I love how you went from just making all these cool little contraptions to finding your one thing you're passionate about: wire trees. I never got around to making mine (after I bought some wire, candle holders and rocks), but I'm glad you got to continue it!
This may not interest me but I’ve been watching since mist8k fought me how to make weapons to attack friends in class and I couldn’t possibly unsubscribe now
I saw this video a couple days ago on YT and was wondering what it'd be good for... could look really cool in this box I think ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-5ZT0GVwoRDU.html
I used to watch your mist8ke videos when i was younger (i think 8 or 9), i forgot the name of your channel and couldnt find it over the years until it just hit me earlier today. Im 16 now and watching your old videos (and new ones too) reminds me of the awe i used to have when i was younger. Youre cool man very cool
It's not up for sale atm as it's quite heavy and need brackets added if it were to be mounted on a wall. I spent about £200 on materials. I would probably ask £1500 shipping included. I won't make many more like this because of the labour, stabbed hands and poked eyes etc. I'm happy lot's of people have seen the video of the process. Think I might do smaller versions to sell. This one is 32 inches wide.
Hey Andy! I'm a really really old viewer, here since you created MIST8K and I remember all your awesome videos about lil toys and even those videos in reverse, I miss your old MIST8K videos, if possible please bring them back. Love from India ❤️
Beautiful work. Working with wire is always an excercise in masochism. I like the simple white background of the shadow box. It combined with the bare steel and dead tree silhouette really sell the idea of winter without snow.
Theres a website that sells LED items, they usually make a video about each new item they get so I'm subbed just because it's neat to see what new items hit the market. They did a video of a nice 2 by 4 foot even color panel, looks really neat and has multiple color settings. I was kind of wondering what it'd be good for, maybe photography, but it looks like it'd fit in that box really well... that'd look sick.
Panel lights are really useful in both photography and videography. The large light source makes the shadows much softer than a single point, so they work well for fill lights. I agree that one would look amazing in the sculpture! I'm imagining a small fog machine (like the ones in some fountains) to create some crazy shadows...
I followed your alcohol powered sketchpen bazooka if you know what i mean i cant explain it cause it was a really long time ago and iam here since then.
@@mist8k it was a blast making it and teaching others how it worked to which they seemed fascinated most probably because it was a 10 or 12 year old explaining it and thanks again and if you don't mind could you upload a what happened to you ,like an update cause you didn't upload for a long time and then started posting again. Thanks MIST8k.
Very cool sculpture but I'm not sure the frame does it justice, I think something less busy but also more unique, that just feels like a stock frame :s
Hey Andy, your trees look amazing. I recently made one myself, but am wondering if the copper I used will start to oxidize/become discolored after a while. Have you had that happen to any of your copper trees?
You should partner with some one who is trained in Japanese scroll paining to decorate your boxes, and your bases, I think it would add a lot to the piece. But good stuff though 👍
Do you do work shops to teach others how to make your trees I guess not at the moment but when all this covid is over Plus I’m guessing you are Manchester based
