So many comments identifying that this is used as their school's fight song. This is the original from 1909. John Philip Sousa called it "the finest of college marching songs" and due to it now being in public domain, over 2,000 schools are using it because it indeed is the best. William T. Purdy, although originally writing this tune intending to use it in a competition for a new song for the U of MN in 1909, instead gave it to the University of Wisconsin to use. The lyrics were then written that same year by Carl Beck. So you are hearing the original here. And now you know.
Fun fact I found out both this and the Southern Cal Fight On can be heard during the escape sequence following the archery tournament in the Animated Disney Classic “Robin Hood”.
@@kayleemiller5166, thank you for your support! Yall's Iron Brigade fighting spirit carries on to today- along with Yall's personality and charm. People from Wisconsin are awesome! Singned- A Bammer
Kelso high school in Washington uses this as their fight song. I don't go there, but I've heard them play it when my football team visited, because our pep band came to support them. My schools fight song Is the same as Oregon state (OSU) and I go to Prairie HS which is only about 45 minutes away from kelso, so I've heard this a lot.
I think at least a third of all high schools in Texas use this as their fight song, including mine. And why not, it's a great fight song. Another third use Michigan's. What's funny is when two schools use the same one. Gets a little confusing.
This is my school's fight song. It's performed differently though. For any one who knows anything about music, our school song is played a couple pitches lower than this one.
Channelview High School in Texas uses this as their fight song. Although I don’t go there, I would always hear them play it when the football team at my school would go play against them and the pep band which I am in goes to support them. Our fight song is the Notre Dame Victory March, and since we were only about a 20 minute drive from them we compete against them every year.

Went to lots of games at camp Randall and saw a lot of these guys live. I don't know if any of you remember Jack Russell, the kicker, we were very good friends in elementary school. One of my teachers was woken up at 2:30 in the morning from her son's fighting so the next morning she woke up and sang this song at the top of her lungs clapping her hands beating the wall waking up her son's and she said " Now you see how rediculuas it looks when you wake people up at 2 now when you pry your nails out of the ceiling come down for breakfast
This may be the only instance where the fight song is the same melody as the song for the entire state! The only other one I can think of that would work for this purpose is the one for Mississippi.
My high schools fight song is this. " Onward Woodgrove Onward Woodgrove Fighting Wolverines, We Your Loyal Sons And Daughters Of The Blue And Green, ( U RAH RAH) Onward Woodgrove Fight On For Her Fame, Fight Woodgrove Fight, Fight, Fight We'll win this game.
