Alabama. If they win the first big test, momentum and enthusiasm make just about anything attainable for a team looking to take a step up.

We have no chance against Bama though. My games are USC, Iowa, and Penn St. Need to show that we are not a third tier big ten team by winning 2 of those three.

@@connornighbor1913 I think that’s way too overly optimistic. Keep in mind, most coaches in year one are taking over because a coach got fired. This is not that situation. Bama is a playoff team that hired a coach that is coming off an undefeated season and a national championship appearance. They have more talent at just about every spot on their roster. We may have 3 or 4 starters that I’d take over theirs and that’s being generous. I have no reason to think Deboer will not have that program as a 10+ win team this season.

@@sharpe52312at the end of the day a fumble and a kick return for a touchdown and we win. Also when we played OSU last year we easily could have won that game without a backup QB and a healthy braellon and chez

@@ahills-plays6471 I don’t know if I watched the same team last year as you did. We weren’t close to competing with Ohio State. We haven’t had a kick return in a decade. Our best dynamic athlete is Pauling. They have 10 guys on their team that are more dynamic ball carriers than him. Let’s be realistic. We won 7 games in the big ten west last year. Bama is coming with more NFL talent than we have and it’s not even close.

Welcome back to Wisconsin and the great north, Ryan! Shell Lake used to be stacked at football. Really, really good for a lot of years. Make sure you trek back to Cumberland and the corner bar for some chicken after getting stuff settled. Spent a few weekends years ago on Shell Lake camping right off the main drag. Fun times.

I kinda split between you two on the "importance" list, I'd say @USC, @IA, home PSU in that order. PSU biggest since home game and PSU for the reasons stated, plus a likely night game. Similar to Jusin, I won't include MN because I just expect to beat them, especially this year at home and considering where both programs are. But I absolutely do have MN at the top of the list in terms of pure desire to beat every year.

MN plays PSU the week before so they'll be very beat up, USC plays Michigan the week before Wisconsin PSU plays Ohio State the week after Wisconsin

Wi and PSU games usually go down to the wire and are close games.PSU might have a 5 game winning streak but every game was close few plays here and there it's almost 50 50 last 5 games.

They’re all important in the age of a 12 team playoff (I personally thinking it will get to 16 and the Big will get to 22-24 teams eventually), but it depends. One could say, if you think Oregon, Penn State, Alabama are definitely losses, it would be Iowa, Northwestern, Nebraska. Or, if you think those are winnable games, then they are most important.

Although I agree our recruiting has vastly improved we have a long way to go. I count 15 teams nationally that have more 5/4 stars on their commit list than we do. We need more wins to attract higher ranked recruits.

We have a realistic chance at all these teams. At the end of the day even if you have more talent you don’t always win (Indiana last year). It just depends which side of the upset u get.

1. Alabama. This team; this program; this fan base needs the confidence it would bring. Would give Fickell and crew validation. 2. USC-starting the new Big Ten 3. Iowa-a measuring stick to how much physically this team has improved

I think if Iowa's defense is still outstanding this year, it shows that high 3/low 4 stars are just as good as high 4 & 5 star defenses.

Iowa is loaded once again on defense their issue reminds a bit of Virginia Tech under Beamer when offense struggled

Completely agree. They will have first year growing pains too. Guarantee Fick doesn't think we have no chance against them. Gave Ohio st more than they wanted last year with a team with much less talent than we have this year. If game was at Bama, then I would say not much chance.

Yeah, Ryan's choices in music along with the CD/car accident discussion made you date yourselves. Well, my first car had an 8 track player in it, and I had an adapter to play cassettes that I had recorded off of the radio ... Man, I'd love to see the Badgers beat Bama,. but they would need great play out of their QB.
