How long have you been a nurse, what’s your specialty and if you do plan on leaving the bedside, why?? I would love to get your take on this topic below ⬇️ ❤
I’ve been an RN for 23 years. I’m currently a Corporate Nurse Consultant for a Dialysis company. I work from home and oversee quality, regulatory and training for 30 dialysis clinics throughout the US. I do travel to these clinics as needed. I absolutely love my job!!!
@@kiearacelinasure, you would have to get experience as a dialysis nurse in the clinic first and basically work your way up. I can refer anybody that interested in trying out the field. We have clinics in 27 states.
I’m a new grad OR nurse (now have been working as an RN for 6 months). I went into nursing school knowing I wanted to do this and knew I’d never be at the bedside. A lot of my classmates and instructors kind of had the “ya right” attitude, but I made sure of it… I networked, worked as an anesthesia tech instead of as a PCT (well I did for about 10 months of nursing school), shadowed surgeons and OR nurses, and was able to get an OR nurse job not in a residency. I did not have a job upon graduation when many of my classmates had one going into their last semester but I secured it after Christmas, it was scary financially not having anything lined up, and it was nice because I was able to start whenever I want and I said a week after the NCLEX assuming I pass, and that’s what I did! I also work in the specialty I wanted which is orthopedics! I literally love my job, and where I work I am so privileged with our call and holiday schedule.
This is AMAZING!! I absolutely love that for you, God is good! Don’t ever let anyone tell you cant do something. I’m happy you found your calling and that you are treated well and valued where you work. I wish this upon all nurses. Best of luck going forward and congrats on passing Nclex 💗✨
great video! bedside nursing will burn you out so fast. I wanted to add options for LPN's/LVN's too: Dialysis nurse, congregate homes, outpatient centers, director of staffing. Nursing homes are not your only options!
I was a float nurse, then worked in the cath lab, and now I work in an addiction treatment center. Don’t be afraid to move jobs and maximize your income
@@kiearacelina Hey also if you haven’t already done a video on nursing pay as far as what we should accept as an LPN and or RN new grad. Or an RN with LPN experience. I guess negotiating. Thanks
Yes, please bring you’re friend on here and do an interview so we can learn more about holistic nursing. I would love to get into holistic nursing! Thank you for this video ❤😊 and a part 2 is always helpful 😁
Not that I know of but, I may be wrong. Check out your area and see what the requirement are or, hopefully and LNC can see this and correct me or give us more details
@@dominiquehaynes7208 I ended up privating it girl, lol. I feel like a lot of feathers are going to be ruffled … I want to attach an audience of people who I can share my journey with but, I feel that video may attract the wrong audience and I don’t want that. I’m not sure if I’m self sabotaging but, I may need to pray on it a bit..
How can i get out of the teaching field. I want to be a nurse. I have to work full time. A lot of nursing programs won’t allow me to work full time. I enjoy working with kids. I just don’t enjoy teaching. 🤦🏾♀️
@@kaylahood1000 Sounds like a future school nurse 🥰 It’s going to be really tricky since you have no nursing experience. If you were an LPN, you could possibly do the RN online but, since you’re just going in, clinicals and labs will require your presence. My advice would be to stack up some money, and either 1: Go for the LPN route and work as a cna in a pediatric hospital so you can still be with kids and make money while in school (after the first semester of nursing school, you can work as a cna) then you can bridge to RN afterwards online or hybrid 2: Do the same thing with the RN route..
Hey do you know in my hospital there’s nuts practitioners with bedside jobs ? I’ve heard some reasons such as I don’t want to lose my skills , I have no skills yet, and I just miss being around patients. It’s so interesting
