I thought at my age of 64 I thought I would have grown out of Wishbone Ash- but their music is still like sweet custard to my ears, and still will be at 84 years of age.

Finally got to see them live in Houston 2015, it was in a small place and ZZ Top was playing a huge venue about 5 miles away , plus there was a championship boxing title that night so the place wasn't packed at all, but they rocked! After the show they all came out and hung out with people and signing autographs.

Heard Wishbone Ash for the first time back in the 70's. Saw them in Miami Fl in 1976, they were touring Live Dates. They were flawless in their performance. Too me one of the greatest bands ever. Very underated if you ask me.

I got this double LP back in 1974 and discovered this absolutely amazing version of Phoenix. Unbelievably perfect in the execution by the twin guitars of Andy and Ted, not forgetting the rhythm section holding down the fort at the back. This is without doubt one of the best live performances ever. The only other such live performance I could mention is "Lost Woman" by The James Gang Live in Concert.

My school friend used to listen to Sounds of the 70s when she went to sleep at night. She told me about this amazing song called Phoenix. We became hooked on Wishbone Ash. They were at the top of their game in the 70s. Pity about the fall out :(

Wishbone Ash were brilliantly unique and I don't believe that this uniqueness will ever be matched by any artist again. Four incredible musicians all in harmony with each other, producing more beauty from their guitars than any other Rock Band of the time; before or after. There is more emotion and more feel from these fabulous guitarists, with beautiful guitar effects almost throughout their 'Live Dates' album and the production is both beautiful and balanced throughout. Martin Turners Bass is imaginative and as unique as Ted Turner and Andy Powell's Guitar's. Wishbone Ash themselves said that their Drummer Steve Upton was as important to them as John Bonham was in Led Zeppelin and he certainly was. This performance of Phoenix is untrue and will always be GREAT and In its own way, this could be Wishbone Ash's 'Stairway to Heaven'.

A classic guitar jam , as good as it get , saw this bad with the original lineup twice in St Paul MN , in 74-76. Sweet concerts. 20,000 on there feet , smoke , toke, and other enjoyable substances. Best time of my life. Something I rememberd was they had said that this was the last your will original members, I know they said who was leaving, but it was 45 years ago. For me , this is THE best song , in it's best recording . From the second part and on , when the rhythm picks up , I can clearly imagine a Phoenix bird flying , gradually being set ablaze and burning down and then , in the third part , "rising up from the cinders" ,as the verse goes , and as the myth describes it !
