Sounds a lot more like a Merlin, and suitably mechanical too - which is a detail lots miss, you hear EVERYTHING in these old birds. Very much hope the gun sounds will get the once-over too, the 303s and Hispanos aren't particularly convincing.
Granted, I've never been in a Spitfire. Much less one in flight. But I have to say, that does sound fantastic. The original isn't exactly bad either, but there is a lot more nuance in the new one. Very nice work.
The difference is incredible! I literally feel the power of that Merlin now, the current sound is so empty compared to the new! Can't wait the new release! I hope we can get it this year :)
Honest opinion: The new sounds are fantastic. Crisp with a lot of different effects/details in between. They sound great. One note I have though is that the current sounds feel authentic if they are heard through a helmet (muffled) while the others are as if you had no hearing protection on. A lot of 'treble' detail is lost when putting on a helmet. So imho, the current one suits me well as I prefer the sensation og hearing as if I were flying. The new sounds are much more detailed though and feel authentic as if I were doing a cockpit recording. This would play really well if I had radio audio played theough a headset, and cockpit audio through desktop speakers :)
There's already doppler effect in CloD, for example in fly-by view. The game also takes into account the amount of time it takes sound to travel to an observer, that's why we have a time delay on distant explosions of bombs and flak shells.
Can anyone help - my propeller looks like it's stuttering and idling (almost stop-motion) at any engine setting despite controls set as always have been. Not like here in the either of the current or WIP videos. Not pleasant. Not just me or what am I doing wrong?!
I'm curious if there are any plans to rework the Hispano and the 0.303? For some reason the 0.303 feels heavier to me than the Hispano (I actually found myself subconsciously using the Hispano for ranging and then firing a burst with the 0.303 - i.e. I got their uses reversed)!
You realise they're getting that question from all directions? This video is showcasing new sounds, maybe comment about that? VR will be ready when it's ready. Constantly pestering them isn't going to make it come any faster. By the way team great work on the new sounds 👍🏻
@@darrenp3615 Yes, I do realize that. I am taking the opportunity to make my input as to the relative importance of new sounds vs. VR. Here’s an idea: you make the comments you want to make, and I’ll make the comments I want to make. Can you dig it?
@@TheGhostrider9667 they hadn't realised players wanted VR but now that you've told them it will completely change the way they do things. On behalf of the community, thank you! I'm pretty sure I am making the comments I want to make, one of which is calling out someone pestering a team for something they're already working on. Have a nice day!
Now it sounds like an American plane - the engine is going to die at any moment now. That is my opinion of American engines - as though they are going to die any moment.
Just purchased "Desert Wings" and have to say how very disappointed I am. No effort whatsoever has been put into the campaign maps gameplay, or even any sort of interactive career mode. just a series of scripted missions that proceed regardless of outcomes. I'd be OK with that if there was an active live server base, but there's literally no-one on, day or night. absolute waste of money. In fifteen hours bout all I learned was the prop pitch and throttle settings for cruise in a P40. Is this a game, or what?
