This is a video of me installing a remote control on my dump trailer. I used a remote control from a winch I got on amazon for about $19. amzn.to/34aIj8L
Thanks man - after watching your video, I got pretty much the same deal on Amazon. I installed mine with relays between the receiver and my hydraulic controls. Way better than being tethered.
I bought the exact one on ebay (china) installed it, worked 3 times and started running intermittently off and on very quickly. Emailed seller, they eventually sent new unit to replace, I haven't installed it yet, but when I do I will use 2 separate relays to do the heavy lifting so unit wont burn out again. Should have bought unit from manufacturer, but after using dump trailer realized I made huge mistake. Salesman said addon for remote from factory was $600 at purchase..huh, that's another reason why I passed, 6 months later called factory up in Quebec spoke to representative and he said $60 for him to send it. A profit is one thing but that's ridiculous. The trailer is an N & N 10,000 dump trailer galvanized pull behind, has been a fantastic trailer..
Update, I just bought this package again but with the heavy relay included with the purchase, I think it was $47ish on ebay. Liked the wiring on this new one compared to wiring in two separate auto relays in combo with lighter remote electronics.
I enjoy watch your video one the remote I just installed a pump on my trailer and was seeking information on wiring ?. My pump is a fenner fluid 1789-A1 12vDC, it was a used pump the plastic tank was broken so the guy bought new assembly that worked for me cause he gave it to me. The pump has one valve I see you are powering both ways I only can see one valve on yours ? is that correct ?. I bought a harbor freight remote that should work the same as the one you demonstrated ? Did you use (Black for Ground) and (Red for positive) I didn't understand (Yellow does it go to solenoid) does (White go to switch) ? having white going to the pump solenoid allows to run pump up and down running the motor ? If I wire so I have power up and gravity down to save on battery life and running motor. To wire for power up and gravity down The wires from the remote are: Red, Black, White & Green. Black is ground, Red is for power, White for the solenoid, Yellow goes to the pump. So what happens when the up button is pushed up button Red being Positive and Black is ground the White is attached to starter solenoid and yellow is to the pump solenoid . Wiring like this will it allow power up and gravity down feed ? my email is : robjens2200@outlook.com Thank you so much.
