And it’s basically a cookie cutter copy (pun not intended) of the premise: randomly find abandoned and destroyed house and do puzzles to fix it. I also agree that this game has THE WORST gacha, even the whales will struggle.

I agree with you with a lot of the things you’ve mentioned, the Gacha system is an absolute hell, I feel like it would’ve worked better, if they did all the things in separate Gacha, like a furniture Gacha and resident Gacha, so you can save for the one you want and not have to pray to the luck gods I’m probably gonna delete the game after I finish chapter 1 to get witch berry in kingdom

No matter what bad may happen with the cookie run franchise, you can bet your ass their artists will do their fucking jobs They got some real good people in there Otherwise, id say make the levels trully random in terms of layouts while have them reset at the end of a full day, so that people dont go too far and just get bopped by the difficulty. I think that would fix some issues I got raddish, she cute i guess No way in hell ill be able to get witchberry tell you that for free

What makes the dice gacha even worse, is that the only way of getting a (almost) guaranteed epic cookie is by getting a triple match as seen at 11:34 And even then you can still very easily get screwed over by an unlucky spin.

I agree bc tbh I always had problems with candy crush stuff or yk these types of games that I can never pass bc of how freaking hard and stressful/annoying it is sometimes or definitely alot of times😭☠️

I played this just to get Witchberry in Kingdom... But hot damn they need to do some huge player friendly changes or its going to be dead in the water. Also the "leaderboard" thing you mentioned it just pairing only 5 people and only meassures how many blocks you and the other people have broken from that point forward it aint gloabl leaderboards 😂

The levels are pretty agagahahhah- I’m on level 59 and I quite literally cannot progress through the story until I get more crystals- and there’s not a lot of ways to get those easily. So I literally cannot continue the story until my cookie rooms generate enough diamonds and those take FOREVER to generate enough of. And it makes me upset because the story is nice, but I can’t do anything without crystals that generate like every 30 minutes. I hope they do nerf the levels at some point because it makes the game way too hard.

Wait, so I wasn't being crazy with half of my issues regarding Witch's Castle? Oh my goodness that's a relief.

I have made it into episode 2, and have not spent any money on the game. The events, win streak mechanic, and digging for lucky runs on harder levels have allowed me to conserve a fair amount of items (not all of them though, because items are meant to be used at the end of the day). At the end of the day this genre of puzzle game is designed around making the player get impatient and want to spend money to get by, which is what I expected going in. Would I be happy seeing improvements? Yes. Do I expect the game to become F2P friendly first and profit hunting second? Probably not, especially considering that Devsis has been losing money and is likely looking to get that back on track

If we complained that getting a super epic in crk was tedious and difficult...then look at how difficult it is to get an epic in crwc

Yep, I agree with everything here. The story is good. The art is like kingdoms, and the gameplay and gacha suck. However, good news on the horizon. I decided to look at the news feed in-game and saw that they are planning a few good decisions for the game. The first thing I saw is that they are removing souldrops from the cookie gacha and will fill in cookies for players who got souldrops previously. I think they are also raising the number of coins you get for levels, too. However, the update isn't until april 1st for whatever reason, so it will be a while. I would recommend checking out Cookie Run Puzzle World if just to see what a good cookie run puzzle game is. It does cookie skills really well, its difficulty curve is reasonable, and the best part is that it has no cookie gacha. (It has a pet gacha, but that gacha really isn't annoying.) Side note: I do actually really like the gacha in the witches castle for how it works, but not its rates. I love how it's got a little dice minigame, but with how little you get rewards, it sucks. I do want to see this gacha in another game if it was balanced correctly.

Tbh I think that if I hadn't been as lucky as I have been with the gacha (or as driven to get werewolf due to emotional attachment) I probably would have stopped playing a while back. I actually feel bad that you need so much luck to get anything and that's really not fair to people :(

I legit got stuck on level 60 and 70 for a while, I was so thankful that Chapter 1 ended at level 70, cuz I legit thought I need to beat or pass level 100 😭 Also, I agree with Gingerbright, I was not expecting her to have that personality lol, but it kinda makes sense with her name; would always see the brightest in the stickiest situations

By the way, a lot of devices can't even run the game (I have to use an emulator), so that already pushes a lot of the ovenbreak/kingdom userbase out of the game

Really good video btw. I agree with a lot of your comments - to be fair, I am not a fan of the candy crush gameplay to begin with. But having to reset a level multiple times because the rng decided to place the blocks differenty was REALLY frustrating, and there are loads of futures that make the game just.. painful to play. Gatcha to play a gatcha being one of them. The stop motion sequence at the start WAS gorgeous tho, I agree with that for sure. Still, that was a very easy game to uninstall for me.

Same, I too have my Vamp. They better improve everything soon, and pray they add Purple Yam Cookie too so me and my Vampie wouldn't be alone anymore in this mess...

For a while, I thought the reason for me being stuck on levels was just me being bad at the game…until I saw other people commenting on how they’re stuck on other levels and how the difficulty suddenly spikes so now I feel better about myself But omg Level 89 is THE BANE OF MY EXISTENCE! That and the TERRIBLE gacha system made me realise that this game absolutely sucks…

The arrow is just like any other game like candy crush but witches castle is harder you can't even watch ads to get more turns.

I got this game basically just for the exclusive decors for Kingdom, but accidentaly started playing and I got past level 100 and something-or-other and I think I'm gingerb-ready to die. Gingerbright giving "Cracker Barrel Arson Charge" energy is nice, but it's not enough to get me to keep this wretched fuckin app downloaded.

While I do agree that the Gacha System is scummy for making it so you need to basically win twice to get something good, I don't think they'll let you purposefully choose a Cookie since that breaks their whole "Luck Gacha Game Addiction Mindset". What I'd barter for instead at the least is that after getting a match of Cookies on the dice, you'll ALWAYS get a new one. I know people would like to get repeats to promote the Cookies, but I think it's better to widen your arsenal first. Dozer is singlehandedly carrying this game tbh-

The fucking gacha. The season pass. Consistently getting 200 gacha coins or whatever if you pay for the pass but 30 without?? When each gacha pull is 100 with very low chances?? Impossible to f2p. This game hates us. And that one 3 bucks (in my country) thing you HAVE to pay to have access to the rest of -most of- the resources Edit: bruh didn’t even realize the productions were temporary

This feels like a game a boomer would play, I am only playing it for the crossover even for kingdom. The game feels so repetitive, I would die before I make it to level 1000.

I managed to go to lv417 in all the time; after lv100 the game is a breeze... mostly. The game has potential but the resources are SO scarce, especially potions 😭

You have to either get 2 color bears or rocket + bomb to win most levels (also I missed the last rewards for Ovenbreak because I was asleep..)

I got stuck at lvl 56 without using anything for any levels. Level 56 I always use angel cookie to destory the chocolatey biscuits in the middle because I'm constantly losing because I never get enough candycorns. I lose EVERY time because I need around 16-12-10 candycorn and only have 2 moves left when I actually try to focus on getting candycorns after breaking all the biscuits. This is honestly INSANE for someone who's a free player

I think devsister is a good artist, but not-so-good level designer. Almost all of the reviews say the game is too hard BUT the art is nice.

im on level 166 (please im suffering so hard they keep adding even more annoying obstacles to many the game even harder the most recent one I got was these green things that you have to hit two times in a row to get rid of them otherwise it RESETS)

I hate these types of games and the fact that they decided to create an app of this with my favorite series makes it even more disappointing because I won't ever get any piece of lore myself because I would have to play *a lot* of levels in order to get a *fraction* of the story and that's frustrating! 😤

I only played just for the crk theme and oh my god that one level that you have to collect a 100 lamps in ONLY 20 moves and let me tell you that i almost give up

I feel like I’m the only person who hasn’t really struggled on many levels, and I have 15 cookies. The only money I’ve spent is on the battle pass thing. I do hate the wonky decoration mechanics, and I agree with the bad gacha mechanics, but this is my first Cookie Run game and I’m loving it.

I only went to play this game to get the Jelly Set in Ovenbreak lol. Like any Candy Crush type game it is extremely luck based with the game begging you to spend money to clear the levels. It's why OB is the only CR game i still play because its very friendly towards free players.

I downloaded this game and say the complaints and now have no interest in playing. Which is a shame because I like the new story, and characters especially witchberry, Danish, and cream cookie but the gameplay and gache are terrible. I want them to fix the game so these characters don’t disappear in the void.

I feel the worst part is definitely the impression that, after 30 attemps, you beat a level only by luck and not because of your skills. This is a very wrong sign for level design

Where do I even start... the reliance on RNG, some levels being basically impossible without using boosts, the gacha making me feel more like a gambling addict than any other games'... I got witchberry cookie by cheating the "invite a friend" thing they just released and I still feel empty inside. Got a feeling the game isn't gonna have a long life span at all lol.

whats crazy is that if this was he only new game devsis was working on insead of like 4 or more different new games it probably wouldve been actually good because they wouldve had a decent development team

bear jelly and power up combo is actually really good, it just depends on the color of the bear jelly, if it's green you need to stock up green blocks etc it's especially good for the hedgehog levels

Also the gacha system in this game is indeed as trash as it is. I dont know how many time I have malded dying to get a single, A SINGLE cookie win😭

For everyone stuck in the 90s, it doesn’t get better. Somehow, through pure dumb luck, I made it to Level 100. And it’s the stupidest level I’ve seen thus far. The objectives are Jelly Frogs, Wafer Blocks, and Candy Corn. The blocks and corn aren’t that bad, it’s actually pretty standard to get those. No, the real problem are the frogs. They decided to stuff all the frogs in the 1 of 100. Separated from the 0s, blocks, and jack-o-lanterns. The only way to hit the frogs is via power-ups (stupidly expensive) Cookie Skills (I only have like 5 cookies at this point) and fireworks. Oh god, THE FIREWORKS. The only way to get Fireworks is to get a big enough block collection. Already a bit hard given the aforementioned blocks, but it gets even harder once you actually get a firework. If it’s horizontal? Congrats, you have 1 singular chance to hit one out of the 16 frogs. If it’s vertical? About as useful as a paperweight made of feathers. TLDR: Level 100 is a nightmare.

Initially, I was excited to play this, I was hoping it would be like Tower of Adventures or something similar but oh my god to say I was disappointed is an understatement. I really thought it would really be an extremely story driven based game from the pre-register WHEN ITS LITERALLY THEIR SECOND ATTEMPT AT A CANDY CRUSH GAME?? Not only that but there are so many things wrong with it, the gacha system is awful, it feels really pay to win on its release, and it's hard to progress without having to spend money or just consistently play until you pass ONE LEVEL. I play some extremely pay-to-win feeling games (Omniheroes, lol) but even then, it's not required for you to spend because you'll eventually be able to get your resources to progress. Witch's Castle on the other hand, you literally cannot do anything to progress once you hit a roadblock, and that sucks!

I’m past Level 100, but the levels after are seriously becoming brutal. I loge the story believe me. But the problem is the game is not generous to new users, and it seems way more P2W compared to other games. Sometimes I’m literally 1 or 2 moves short, and then I have to start the whole puzzle all over again.

When I got Witchberry in Oven Break, I immediately deleted Witches Castle. If they don't change the game play, I'm just following the lore off another channel.

Difficultly curve going up exponentially was not fun, I despise the hedgehog levels they really aren’t fun when your ability to win is luck based on the how the tile layout goes. Like I can kinda strategize and figure other levels with the jelly screen wipes but the hedgehogs are infuriating because the need to be hit twice in a row or blown up by a bomb right next to it

I’ve seen TWO PEOPLE get a duplicate vampire cookies from the special epic cookie gacha and I’m so happy I got a new epic when that happened to me

I think my biggest complaint is the decor

The one thing I hate the most is that it only swaps the colors when there are no more moves you can make, it won’t swap it if there is that one move in the corner that will do absolutely nothing for you if you click it. Then you have to waste 5 moves to do anything.
