How Hollywood has not capitalised on the popularity of The Darkness and Witchblade in this time where comic book movies are at their peak is beyond me.
It was cool seeing Stjepan Sejic's art for Witchblade included in the screenshots from the comics. I always really liked his style of art. Always really detailed.
Personally I think Hollywood should stay away from ever making more live action comic book movies ever again it’s always hard for them plus it’s best adapted when animated even tho it takes more time u feel as which the animators work harder and deserve more recognition
I would love an animated series that captures the Michael Turner style art. I always pictured Jennifer Hale as the voice of Sara Pezzini. But I want a Darkness animated show first.
Sadly the live action series suffered from the fact that Yance butler was a chronic alcoholic and even with the studio trying to help her she couldn't stay sober I really liked the series and even the cheesy SFX I'd like to see a reboot.
Dude, she's still kicking. Also, another adaptation could be super dope. It's just a matter of staying faithful to the source material while not getting bogged down by period specific datedness. It's gonna be difficult to see it done well. I'm a little skeptical simply based on the anime adaptation. It's not like Japanese artists haven't adapted or improved on overseas media. Maybe this franchise is best left alone. Witchblade was heavily influenced on other works and has gone on to heavily influence other works. It could be best to leave it be.
@@lL338 I knew she was still around and I think she even managed to finally recover. I think that this might be a good time for a reboot as long as they respect the lore I mean look at the Swamp Thing great story brilliant SFX brought the character to life it could be great as long as they avoid trying to make a political point. I think the SFX can support the whitchblade it's self and I'd love to see Yance do a cameo because I think her performance was one of the highpoints of the show.
@@lL338 It was amazing dark, gothic, creepy as hell at time, and true to the character (I'm talking the new tv show the older show was fun in it's own way) they realised the character perfectly with tight writing good acting top notch SFX you could almost smell the swamp the best DC show hands down ...so they can it after one season
It was indirectly with The Darkness 1&2 but a game with the witch blade would have been nice but at least we got 2 seasons of a live action in the early 2000 and an anime so count your blessings.
The Darkness game still rocks, but they should do a big game with most of the image cast by chapters and then unlocking different characters for every scenario.
Had this series in a dvd set. One of my favorite things to watch growing up and then I learned about the comic. I still have yet to read any of it though.
I know some people I know it's probably not exactly connected probably not even the same plot but there is a witchblade anime which is actually pretty good
Man, i loved the comics. but i cant remember for the life of me, where i lost the first issues of the comics... -.- probably somewhere in the attic or some weird place
Do more Image Comics from the 90s... - Wetworks - Wild C.A.T.S. - Team 7 - Gen 13 Also, Dark Horse Comics, like... - Age of Reptiles - Zombie World: Champion of the Worms
The Japanese anime version of witchblade was the only version witch blade i ever watched it's my favorite version of witchblade it was very good but also had a very sad ending i always wanted another anime season of it but i know it won't happen because it was originally a comic book and tv series before it was made into an anime
I don't know too much about Witchblade, but I take it shes a Anti Hero instead of by the book hero? I mean she once took a Pedophile to place to be killed by a creature, when she could just as easily forced him to turn himself into the police and confess to his crimes. As much as the sick pervert deserved to die thats sounds like something a Anti Hero would do rather then a straight forward one.
Before I knew that the witchblade was the child of the darkness and the angelus, I used to ship a union between the host of the witchblade and the host of the darkness… I always got weird looks in the comic book store when I said it out loud during conversations … when I found out that the witchblade was the offspring I understood the weird looks smh
@@vicferger unless you're a female comic fan... seriously a good thing the Witchblade comes with a healing factor as in combat she should have died multiple times! Armor that does not cover vital organs is not armor!!
@@crystaljones1935 The armor is not a problem. First: she is a fictional character. Second: witchblade had female writers and readers. Christina Z has a good work. And there are women that enjoy with sexy heroines.
Considering the stuff people who cry about the sjw boogeyman constantly whine about, a movie or show would be called "wOkE" and filled with "SjW" stuff if it was accurately adapted. 😂
