My wife and I could never agree on paint color, fabric for drapes etc. We finally hired an interior designer as a referee. The lady did a great job of helping us compromise with the samples she presented. Worth every penny and she got us some great discounts, so the overall cost may have been less.

I'm so glad to hear of your success. We've worked with fantastic designers and very poor ones. I guess you have to find one who's competent and stick with them.

hahaha Its so true about bringing someone or a "committee" to help choose colours for your own window especially when its all new so much to pick from. Its super great when you can ask ask someone like you two at the glass store for thoughts.. Ive had great help when just saying what was doing but just looking for something say"bright" maybe in the "greens" and be given great things to consider and even a whole different colour at times that i never would have thought of... Its funny you mention the client who has the experience for just a few minutes each day where its to intense for him but loves it all the other times... I made a window and picked a dark dark purple red that is nice but dark and i really look forward to when i catch the little time window when the sun goes directly through it and the colour bright and just amazing!

Not to mention how drastically colors change during the day as the quality of light changes. This is why it's unfortunate to work with folks who are so ridgid that they want an "exact" match. This isn't the paint store and even paint changes depending on the lighting.
