Just finished installing my new wiper motor on my 1990 Silverado this morning...... almost froze my @ss off. Two hours later I find this. Watch it carefully and it will save you a whole lot of aggravation. LISTEN to what he says and do how he shows you. This will save you a whole lot of aggravation. This is the best video on RU-vid for installing a wiper motor on a 1990 Silverado.
Same issue with my 88' Chevy Silverado c1500. Good to finally see a video of the same Control Module that I have. There is actually 2 different Modules that look identical but the only difference is the contact prongs either being on the motor or the board. Impossible to find the one you pulled out as I have tried. Did the resoldering and that didn't last long after both times. Finally said hell with this thing and got the new motor and module today. Thank god because here in Seattle we finally are getting our rain back lol. Great video!
Thanks mate from Australia , A really helpful video , I now know about the two different types of wiper motors and you have hopefully saved me from buying the incorrect parts. Cheers Leigh
Very helpful as I could not get the proper replacement for my 90 chevy 2500the board # 22073439 is just non existent. Plus after all it takes to get it out its just seems easier to replace it. Too bad all the parts are now Chinese as they dont really last all that long. Thanks for the helpful tips!
I know you posted this a year ago but I'm so glad I found your video. Thanks for saying that they stop making this model cause I couldn't find this mother board and now I know that I have to install the new one. Thanks again. I was wondering if you know how to fix the speedometer gage on theses model gages (the half moons gages)? I have a 90 model and my speedometer gage and odometer numbers don't work either and I can't find any videos on this subject.
I got old school one too. Mine has started not working. It doesnt move and makes a click. Or it works. And i noticed taking the gear cover off you see the ol version has this drill screw drive shaft from motor to gear. At times itll shutter like it skips a tooth or frictions up like binding resistance. Soooo yeah I'm not fn around. Ill be following this and buying one off a A1auto since i hear more positives. To bad i can't find em for less than $70ish
hello, very interesting and well done video. Does the new engine model have the same characteristics as the old one (intermittence and speed)? can you put a link to purchase? thank you Hello Luca
I have the same one like you but mine just don’t go all the way down when they aren’t in youse do you know if i just can adjust them? Or need too change all the motor?
Did the motor not work at all or it was moving too slow? My 84 chevy blazer 4x4 wipers are super, super slow. Not sure if it's the motor or electrical?
Did the same and resoldered the whole board. Worked for a few days flawlessly then just acted up again. Worth the couple bucks just to replace the whole system. Good for you though if it worked and still does. You're the lucky one for sure!
