Great video for a high side dimmer. Exactly what I needed to confirm my wiring diagram. Thank you!

Thank you so much for such a clear and uncluttered tutorial. Every other video I've watched had so much extraneous information that had nothing to do with dimmers or lights. This is the first video that actually explained what to do. I'm very familiar with wiring (not trained!) But this project had me stumped...connecting 2 wires to 3! Your video helped me get my lighting done. THANK YOU! Subscribed! 😁

Gets a little tricky when you decide to use the 3 way switch functionality. I purchased one and planned to use it as the first switch in a 3 way circuit. It would not work that way. Turns out the dimmer is wired internally to be on the load side of a 3 way circuit. Something to keep in mind.

Attempting this same switch. At the wall I have access to 2 wires (red/wht) & (Blk/wht). If I'm understanding I must also access the 5 puck light string in the ceiling for the dimmer function to operate? Thanks for your well done video.

My table top demo is with 4 pucks, just very short cables. Extend those lengths to fit your application to your 5 pucks lights and you should be good. Use appropriate gauge wire for your distances. To note, I have a main line with 2 stubs, each stub has 2 pucks, so it's sort of a parallel/series mix, but the voltages are fine with the gauge wire I used so I'm not worried about it. It allows me to take out 1 ceiling segment out by disconnecting that stub from the main line.

Another ? I have a water heater and want to put a plug and switch combo but it needs to also power another plug. How would you wire that combo Thanks

Hi. You will need to know what voltage you are working with and use appropriate wires, switches, and outlets that meet your need.

Great Video , I am in the process of connecting the same dimmer switch to my acegoo lights . They turn on but do not dim is it a non compatible issue or my connection. It seems that I have the same switch and puck lights ( electrical is not my thing)

Thanks for the compliment. Study the wiring diagram of your switch. If you do have the same switch (my pucks are also Acegoo but that shouldn't matter), then you can even pause the video and compare your wiring. It sounds like you have something backward. The high side dimmers are different than low side (which are those typical knobs like the other LED puck light video published just before this one).

Can you add an additional dimmer switch so you can control the lights from two locations in a van?

Not with this model switch. You need 3 way switches and wiring. I have to presume if each 3 way switch has a dimmer function, then yes, but I do not know for certain.

@@VanTransitions If you look on the back of the switch ((switch with dimmer) it has a 3 way “port”. I’m just not sure how to wire it.

I do see this "hole" and section, you may have to reach out to the manufacturer.

Need a handful of the 12 Awg #8 ring connectors and twice as many 14 Awg #8’s. You have to buy too many of each on Amazon. I sent my previous dimmers back and purchased the switch combination you recommended.

It's tough when we need 20 and have to buy a pack of 100! There are options for random numbers of multi-size packs too, but then you end up with extras of sizes you don't need. Cool, ya I really like the ATC on/off toggle with the dimmer slider on the side. It needs a little more room for mounting, but it's a solid mount with 2 screws, the PCA dial doesn't have a guaranteed mounting (seems to me it could loosen easily), which I've heard from other top builders. Your mileage may vary. A future video will be about LED strip lighting, which is also dimmable. I am unsure what switch type I will use for those applications.
