I had to chuckle at your comment about the John Deere 5 series being a little one.
@Andy-ix2ox
@Andy-ix2ox 11 месяцев назад
Realistically it is a little one from a farmers point of view, most of those cultivators he was looking at couldn’t even be moved from one part of the yard to another with it as it wouldn’t have enough oil to get them off the ground. I know that a lot of people who watch this show are hobbyists and have smaller gear but most farmers nowadays are looking at 150 to 175 hp for a basic general purpose machine, granted most of us are probably looking at a second hand machine as the new machine is an outrageous price.

Young man last year a guy bought some corn stalks from us. He used fendt tractors. I rode in one of them. A few days later I rode in the neighbor's John Deere it's a few yrs old. The john Deere was a much better tractor! Here in the flat lands of kansas my 4010 John Deere is plenty of tractor to run my old vermeer round baler.

OK you two, when can I purchase one of those High Hillside Acres shirts? Many farm channels have T shirts but those collar, golf type shirts you guys are wearing are a huge step above the rest. I'm an acoustic musician in Nashville, TN and I would actually wear that shirt to perform in - it looks that good to me. I LOVE the embroidered logo w/ Holstein. Very classy design!!

Haven’t been to farm tech days in many years, but going to my local county fair. Walking through the latest an greatest in machinery is just unbelievable. All though my eyes did spot a restored case agri king black knight. I knew the owner of it .

We have a little wire welder works great runs on 110 or 220 great for taking to machinery or in confinement buildings. We run flux core wire rather than bottle gas. One of the best shop tools we bought.

Really good show. Missed seeing any saw mill for you and your dad. I see Brillion still makes the sure stand seeder for alfalfa. Always heard those are the best for new alfalfa stands. No moldboard plows probably like 50 years ago. Equipment has changed sooo much but I still like to see it so thanks sooo much for taking us along on the video. Really enjoyed it.

In Ohio we have the Farm Science Review coming up in September. It’s pretty much the same thing. It’s huge, but I find it so impractical with all the million dollar machines, I don’t go anymore. I was interested in the cow brushes. Cows love those things! BTW- nice shirts.

A few things: -Always enjoy the videos and if anyone can visit the general area, please do, incredible experience, and before the cities take over... - The whole roller thing, never been a big fan, especially the rock suppression concept but if it works, it works. -Since you have a variety of tractor styles, can you do a vid on all the different ways of shifting, types, on the go, etc.. I've been in hundreds of types of tractors and it can be the thing that I pay the most attention to but an internal dialogue of cursing to go along with. Thanks always!

The tech used in farm equipment today is so mind blowing. I left the dairy farm in the late eighties and the changes are so amazing, but the theory is the same. Our Hesston Rounder baler had a pull rope for wrapping the bales in twine.

I would love to stop by your farm sometime and get some drone footage for you. I live in Black River Falls and would be interested in getting some footage of your farm and field activities. I grew up in the Franklin area and appreciate and understand the difficulties of hillside farming.

I use to travel 90 and 94 all the time as a line haul truck driver. I thought I had better come back and add: the reason I mention this is because Baraboo is just off I-90.// I have noticed a lot of farmers are switching to "Arts Way" manure spreaders.

Lots of things to take in ...wonder where the innovations/and size will end on some of this machinery. The boys took me along to the Ohio Farm Science Review last year. Lots of things to see and do. We only got through the exhibit area. They also do field demos on corn and soybean harvest. In another area they do tiling demonstrations. Almost like walking into a fantasy world...then when you leave, it's back to reality. Always interesting to see some of the older equipment to keep things in perspective on how far engineering has advanced!!!
