Join Kew Horticulturist, Richard Moore on a short walk taking a look at one of the most famous specimens of Wisteria sinensis in the UK in full flower! The story behind this particular specimen is absolutely fascinating; this historically important specimen trained over a very old iron frame creates the most magical flower covered arbour. When in flower the air becomes filled with a wonderful sweet aroma and when entering this floral arbour you instantly feel the atmosphere change as the sun gently shines through thousands of purple petals, dappling the space with beautiful colours. Its a place where the mind instantly feels calmed and the mesmerising shapes, colours, textures and heavenly aroma clear your thoughts.
With the gates closed and no visitors to enjoy the gardens and beautiful plants coming into bloom I'd like to share as much of the gardens with everyone who can't be here. The gardens are such a peaceful place to be and i'm very fortunate to be here amongst it all so I hope I can bring as much of the gardens to you to enjoy.
