Hi quick question, why did you drill trough the boot. And not feed cables trough excisting grommet from the plate lights?

I did have a look at feeing them through the plate lights but I couldn't see an obvious way to get the wire through, so would have ended up drilling through the plate light anyway. So I just opted for the boot. It is only a plastic panel on the outside so should be no chance of rust/corrosion, in theory.

Hi there great video so thank you, my car is the new breed of the tourneo 2023 by VW and FORD, the wired camera I fitted would not work, reason they have fitted normal lamps but left the powering of them for the led bulbs !! new laws I guess, using a pulsed modulated DC causing the camera not to work, having scoped it there was an easy fix, take a feed from the reversing bulb 12 volt supply (when the reversing lamp is on) then put a diode 1N4004 or similar in series positive side to the camera with the new wire and connect a 2200mfd capacitor to this and chassis or ground and feed the diode + voltage to camera, the DC will now be charged to the highest peak which is 12 volts approx , most cameras will work fine. mine was £12 with a display works a treat, Ford could not offer me anything so that's why I fitted my Own, they said it was too awkward to fit must say it was, but your video made it a great job, and no wires showing, hope this may help your viewers I am a tech designer but am only telling you how I got over it, good luck thank you and you are welcome to post this anywhere as I know several people were moaning about this, and I am not sure where to post it. I did also to lower the current fit two led reverse bulbs, will help in cases where the camera may draw a lot. Of course I give the you tube owner the right to remove this if he wishes just trying to help

Thanks for the comment! This is useful info for anyone with the newer model. I am glad you got it sorted, definitely useful for anyone with the same issue.

Thank you for the video. Got the same year and colour Tourneo just recently and going to fit the same make kit but a newer version. A few questions. Did you power the screen using the top dash 12volts socket in the end ? Also where did you mount the screen on the window ? Thanks in advance .

Hi, sorry for late reply. Yes I just plug into the top dash 12v socket (the one hidden under the lift up panel). The camera mounts onto the dashboard, there's just enough space (and flat enough) on the right hand side of the dash, so it doesn't block the window. It tucks into the corner (just) quite nicely. I haven't bothered with a window mount at all.

@hassellvinny Thanks for the reply. I am using the same power socket as you but mounted it on the top right of the windscreen. Funny enough I was thinking, it's not right and will move it to where you suggest instead. Thanks so very much.
