A guy just asked me to show off my armor more. So, Opi Waran, here you are, my man. Seriously though, in the future as I make more armor that improves on what I've learned, would you guys like to see more dedicated videos of just showing it all off? I figure like once I'm satisfied with my 14th century harness, compiling it all like this would be really neat! Same with my late 15th century harness, and so on.
I'd like to point out these have been used heavily before this video was made, so there are endless repairs and scratches all over these gauntlets.

I think it would be cool if these showcases were included at the end of the build videos. That way the viewer eggs to see the results of all the complicated building they sat through, feels more complete. Great style with the music and slow camera movements in my opinion!

That was the alternative, the problem I ran into was just that I was concerned it might be too long to tack onto a video. I guess I'll try both though, thanks!

you have a last say on it but I say, go for it if you want! I love it when you upload videos no matter what they are about!

Holy shit you actually did it! Wow, thanks man! Looks sick! I've been wanting to make gauntlets for myself for a while now and I really like the knuckle plate you made. I kind of find it difficult to create that form. (Not that I've tried it yet, lol) Great video, thanks!

I try my best to deliver when I can haha. The knuckle plate was an interesting part, though I'll admit it wasn't my first try. Just a bit of practice and you'll have no problem!

I would love to see more cinomatic vedeos of your finished armor pieces. On a side note if you ever try to improve the gauntlets in the future you may first want to start with making gloves that are much more form-fitting and Tighter which should almost acts like second layer of skin as your foundation, also extending the overlap of the metal plates underneath to completely close of any gaps would be advisable.

Thanks for the input! I'll admit leather work has never been my strong suite, can't hurt to try though.

a question came to my mind, is it alright to use some wool fabric insted of leather to atach metal plates to?

I think a fabric base could work out, I would recommend using something like the canvas I have used on my coats of plates, since that has proven to be a pretty good foundation.

I also want to make gauntlets but all the steel plate I have at the moment is 3mm. A bit overkill I think

I guess if you're fighting powerhammers then it would probably work pretty well

I thought they were called Visby not Wisby

The city on Gotland is spelled Wisby, Visby is essentially just an english spelling since that's more or less how it's pronounced 🙂

@@LivingManuscript Aaaah. With me being English that makes sense now. I only recently fount out about these gauntlets and I love them as they seem to be the only proper gauntlets of the 13th century. Mail mittens aren't really my thing lol. So these open up some options for a late 13th century crusader costume I want to make.
