I do like your switches for isolating the solar panels. Are they just normal circuit breakers on a DIN rail? Have you just got the live from the panels & the battery going through these?

Hi, yes they are circuit breakers on a din rail - however they are specific for DC (Direct Current) rather than AC (Alternating Current) This is because AC ones could arc over the contacts in a DC circuit. Here is an example of them: amzn.to/3BVBd7n In my set up I have 10Amps on the panels and 32Amps on the battery. Yes, only the Positive from Battery to controller and Panel to Controller go through them.

Love this monitor! But do you know if it comes with a frame or cover so I can mount it on the nav station on my boat?

I’m afraid I have not seen a frame for them but shouldn’t be too hard to make one. I think they are designed for mounting behind a panel cutout.

Whats the limit on the capacity setting since you have to set it 10x to begin with as I have a very large battery bank and wondering if I would actually be able to set it up cheers

Hi, it can be set as high as 65000 AH. So allowing for the adjustment you’d be fine with a battery bank up to 6500 AH

Do you think that powering the main board (through a step down) and feeding it 100v dc to its voltage reading port, all of this simultaneusly through the same switch on the 100v cable, might do harm to it? Or it has to be first powered on, get the things running in it, and then switch on the main power to its voltage reading port? Thanks.

Sorry I wouldn't like to say as not sure how it would behave. Personally I would power it from a separate source.

Hi David, yes you can set the screen time out in the menu. From 0 seconds (always on) up to a minute if I remember correctly. You can also set it to auto switch the screen back on when certain currents are reached.

My wireless voltage meter is the same than you but it can't show the current under 1 amp can you have any idea to fix that ? (From Belgium 🙂)

Neither. The display is wireless to the sensor. I presume it uses a proprietary communications format.

Warning, the is a complelty buggy product. I tested 3 different units. Do not buy the prodcut. Problems: The manual is wrong. 1. The red wire and not the black wire goes through the hall sensor. The volt measuring wire is on the same bus bar and thus there will be a flow of current through the black wire which leads to an offset of Amp mearuring. 2. NCP and OCP are in the unit wrongly named. The NCP parameter is OCP and vice versa. 3. A lot of language errors. 4. Two units lead to a situation where the output relay could not be changed anymore after paramters were changed, only a reset helped. 5. Two units did not allowed a change of the different modes. 6. One unit started smoking after some time. Really do not buy this product if you dont want ending up having a lot of problems. Start a refund processs and send it back.
