Discover the magic of Nikon SnapBridge with my comprehensive step-by-step video. In this tutorial, I'm sharing a cool and easy way to seamlessly sync your Nikon camera to an iPad, unleashing the power of tethered photoshoots but wirelessly! 🚀 Perfect for both new and experienced photographers. Although this tech is not new, I am sharing this with photographers who did not know about it. Sure, there are many ways to tether or sync wirelessly but this is a method that has worked for me and I wanted to share with my viewers. Please keep that in mind.
In this video I am using the ‪@nikonusa‬ D850 (DSLR)

Certainly appreciated this one. I've used my SnapBridge on my phone to quickly transfer my photos for sharing, but will definitely use with the larger screen from the iPad to let my clients see how the shots came out while shooting. Thanks.

Hey! Same process, using this app you can download them to your iPad or instead of syncing to iPad sync to the phone and download from there. Just follow the same instructions. 🙏🏼

Hi thank you for the info. Does it matter whether you shoot jpeg or raw?

@@waltergroves7672 yes, the lower the file size fhe faster. I use it for soft proofing so JPEGs work great for me

does not do it real time transfer like for example the capture one pilot….here in Nikon you have to update the coming photos by clicking out of download and then click download again to get the new photos….it is annoying and shortcoming unless I missed something that makes incoming photos stream?
@shootwithray
@shootwithray 5 месяцев назад
Yes you have to click out and in, but it’s instant. I didn’t have to download anything. Make sure you are shooting JPEGs

That sucks i been trying to find a work around so far I haven't found one. One day im going to try cascable. FYI snap bridge is sketchy nikon user over 10 yrs. [I don't feel clients have to wait for snapbridge to feel like if it wants to work. (Sorry rant)] can't we use a monitor?

That’s interesting, is the camera being used or is it just sitting there idle? Also, are you doing it via Bluetooth?

@@shootwithray I tried both Bluetooth and WiFi. I says connection established but there is zero functionality . I gave up and downloaded Cascable. 3 min to connects, works like a charm. Now I have to pay to unlock all functionalities.

This isn’t wireless tethering, it’s wireless file transfer
@shootwithray

@@shortie8512 that’s your opinion. I’m able to operate and use the functions as if I was tethered. Thanks for watching
@shortie8512
@shortie8512 Месяц назад
@@shootwithray it’s not an opinion, it is fact. Tethering doesn’t require having to manually download/transfer images from the camera to your tethered device, the transfer is automatic as you shoot. Unfortunately NX Tether isn’t available for mobile devices. SnapBridge is all we have, but it doesn’t provide tethered shooting
@shootwithray
@shootwithray Месяц назад
@@shortie8512 Lots of my viewers and subscribers alike enjoy shooting outdoors or on location. They enjoy having little to no wires at all, especially with lighting. Removing the “tethered” or “wired” factor when reviewing images with clients is something that has been seen as a benefit during photo sessions. My viewers enjoyed seeing this in my videos, hence asking me for tutorials on how to sync camera to iPad or device alike, in order to setup a wireless function where my viewers can then showcase photos captured almost instantaneously, wirelessly. They aren’t looking to “download” or “transfer” photos, they would like to have the option to simply review the photo with the client/subject. There can be a thousand ways we can title this. However, to keep titles short and to directly resonate with my audience, I used the word tether, which is something that can resonate with any photographer. During any of these tutorials I have created, the user can connect “wirelessly” from camera to iPad. This connection allows them to operate the camera from the iPad, live view, change exposure and settings, compose via Liveview and lastly once the photo is taken, they can also review the photos, instantly. To me, that is tethering. Look at the comments, everyone else seems to have enjoyed it and or appreciated the tutorial in how to accomplish this. Sorry the video did not work out for you. But I still appreciate your viewership. Thank you
