Witcher 3: The Worst Ending - Killing the Werewolf 

Ciri is dead, radovid torches magical folk, brina bran’s plot succeeds. Man, you really wanted the most absolute shit ending didn’t you?

" No it won't, my daughter is dead " when Geralt said that, he looked so old... so broken. =(

Those ghouls and drowners are like level 4 Geralt is in no danger

If I got this ending, I would have deleted my save file and started over immediately.

You lie, I don't feel anything anymore " I don't know why but this is a very haunting line.

Despite all the hugs and kisses and emotional stuff in this game, somehow this conversation between the wolf and Geralt was way more touching and a tad too real. Reminds you how harsh reality really is and how mere circumstances can force you to do actions you might regret. Touching enough to reach even the staunchest cynic.

Imagine how awkward the conversation between avallac and geralt must have been after ciri leaves them there. “Sooo... awful weather, huh geralt?”

When I think of the true villains of Witcher 3 I won't think of the Wild Hunt or Eredin, it will always be the Crones, but my god were they so well made.

I know this is considered the "bad ending", but I really love it. Haunting, poetic, and strangely beautiful. Geralt roaring as he throws the sword through the Crone is a top 5 Witcher moment.

*Gets to the top of the mountain after defeating the hunt and hundreds of monsters Avallach - "So unfortunate, I had hoped you wou- Geralt "How about a game of Gwent?" Avallach - "What" Ciri - "what" Geralt "what"?

"what would you know about saving the world, silly? You're but a Witcher." I mean...I killed Eredin, Caranthir and Imireth(however you spell his name) so you'd think I'd be due SOME credit atleast. No? Ok..

I love when he throws the sword Conan style into the witches back

As much as I hate seeing this, it's also a really powerful ending. Shows how much effort they put into each one.

"That, is my dear reader, the story of the witchers and the girl they raised, No Witcher ever died in his bed, With Vesemer Lambert and Ciri gone, the Great Geralt of Rivia had to join them, finishing the sad story they started" They should've put that in the Ending Variation.

With this Ending Geralt turns into a fucking monster, How he kills the hag you can tell is done with pure hate, He's truly broken when he finds Ciri's Pendant, A bad ending for me since I personally cared for the characters during my playthrough but an excellent ending simply from a story point of view

And so our hero Gerald of Riva from the Wolf School eventually became cold and heartless. Some said the hero eventually grew to have a heart of stone.

my first play-through - Baron hanged himself, killed Keira myself, Nilfgardians won, Cerrys became the queen, Ciri Died, Geralt died.. I've watched the ending credits scrolling for 5 or 10 minutes could not move almost cried, well, who am I kidding - cried =).. Damn that was a best game I ever played... Decided to go through the second time before the DLC - Baron Lived, Keira went with Lambert, Radovid won and killed all the non humans, Ciri became the Witcher, Geralt and Yen lived happily ever after. To be honest, the first ending did a greater impact. Still the best game, not the best RPG, not best of 2015 - _the_best_. Waiting for blood and wine and cyberpunk, CD Project Red, I bow my head to thee.

I wish there was an option to go with Ciri to hunt down that last witch after she seals away White Frost. Oh well :/

Sucks Ciri and Geralt died in this ending, but it didn't hurt quite so bad as seeing the image of that nice old pellar from Blackbough burning at the stake. :(

This ending hit me hard. I was depressed for a week. During this time, I was going through the hardest time in my life. At the time, this was the perfect ending for me. I related to both the Werewolf and Geralt at such a high Level. "I used to dream Wolf dreams, now I dream of Hunger, Pain and Blood" This line hit me hard. At the time, I was going through a Drug Induced Schizophrenic episode that lasted two years. FINALLY after so long, I recovered. When I played this game, this hit me like a truck, I related to the Werewolf so much. I used to be carefree, But I'd be tortured mentally so bad, that I would pass out from exhaustion because I was terrified to sleep. Then with Geralt losing everything and being surrounded by hordes of monsters? I felt that. I was also completely overwhelmed by my own monsters and I felt them closing in on me every day. But one day, I decided I was done being afraid. Mentally I stopped being scared and I fought back. I conquered my demons and now I am a much stronger man than I was before. I lost 100lbs, Went to the Gym and became the strongest I've ever been. Got a great job, a brand new car, where as everyone I grew up with got stuck on hard drugs. So this ending was the most true to me. But I have to say the way I got this ending is pretty shitty. Apparently I got this bad Ending because I told her "No" when she wanted to steal a horse. Common sense. I disagree that you should have to agree with Ciri with EVERYTHING she does. That's not true parenting. To be punished for telling her "No" is somewhat rediculous. It's not so much the Players fault for the bad ending, but really, a flaw in Ciri's character. Which is fine, because I loved her character a lot, and even felt like a Father Figure to her. Which is impressive a game can give you that feeling for a Character.

I just barely dodged this ending. I didn't let her trash the lab and I went with her to talk to the lodge. If I had fucked one more decision up I would have gotten this ending.

I got this ending on my first playthrough. After the ending I didn't feel like playing the game anymore (still had B&W to play) and just then I realized how hard it must be to keep on living after losing someone you love. In a weird way after realizing that I felt like I had to finish it even though I hated the ending, I faced it like if I couldn't load an older save and do the last mission again, I faced like if it was real.

Wow, never saw Geralt angry like this.

Daaamn... This Is actually the worst ending, my first ending was ciri becoming a witcher

dang.... imagine getting this ending along with letting keira go to radovid... D: if I got that on my 1st walkthrough, I might've quit the game. o.o

Seeing how wrong everything could have gone makes me feel even more rewarded for doing things the "right way" my first go through, without looking up how to get the good endings. This ending is tragic, ciri becoming empress is bittersweet, and my ending is the happiest, but they are all amazingly crafted.

After this, people called him 'the butcher of crookback bog' as he killed all that pile of shit in rage. they should make this reference in DLC if we got this ending

And so our journey through the Witcher 3 comes to an end! Until the expansion which comes out in a week or so :P

Even if it's called the worst ending, I think this one is the most fitting to the overall setting and story of the Witcher universe. A shiny disney-like ending wouldn't make any sense.

Judging by this epilogue we really DON'T KNOW if Ciri really dies, the narrator leaves the hypothesis that she could be alive somewhere in the air.

So.... Ciri didnt really die. She is just "yet to be seen".

So, since we can play B&W after this ending, we can assume that Geralt didn't die in the swamp and certainly goes berserk and killed all those ghouls and drowners. Also, the Emhyr ending slide here reminds me of the fate of Caesar being stabed to death by the conspirators

Apparently the portal also changed her clothes...

There are bad endings, worse ending, and there's Witcher 3

This ending is poetic and haunting, and I love it. But I don’t know how you could accidentally get this ending without failing in several ways throughout the game lol

hehe. this is my ending. ending which i didnt like at all. my friend's ending is ciri became empress and im like wutttt? (we use to talk about our progress in the game at work. ohh Witcher 3 such a fine bad ass game)

You can actually feel the pain and frustration.... so heart breaking

I got this ending, most depressing thing I've ever seen, but it taught me a lesson about fatherhood (I'm 16 lol). Originally I thought it was one of the worst endings to a game, but soon realized it was the best ending and my personal GOAL. It is the best ending because it teaches you a great lesson, and does it very dramatically

4:03 i dont know why but that off screen "cheers" is damn funny. It like geralt just told a dad joke to Ciri (not amused obviously) and he's extremely satisfied with himself. lol

I'll tell you one thing, no way in hell I'd ever drink a decoction made from that rotting zombie man-eating witch. No matter the effect.

Holy shit dude that’s terrible, thankfully I got one of the nicest endings in my opinion, where Geralt replaces Ciri’s sword and trains her to be a Witcher before retiring to live a long happy life with yennifer in the north, I was as happy as Larry with that ending.

On my first play through I didn't realise I was inherently being a dick to Ciri. I didn't end up killing the wolf, I helped him and his pup. But I hated getting this ending. So... Restart! :)

Watched this entire playthrough because I love the characters too much and can't bring myself to hurt them.

I've seen somewhere that in theory all endings can be canon. You just only see one. Blood and Wind Geralt talks to Regis about finding Ciri again and beating the Wild Hunt so in canon it is after the main story line. He wouldn't piddle around with that job if Ciri is lost, but then he did let fun in Beauclaire hold him up in the books. The guys theory is that the bad ending happens, Ciri uses her time and space control to show up and save Geralt. She begins the Path and joins Geralt. Eventually she feels a void (kind of a push since it's all she know but there is always the unavoidable fate idea), then she assumes control of Nilfgaard.

i still remember 5 years back when i got this ending. somehow it really doesnt bother me... I thought it was a great ending despise being a "bad" ending.. I felt really satisfied and traumatized at the same time. 15/10 game. cant wait for the next witcher game in the coming years.

How bad a father do you have to be to get this ending

I thank my lucky stars that I have never had this ending. As much as seeing the last Crone die was good it felt like a hollow victory. I felt bereft with the good endings. This would be far more tear inducing.

It feels like I dream now how I cleaned the whole map, went for different endings on just one base save file, collected everything and etc.

Just got this ending in my 5th play through of the game. I've been mixing up the choices I make every play through but only got the happy ending where she becomes a witcher until now. However painful an ending it is, it is still amazing. Surprising how after close to a thousand hours in this game and it still hits so hard.

This was hard to watch, but I needed it. Thank you for doing the hard yards.

Ciri can't die because HEROES NEVER DIE!

When I played the Witcher 3 for the first time I played for for 6 hours strait towards the end and when I finally reached the ending It was 4 in the morning I was sweaty I couldn’t feel my legs and and my contacts were dry and crisp and when I fucking finished the game after all those hours just to get the worst fucking ending I felt so defeated and sad I cried for hours on end. I cannot express my disappointment and sadness at that certain moment in time with simple text on a screen

I never understood why the werewolf was so adamant about the crone possibly killing Geralt. Imlerith was deemed more dangerous than all 3, yet one crone is supposed to be a threat? Bitch ain't killing no one.

I will always love how Geralt IMMEDIATELY let's his guard down when he sees Ciri, he goes from being ready to rip Avallach apart, to absolutely and willingly defenseless upon seeing and hearing her.

Geralt always said witcher doesnt have feeling because mutation and yet you can feel all his emotion in this ending and that desperation, sadness and regret so excruciating for me

I recently finished the game. (I was late to this, I know) I tried so hard to get every decision right and managed to do right by everyone, but failed miserably in doing the 1 thing that was most important. I immediately started the game over. This scene completely killed me. Such a fantastic game. It's great story telling

You'll get this end killing or not killing the werewolf. This end comes when you start acting like "Ciri's father" and decide to take decisions on her place, like when she has to deal with the sorceress and you decide to go with her instead let her go alone or when you don't trust completely on her about that elf Avallach...The witcher 3 is about Ciri not Geralt...we only play with Geralt.

I got this ending and the bad ending from blood and wine, this game broke my heart, it’s been years now and I’m yet to recover

There is no such thing as the ''worst ending'' in Witcher. All ending are great, they reflect life as it is - not black and white but with grey areas .

this ending haunts me so much. especially the fact that this was the outcome of my first playthrough what the fuck. It's honestly the most gripping and depressing scene. CDPR did a great job at setting the mood of it, the score was incredible had me bawling for minutes, and seeing geralt clutching the medallion is probably the most effective part of it all. I really had to step back and take in what just happened by how sad this scene was. I didn't even have the strength to play the blood and wine expansion. It was THAT great

I got the Empress ending. Finished the game a week or two ago but damn it was the best gameplay ever. Keira lives Radovid dies Cerys becomes Queen retire with Triss....such great game depth

Got this ending on my first playthrough and just couldn't continue on playing the DLCs so i loaded around 6 hours back at the point where you first get to isle of the mists. Had to replay 6h of the game but in the end it was worth it

I really loved how the devs made the 'bad' ending sound so real and true story wise like, if there weren't any other endings and this was the only one, I'd be sad for sure but it fits the theme of witcher so well, maybe even better than the others

This ending is truly gut wrenching

My first ending of the game, i felt like something is gone from me. I couldn't stop thinking over it in a year after i played the game again.

smh all those "monsters" converging on the hut at the ending is nothing more than free points to upgrade the Aerondight, it'll be a field day

I've just finished the game-this morning actually-and I got this ending. I feel like I've lost a piece of me. I feel totally empty. Sigh Time to start the expansions.

bruh my first ending was almost this, except that I made Cerys queen...I hated myself so much because I couldnt understand the game's hint what options should I choose to make a happier ending about Ciri. Also , forgot to kill that bastard radovid, that hurt the most

The development and voice actresses behind the crones were incredible. I love watching all the alternatives I would have missed in my own 2 play throughs.

I like how Geralt sets up her stein and toasts it like "I told you this would be great, huh?!" HOLD MY BEER, BRO!!!

Seeing this after beating the game and achieving the 2nd ending is hilarious. Especially, seeing one of Ciri flashbacks to where Gerald decided to receive the coin from the emperor.

I don't believe he died, his sword was on the floor in front of him, he can still use signs, yeah he was broken at the end but it's Geralt..he wouldn't give up and just die at the hand of monsters..

I honestly feel out of all of the unique characters and settings they inhabit. The Crones were so well done; I remember feeling such anticipation in meeting them as well as a sense of fear...

Didn't kill the werewolf. It was awesome of him to come back and help Geralt against the last Crone.

This is absolutely haunting, and I love it. This is phenomenal. From the sheer emotional destitution of losing Ciri, his daughter who he'd do anything for - to lose that and continue on... It's more than understandable how he'd let it end like this, clutching the sole reminder of her left in his world. It's so poetic even Dandelion couldn't write anything better, good on you CDPR, for creating a story so engrossing and absolutely enthralling that most of us can't help but feel overwhelmed.
