www.gtacarkits.com/product/wi... How to install a kit that enables Wireless Apple CarPlay and AndroidAuto in Porsche Cayenne 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015 and 2016 model years. The kit supports touch screen.
Great video. One thing to note, some models require you to transfer the optical connection from the original harness to the new one. If you skip this step you won't get sound out of the speakers.
Thank you so much for the detailed info. It was really helpful. Im definitely going to subscribe to your channel after seeing ABGT355 on your playlist!!! 🥰👍
@@JoonBalloon Yep, took me about 4 hours though, had to dismantle it again due to a loose connection...Automatic wireless connection doesn´t work though, only once after a reset. If the ignition is off for more than, let´s say 2 minutes I´ve to force it to reconnect either via the system menu or a bluetooth-reconnect on the iPhone...any ideas on that one?
@@jacobcreutzfeld3505 no I don’t. I was hoping u had figured it out. If u had my next question was gonna be where are u located & how much would u charge to install mine
@@JoonBalloon :-) that might get a bit difficult , as I´m living in Germany. But don´t worry, it´s not such a big deal, especially having that video...!
It looks awesome. From your website I see that the phone must be connected to the lightning cable and CarPlay may be controlled using either the radio’s integrated control buttons or by voice. Do you anticipate a newer version enabling true wireless CarPlay?
I just installed my CarpPlay kit on my 2011 Cayenne and this video really helped. I ran into some problems with the ribbon cable not snapping in the place properly, which gave me a blank screen initially. One question I have is that the multimedia module seems to be on, even when the car is turned off. Wouldn't that drain the battery?
Great video! I have the base head unit in my 2014 cayenne, so it has a 1/8 mini jack to plug in a phone, and it also has blue tooth. Can this be installed in this system and work with no problem? Thanks Barry
I am considering doing this to mine. The title of this says Wireless but you had to plug in the phone which is now not wireless. How do you get it to the point where it is all Bluetooth and you do not have to plug in the phone? Also GREAT video and instructions!!!
Great video and instructions, has anyone had issue where there carplay wifi will not connect? Can not connect wireless or wired? I would love to hear some feedback or work-arounds, thank you all.
Hi there! I was wondering if you are using the carplay mode, does the proximity sensors still working or you have to change manually to the original mode?
If you put the car in reverse, it will switch to that mode. If you want to launch proximity sensors separately, you would have to switch out of the CarPlay mode. Thank you.
Original map will still display in the gauge cluster. But you will not be able to see the Map from CarPlay in there, not possible to link the original Gauge cluster with our CarPlay unit. Thank you.
I just followed this tutorial and got excellent results, except I had NO AUDIO... My Cayenne has Bose audio and uses fiber optic cables. YOU MUST DISCONNECT THE LITTLE CONNECTOR WITH THE TWO FIBER OPTIC CABLES FROM THE ORIGINAL BIG SQUARE CONNECTOR AND PUT IT IN THE NEW BIG SQUARE CONNECTOR FOR THE AUDIO TO WORK.
Thanks for the help! Worked well for the sound 👌🏼 One issue I’m having is that I don’t see the camera when I put reverse, I have the factory camera installed.
Oddly mine works but the maps stopped having sound. Not sure why. It happened after Porsche put new tires on my car. Seems unrelated but that’s when the sound went away.
I just saw another video shows the almost same steps to install the GTA kit on cayenne, but it dose show the final step to instal that multimedia video interface box. Is it nessary to install this interface box and what's the function of this one?
At time 1:12 I noticed the analog clock sped to 12:00 and stop moving, I just bought cayenne and the clock is at the same place not moving, how do you make it work?
Your original radio doesn't support HD, CarPlay will display as best as your radio can display. Android stereos have many issues, best to research both options. Thank you.
I hope this is sarcasm. If you work harder than others by all means you should be able to buy nicer things. With that logic we’d all strive to be door greeters.
