We will now look at wiring an ultrasonic proximity sensor to a Click PLC. An ultrasonic sensor (switch) is able to detect object presence without physical contact (limit switch). No physical contact means that the switch has no parts that will wear out. The life span of the sensor is increased with less maintenance. An ultrasonic sensor will use sound waves to detect objects. These sound waves are at a level that we cannot hear. Distance is measured by the time it takes to send and receive the ultrasonic wave. Objects can be measured the same no matter what the color, transparency, shininess, or lighting conditions of the application.
We will be wiring an ultrasonic sensor into the input of our Click PLC. This will include a discrete and analog input signal. The UK1F-E7-0A is an 18mm diameter sensor that has a PNP N.O./N.C. selectable output with analog output of 0 -10 VDC. The sensing distance is 200mm to 2200mm and has a one-hertz switching capacity. A 4-pin M12 quick-disconnect is available but we will be wiring in our 2m wired version. Let's get started.
More information can be obtained on our website. This includes all of the links mentioned in this video.

Hello sir, How to connect low voltage sensor to plc please reply the sensor output also low voltage.? What must be the voltage for connecting to plc x pins?

Hi Thaskar, In order to connect low voltage sensors to the PLC, an interposing relay is usually used. This can be mechanical or solid-state. Low voltage is usually referred to less than 5 VDC. accautomation.ca/wiring-interposing-relays/ This post should help you out. Regards, Garry

Actually the thing is I want to connect the raspberry pi output which is 3v to plc . Can it be done by boosting the voltage.?
@ACCautomation
@ACCautomation 3 года назад
@@thaskarthaskaran1425 You would have to look at the specifications of the input of the PLC that you are using. This would be listed as a minimum voltage level. Regards, Garry

@@thaskarthaskaran1425 To interface with a PLC you would either get a relay output board for your raspberry pi or get an interposing relay. www.automationdirect.com/adc/shopping/catalog/relays_-z-_timers/solid_state_relays/socket_mount_relays,_4a_(ad-70s2_series)/ad-70s2-04b This link will show a solid-state relay that has an input of 3-30 VDC input. 8-12mA draw for the input. I hope this helps you out. Regards, Garry

can i connect a vfd to this PLC to adjust the speed of a 3 phase motor please sir answer
@ACCautomation
@ACCautomation 3 года назад
Hi Kinsley, Yes, you can connect to a variable frequency drive and control the speed. Usually, you will have local or remote modes on the VFD. The local mode can control the VFD through digital and analog signals on the PLC. Remote control would usually involve a communication protocol like Modbus TCP, Modbus RTU, Ethernet IP, etc. Here is a video showing Modbus RTU communication to control a 3 phase motor. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-3ZpFqL1200I.html Regards, Garry

Hi Kinsley Jolicoeur, You are missing a lot of information from your question. - How are you communicating with the VFD? - What VFD are you using: Model / Options? - What proximity sensor are you using? Make / Model - What is the sequence of operation of the proximity sensor in relation to the VFD? Here is a link to the five steps for program development. accautomation.ca/five-steps-to-plc-program-development/ It will help you in explaining what you are trying to achieve. Thanks, Garry
