Hope you had a nice relaxing Mother’s Day. No suggestions here for content, I go with the flow 😄 congratulations on getting to 250 and beyond. There is a little mouse under my bedroom floorboards I hear is scratch at times, so does my cat 🫣

Happy mother's day Gretchen! I love listening to your WIP while I am working on my DA project! Congratulations on all of your subscribers!!! That being said, one thing I have never liked was a mouse anywhere near me. A character mouse like Mikey or Minnie I absolutely love!

I am off today & have spent the day home alone being as quiet as a mouse while sorting thru a giant tote of papers & prob 3 yrs. worth of filing...ugh! So glad to hear ur Mom IS your Bestie. Mine was my Bestie & my biggest cheerleader toooo...and I'm so glad u appreciate family & esp. ur Mom most recently. Keep sharing! ❤ This filing stuff is for the birds, lol....I gotta go DP now! Happy Belated Mother’s Day. My daughter and I have a special relationship. I’m so glad she’s in my life. My kids took me out for dinner yesterday to the restaurant of my choice, Mexican! My kids step-mom is something else! I would feed her to a mouse! Lol. I read the other posts, I’m waiting for Richard Lorenz painting, which is due today, my second one. Love his birds. Thanks for sharing. I give you credit. I don’t think I could handle being a teacher it whatever capacity you are in within that environment.

Hi Gretchen, good to hear you chatting. Your last video inspired me to kit up a Mandie Manzano as well 😀 so I'm now working on Lady Creole , an older kit. But I am so much slower than you are. By the way, yesterday was also my Mom's birthday, so we had some prime time with her. She turned 86. ❤ How do you explain English students that the plural of mouse and louse are mice and lice, but houses are not hice??😂😂 I remember having a lively discussion once about that question 😂

🤣 thank you! I’m glad you had such a special day. And love that you’re doing a Manzano painting too!! I’m really a fan of some of her older works. I’m eager to see some new stuff come out that’s a different line. And I have no idea how to explain English. It’s such a weird language. It makes me laugh when I see people trying to explain all those similar spellings but one letter makes it sound completely different. 🤷‍♀️

Happy Belated Mother’s Day. I enjoy your long video’s, I’m usually diamond painting while listening. As of today you have 500 subscribers, congratulations to you. You were talking about metal tips, I use the DAC single placer. I used to use the other type of metal single placers but when I started using DAC’s, I was hooked. The thing that I like is that the opening is small like the brass tips but do not bend like the brass tips and also with the small opening when you place drills the other drills don’t get pushed. They fit 2 micro glue dots perfectly, and I like to hear the pop also. You are so very lucky to still have your mother, mine passed in 2009, and I miss her dearly. Enjoy her always because we are not promised another day. One day you will hopefully be a grandmother and be able to do the spoiling, look forward to that. I still remember when I was young, my mom, dad, my brother and I went to Disney Land and I had a Mickey Mouse hat with the ears. I miss those times of my youth but we all have to grow up. Looking forward to your next video and to see what you are working on. 😺

Thank you for such a nice message! And holy moly! I just saw I had 502 subscribers now! Cannot believe it!! Never thought this would happen. I do feel so lucky to still have my parents: especially since my husband has already lost both of his. I’m terrified to lose them. I know it will happen but really hope it’s not for a long time. I’m hoping to get to see them more now they’re retiring. I’m so glad you enjoy my videos and listen as you diamond paint too. I need to make another one now. Well several actually. Thank you! I’ve been trying to learn about framing too. I am planning to make some videos soon about what I’ve done so far and hopefully a mounting type method I still need to try out. So far, on most, I just paint the edges or remove the ink (depending on if I think black or white looks better), but I want to mount my Lorenz birds so that’s what I’m going to practice and I’ll post showing it if it works🤞

I use the specialty waxes from Esty for my AB drills. They don't stick like the putty does.

Which wax in particular do you use? I’ve tried crayon like wax but it comes off on the drills. Now I use my putty from Randa’s if it’s “well used” for multiplacing, or the glue dots seem to do ok. 🤷‍♀️ Thanks for watching!

@Rubies_And_Moonstones Pure Bliss Wax on Esty. It's in a tin. I works on my single placer end of my pen for regular drills and my ABs. My putty sticks when I place ABs.

I actually use the DAC screw in pen with a single placer and a 7-multiplacer. It's my favourite one to use, and I hope they bring out more colours eventually. I'd love to join in on an event too! The little switch trays look like a lot of fun. Sadly for me, shipping costs are a nightmare for me for trays, so I just use the DAC ones you get. Honestly, the only reason I don't 'like' a video is because I genuinly forget. I have ADHD, so the button just disappears sometimes. My friend in highschool used to have a mice, they were incredibly cute and cuddly Congrats on 400 (as of viewing) subscribers and happy mothers day!❤

Thank you! I know! I can’t believe how many new subscribers have joined recently! We’ll be having a 500 subscriber giveaway soon if this keeps up. And I forget to “like” videos all the time too. I would love to try to do an event but I just can’t think of a theme. 🤔 I get shipping costs are a bummer. But I can’t believe the difference a good tray makes. My mom kept asking how I got my drills to line up so well and once I gave her one of my trays she was amazed and couldn’t go back. I’m sure there’s someone local so shipping wouldn’t be so bad. There are a lot of companies. Plus, it helps to multiplace with a lot more diamonds in my tray. But hey, if the little trays work for you, I think that’s great too! There are actually really good quality for a “tool kit” tray. Thanks so much for watching and commenting!

@@Rubies_And_Moonstones A fun theme could be 'funky birds' as a nod to your Richard Lorenz birds 😂 I love those little guys. I'm currently trying out a tray from a local company, but I feel like they get stuck a lot when trying to shake them in line. it's also very dependent on drill quality for me. I have a lot more issues with drills lining up from smaller company kits than DAC for example!

@@SmartDollCosplay that’s a good idea. But they had a Lorenz Event back in January, and I don’t want it to be anything anyone thinks I’m “stealing ideas” from. Which is why it’s so hard to think of something unique. Was thinking of a summer break/teacher theme: so it could be anything that reminds you of your school experience or summer in general, or something you think your school might like. So it would be very broad. But maybe that’s too broad. 🤷‍♀️

I was afraid to turn my canvas at first but it’s actually not bad. I do a lot sideways now. I prefer not to go upside down though. But as I’ve worked on Cinderella today, I’ve turned the canvas every single direction.

A few minutes ago I sent a message and Y T deleted it. Here is a suggestion for an E t s y tray maker. I have one and I love it. It is magnetic to keep prying eyes and paws out. Name of company is Bijo add letter u Blis add s Desi add gn. There are lots of size and color choices. She is very nice to work with. Take out spaces between words if you know what I mean. I have been really enjoying your videos. My only constructive criticism is that the sound is quite, sometimes as quite as a mouse. I have my Bluetooth almost at max, and then any notifications, or autoplays then come in blaring. Congrats to your 250+ subscribers!

Thank you so much! I’ve noticed that with the sound too and have been trying to fix it. I don’t know why my voice is so quiet. I have a microphone. So I’ve tried to really lower the volume on those notifications and any music. Do you think it’s gotten any better over time? Or was this one just as bad? Thank you. I really do appreciate the advice and support. I want to do better and don’t want to turn someone off because of something like this. If you keep listening, I’d sure appreciate you continuing to let me know if the volume is a problem or if it’s getting better. Thanks again!!!

@Rubies_And_Moonstones This time was better than other videos...and I am no RU-vid expert, but sometimes lowering the volume that is being recorded makes it able to play louder? Love these videos! I learn a lot as I progress on my DP journey. Any comment about working on larger canvases without experiencing pain in my ribs and back? Do people work large canvases flat or raised large. How do you raise the canvas if I don’t have a large easel?

Did you see the video I did on large canvases and heavy confetti? It’s in my tips and tutorials playlist. But… I’ve always used an easel and now a drafting table. I know plenty of people dp flat, but I can’t do it or I’d have neck pain and migraines. The easel really helped until I decided to invest in a drafting table. You can get easels in a variety of sizes so maybe look for one that fits your space? 🤷‍♀️ and then if you watch that video, I made a clipboard with Velcro to help me keep the painting at the height I wanted it to work on. My mom uses a smaller easel with a light board. She’s now gotten an A2 but originally used an A3 light pad and that worked well for her. She just decided to get a bigger light pad when the first one died. Not sure if any of that is helpful. Maybe I’ll do a video with my actual easel and not my drafting table to show how I made that work. Thanks for watching!

I love getting into the rhythm of DP and want to keep the pleasure in this new-to-me hobby. While working on smaller canvases I did not experience any discomfort but the larger canvas requires a strong core! This might be the impetus for me to get into better shape 😂.. I love your videos and will watch for a mention of the easel and the drafting table.

I have to be sure to take movement breaks and working on an incline is also super important so I don’t strain my neck. I also have a comfortable office chair I’m using now which is much better than my old dining room table chair I was using before. Good luck! Hope you find something that works for you
