I was drawn to witchcraft because of the acceptance and 'do what thou wilt' belief that doesn't happen in a lot of the Christian communities. So, to see this 'you have to do it only THIS way' bleeding over into the crafts is really disheartening. After 50 years in the craft, this is the cattiest I have seen the community. I say 'oh, well', I'm going to keep doing what is right and true for me and continuing with my path with growth and what is true for my heart. I hope you are starting to feel better as the seasons pass. XO

Anyone who says they've never doubted themselves is someone I am not interested in listening to or following, they have no way to understand my journey or experiences. I'm not interested in perfection, I'm interested in learning how people overcame.

I think all the attention the scene is getting is great. The friction and conflict will help people reach new heights in the craft. How can we grow if we're not challenged? Just stay true to yourself, and things will be fine 🤘

Your video popped up on autoplay so I listened in again. Burn out and anxiety is REAL rn for me as well. And at the worst time...spring break vacation haha. Trying to find balance has been rough but hearing that we all have our ups and downs, some of us at the same time, was very comforting. I hope you are doing better. Every day gets lighter. Thank you for saying it out loud, the thing that I do, as far as, 'Someone else already did it better, so why try?' I say this to myself during my musical practice, and it keeps me from putting myself out there. You, addressing it, will help keep me aware when I find myself going down that path. Thank you.

Its nice to hear things like this coz I've been chronically ill for over a year now so my practice has had to take a back seat all together along with my entire life tbh :( I've now been diagnosed with fibromyalgia and apart from a few protection spells here and there its nothing like it once was :( I am doing better now but its funny coz even something like illness can make u feel bad about urself (I've not wanted to practice whilst my energy has been so off and my aura so black coz I believe that things can go wrong and backfire) I think its about being gentle with yourself and giving urself time, I've been through a lot so u gotta give urself a break sometimes.

If someone hears 'we have doubts' and their go-to is 'I've never doubted myself', great! You have excellent self-esteem and zero empathy. And I doubt the self-esteem if you felt the need to centre yourself in a topic that clearly doesn't relate to you.

I've watched three or four videos on this now and it's been really interesting. We're all on a very similar wave with everything, and it's nice to feel that I'm not insane lol. I've been off of social media a long time now and it's helped my practice massively, and it's helped me figure out where I sit with it and what I'm capable of. I still use tumblr and pinterest for a lot of information as I don't know any other practitioners irl, so it's something I'm definitely on the lookout for.

Yeah there's like a lot of double standards, for the case of "gatekeeping" i think it's important to remember that some procedures may have been given to us in secrecy oath, in initiations or by familiar traditions. In that case I always try to give options, for example if I have a "secret" technique for something I like to talk about options for example in the case of herbs for consecrating tools I redirect the interested person to books I have read and know but I don't even mention that in my tradition I have a certain set of things we believe to be special, most things that we do in witchcraft have several ways of being accomplished so gatekeeping is kinda nonsense

I go thru a lot of high productivity followed by burnout with anything really. I suspect it's just how I am built. I try to even things out by scheduling rest. I'm a graphic designer too. I am also adhd.

I hear that, starting a deity journey like that can be daunting. But some good news is there are a lot of books and resources on Hekatean devotion/practices! Every author and practitioner will likely have a different take/approach on it but there should be some good stuff to at least give you some more inspiration and confidence in getting started ✨

@@XristiWitch I’ve been reading Jason Millers book and it’s definitely been helpful, and obviously I asked Santisima Muerte if she would allow me to start my devotion to Hekate and so far I think she seems to be ok with the idea of it.
