowing you to easily finish off that last bit of hp.
You can do 28, or even more, on the final phase if you load at least 8 cooked fish into the second cannon. two cannons firing will drop tempoross fast enough that the storm doesn't hit 100 and you have a full pool cycle to deal damage. There's a bit of optimisation in how much energy you leave tempoross on for the final fishing round to maximize the number of fish deposited. I think my max was 40 fish deposited in the final phase. Also because you have a full duration pool at the end, you can leave tempoross at 30-40% and fish harpoon fish earlier after the second down. You may drop some but that still xp and points.
Used tome of water on my Ironman to save money on my Bones to Peaches/Master Wand grind with an earth staff early on, it was pretty nice to have but not necessary. It also helps on my bursting tasks thanks to being infinite water runes with a +8 magic bonus in the shield slot.
second this. I find it nice on bursting tasks (ironman). Also something super small to add but the tome is much lighter on weight than a staff + it's a shield slot. I use tome of fire over the staff when I do high alch rooftops so maybe there's a similar use for tome of water.
I got it early on a main and ive used it abit for enchanting or teleport reasons when I wield different combos of staffs and tomes of water or fire as needed. I could use water runes in place as they are cheap but Fire is for sure much more useful even if just for high alcing. I use it probably 95% of the time if not more but sometimes it's used. What would be amazing is combining water and fire tomes into steam tome. But give it a a small drawback like it only gains 1.5 charges per both pages needing to be added equally and charges drained same as currently.
I use time of water for lots of skilling situations, so I don't have to carry water runes for teleports and save an inventory space. Like farm runs, where you wouldn't have anything in the offhand normally, so it's more efficient. Also, ice spells during slayer tasks.
I used a Tome of Water + Dust Battlestaff to teleport from house to Falador and back instead of using a butler for construction. That combo lets you build 8 mounted mythical capes instead of 7.
Not entirely done with the video, but gotta answer your question!!! My "travel" outfit is full graceful, Mystic Smoke Staff, Tome of Water and Ring of Endurance. In my rune pouch, I keep Earth, Law and Cosmic. Every time I'm not actively doing something requiring gear, that's what I wear. Doing birdhouse run, daily activities, clue scrolls, most parts of questing, going to the GE... Basically, if I'm not fighting something or wearing a skilling outfit, that's what I wear. That way, I always have access to... Well, pretty much everything that isn't a combat spell on the Standard spellbook. Besides Earth runes, I never use any Elemental runes that way, and I don't have to perpetually keep switching the runes in my pouch. So I would argue tome of water is pretty useful!
Been watching a lot of your vids recently, keep up the good work, and would love a zalcano vid. Also a little tip, on the final inventory you can load half of your fish into each cannon and it will down tempoross a fourth time before the rage takes you out, giving you the opportunity to get the win with a full inventory everytime
Temp is a super chill skilling boss, even in solo. I can't understand how someone would like WT over Zalcano though unless they haven't actually engaged with with content. When you learn Zalcano and do it in smaller teams, it's pretty fun and super profitable. Well worth the time. It is really irritating to do mass worlds at peak hours since you can just not get kill credit, but it's not too hard to find a world to join in. Even in duo the boss is chill.
I hate Tempoross and wintertodt equally. Chill means you can just watch videos and fap while occasionally checking the game like say blood RC at arceus. Tempoross you pay attention but the second you look away a colossal wave appears and fucks you over instantly. Todt is even worse as for Zalcano I dunno it is pretty pointless IMO reason being Star mining actually exists and looks superior to me every single way especially because it is AFK. The worst of the bunch is winterdotd because there is no bonfire alternative to leveling firemaking you are basically stuck with winterdot until 99. Tempoross is really only a problem until you get the main reason of doing the grind, the fishing barrel. Once you get it you laugh your ass off and go do karambwan or really any other methods is superior including sacred eels, barbarian fishing etc anything is better then tempoross.
@@jeanbob1481 when you do temp enough, you'll get a feel for specials. They always happen in order, and they'll happen and fairly predictable intervals. Zalcano isn't meant as much for xp. It's more for supplies or gp. Being "chill" is extremely objective. To you, chill means afk. I did about 12 straight hours of zalcano for a bingo recently in duo/trio, and i found it really mindless, which to me can be chill. When im not on coms, i usually watch shows while doing zalcano because I half pay attention, but I also watch shows while doing leviathan and vardorvis.
Tome of water is primarily good for infinite waters on Irons (saving an inventory slot in Mahogany Homes is where I got most of the use but decent for bursting too or generally skilling content where space matters)
The Tome of water acts as infinite runes for water while doing ice spells. Its good if u want to safe one inventory space in the early games when u playing iron or dont have access too divine rune pouch yet.
I use the tome of water and a bonecrusher necklace while bursting monkey madness 2 monkeys. Unlimited water runes, and i generally come close to breaking even, or even turning a small profit from the prayer pots. Not very often that a 200k+ xp/ph method can do that.
Insanely niche use for the tome of water is in the volcanic mine. Theres lava beasts that take double damage from water spells so with the tome you can hit like 60s with a water surge, gaining you a whopping 34 mining xp per kill.
10:20 the method i do is load 28 fish by doing 14 in each canon and if it gets to the next wave because youre unable to do enough damage then it will be able to lower his energy back to 0 before it kicks you out
Only times I’ve used the Tome of Water was early on the iron for burst/barraging when GP was tight and some weird point method at Volcanic Mine that involves killing the Lava Beasts.
I use the tome of water on my ironman when I burst tasks cause you only need one page in it and it counts as infinite water runes which saves a ton of money
The tome of water is useful within the minigame itself, you can carry a harpoon in one slot and a the tome in the other, making the humidify spell marginally cheaper.
I like these minigame... analysis videos? It's cool to hear your perspective on the minigames. I'd love to see one for Wintertodt and Zalcano, too! I've noticed you've only done skilling minigames so far. I wonder if any other minigames could make an appearance 👀
If you feed the 28 fish into both cannons evenly the dps will break tempoross before the storm intensity kicks you out in that last phase and you can easily finish him off.
I am a true Zalcano enjoyer, even tho all of my collection logs have always been empty. Tempoross is busted at early Ironman levels for the rewards and free food compared to how easy it is to get into it. Also the free harpoon eventually :P
Super-duper late to the video, but I'm happy to report the Tome of Water is actually useful now! And therefore, Tempoross has a gotten a buff in importance as well! For those that come across this much later, here's why the Tome is better: Project Rebalance, and elemental weaknesses. Certain mobs are now weak to certain elements, and additionally, all spells of a certain class i.e. Strikes, Bolts, Blasts, Waves, and Surges, will all have identical Max Hits. No more Wind Strike only having a max of 2 and Fire Strike having a max of 8! And that is all for this extra-special mini update to this video! Take care everybody
Tempoross for Ironmen is good before Wintertodt cause planks and nails drops. Tome of Water, like Tome of Fire, are infinite of that rune type and in this case water runes for Barraging.
I'm mixed on skilling bosses. Just hit full 70's, and while Temp is nice to mix up my training I personally prefer to use more afk methods to train skills like Fishing so I can get the exp while doing something else. Wintertodt is fine, it's fast and basically free exp but the random cold damage interrupts have like no counterplay and frustrate more than anything else. Not like they really stop bots either. Zalcano I've only ever done a few times, not enough to judge, once in a duo and once attempted solo (just don't solo Zal, I only got halfway through in an hour and ran out of supplies). I haven't tried mass world Zal but I would assume profit margins are basically zero.
Isn't the Tomb of Water just as valid as the fire version? I am looking forward to it more then the fire version. Going to save rune space making combos in GOTR.
The funny thing is, you almost prefer people troll because a stacked game means people 1 phase it which is like 2 credits no matter how good you do. You want that sweet spot where there's like 25 points left of health by their 2nd phase for a chance at 6 credits per game. I usually came in at 5 which is imo the middle ground for afking it. Soloing was just a little much for me
The tomb of water is nice for unlimited water runes while bursting unless you get that wand with unlimited water runes. But honestly, its just water runes, its gonna take quite a while to pay for itself
Oh if you want do it in a group the sweat spot is around 10 to 20 players. The main goal is get 2k in points. Any more is other premit every 1k adds one.
I still sometimes use tome of water for some niche content like medium clue grinds on iron just to save water runes... even though i have like 40k water runes and they are cheap
Tome of water isn’t bad on my iron when doing barraging tasks. Saving 4 water runes per cast adds up in the long run. Other than that, it sits in my bank
i use tome of water as a daily walking tool for quick tp... I carry smokestaff and the tome so i have unlimited water fire and air runes for quick teleport. i need it for my herb and tree run to teleport to falador.. its super cheap too so why not
Bursting slayer i use tome to save a rune pouch slot (still dont have a thread) Other than that, its not useful except maybe when doing humidify but that's probably not cost efficient
I don't know it if counts, but I'm an ironman without a mudstaff, and I'm really hoping the book drops while I'm farming for my fish barrel so I can bring it and an earth staff into Mage Training Arena for my enchanting grind.
Also it's worth mentioning that if you're using a normal harpoon and have barbarian fishing learned, barehanded is an option, is the same speed as a normal harpoon, and the trickle of strength xp isn't negligible.
Nah bro, those spirit flakes are goated. I use them for fishing sharks, on my ironman they are great, if i need to boost fishing level i will go fly fishing
they need to do something about all the dead items. its getting bad. no point unless your getting for your logs and honestly no one gives a fuck about those. even the dead item arent even good for uim/im its broken as all hell.
@@NoLeather I did temp because I loved fishing while at work, went almost 3x the drop rate on the fishing barrel, my strategy was always, 7 buckets of water, barb fish for extra strength xp, catch a full inventory, cook, shoot, repeat. Very chill and very doable even on the heavy lag I had while on mobile
