The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt - Bad Ending (Ciri Dies Ending)
This is the worst ending in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, there are a total of 3 endings.
How to get this ending:
To trigger this ending, you must make at least three out of five “negative” decisions in conversation. Here are the possibilities:
1. Say “Relax, you don’t have to be good at everything,” when comforting Ciri during Blood on the Battlefield.
2 . Missable: Choose to visit the Emperor during Blood on the Battlefield, and say “Definitely need it more than you” to accept payment for bringing Ciri to him.
3. Accompany Ciri to the meeting with the Lodge of Sorceresses during Final Preparations.
4. Say “Calm down” when Ciri loses her temper during The Child of the Elder Blood.
5. Say “No time” when Ciri asks to visit Skjall’s grave at the end of The Child of the Elder Blood.

I like the style! like some kind of hunter in a twisted fairy tale, this is dark fantasy after all, the hunter and the witch, Geralt is a hunter. He can use any weapon with mastery after all, I fucking love to kill bandits in the forest with an axe in an old fashioned bountyhunter style

I got the witcher ending on the first try. I loved the Ciri-Geralt father-daughter relationship, so I took great care in fostering it.

I let Ciri do the bad things with Geralt and let her vent, at first I thought Ciri was dead during the conjunction fo shperes, but something in the scene tells me there's fishy. First, the flashing moments of Geralt and Ciri. Second, the positive dialogues of Geralt and the merchants that Geralt wants to help them but refuses as they will be fine. Third, the sword Geralt ordered. I thought it was to commemorate Ciri, but in the White Orchard Tavern, there, a caped person sitting. When I found out it was Ciri, I felt overjoyed. That I did the good role as her father figure. A supportive and understanding Geralt that fits Ciri's needs.

Same here...I couldn't believe Ciri was dead after the choices I made throughout the game. Paused playing after Geralt told the emperor that she was dead. After reading your comment I continued and found her at the inn. A witcher. What a relief!!

Will there be any other missions with Ciri if I get this ending in the expansion packs (Hearts of Stone/Wine and blood)? If Ciri is alive why she didn't return right after the figth?

You can get this ending by telling her that: she doesn't need to be perfect, to calm down, and by going with her to the sorceress' meeting. Makes no sense lmao

***** Yeah ok, but you also have to think that these decisions have a limited time to respond, you cannot really think it through. The things I did wrong were to go with her to the lodge, but not because I wanted to protect her or something, but because I was interested in what they had to say. I also told her to calm down in Avallachs house (destroying the place because a jealous elf said something Ciri did not like seemed kinda stupid, and at Kaer Morhen the dialogue options were quite unclear, so I got the bad ending. Sure I made some mistakes, but in 100 hours of playtime these were just little things that can be easily overlooked.

***** I still think the bad ending was great though, very depressing, impactful and well written and executed. Witcher 3 is probably the best game I have played yet.

Philipp Augschöll yea but remember in alot of those situations in reality u can't just sit there and have hours on end to think about it. didn't eve know this ending was possible but it was still very well written like u mentioned.

It looks like the cutscene where Geralt brings down the Crone is actually done in-engine (i.e. not pre-rendered), using weapons from the Player's own inventory. In this cutscene, he uses a steel axe. In all the other versions of the Bad Ending I've seen, he uses a steel sword.

I dont think any of the cutscenes in The Witcher 3 are pre-rendered. Armors and weapons didn't change in any of cutscenes if I remember correctly.

All of the scenes where Geralt appears are in-game. They always keep your gear. Only some scenes without him are pre-rendered, it's easy to notice if you have the triss-yen-ciri alternative looks on, as they will appear in their original looks in the pre-rendered cutscenes.

Surprsingly enough, I still got the good ending even if I accepted the money, accompanied Ciri (but I also said I won't interrupt or I stayed at the side), and I told her to calm down. The remaining choice that's not displayed here is that I decided to tell Ciri the secret to remaining focused when she asked me how I could do it.

@@strawberryfields9041 Dude that's awesome. Make sure to take your time with it and try out the dlcs if you love the game, they're great, the 2nd one blood and wine even gives ypu a whole new proper map. Make sure to do the side quests as well, they're fantastic

Philipp Augschöll *warning contains spoilers* lol i think it was pretty obvious as how u treat people will have an effect on them. i really like how they did this in this game. You either fill her with confidence or pretty much break down her confidence at every moment u get. people who get this ending deserves it. i personally got the one where she became a witcher.

@@warbabyfox117 6 years late but yeah I agree with you. I don't like how some choices that didn't seem to have significant importance such as the 'go for it' choice or the visiting Skjall choice can ultimately result in Ciri's death. Love the game but imo this choice-to-ending design sucks

I only got this ending cause i failed 3 out of the 5 critical decisions, I told her to calm down cause she was only mad over the racist elve it was childish to just brake things when your mad and she didn’t know if she was actually betrayed at this point, second I accompanied her to the lodge because I was curious to hear what they were going to talk about, the only actual bad decision I made was telling her she didn’t have to be good at everything, didn’t help i only had seconds to decide. faaaaaaaaaaaack

I made the exact same things and got this ending, all of which seem pretty reasonable to be honest Telling your daughter that she doesn't need to be perfect at everything? Accompanying her to a sorceress meeting that are known for being manipulative? Telling her to calm down and control her emotions - as Witchers are always in control of their emotions? Yep, all seem perfectly reasonable. And yet you get this ending if you make those decisions - which seems like a mistake on CDPR's part, honestly

I just beat the game earlier today and throughout my playthrough I played geralt as being overprotective of her after finding her bc he didn't want to lose her again but unfortunately she does anyway. Probably my favorite ending albeit sad as hell.

I'm a bit late to the party but... DAMN I JUST beat the game for the FIRST time and I got THIS ENDING??? BRO I was SO CONVINCED of making the right decisions to end up with Geralt depressed and Ciri gone😭 I thought Ciri would come back and I'd have a happy ending with Triss💀

Since there is "different worlds" in the Witcher I find all these different endings and routes you can take as "Canon" they are just different worlds/realities and different versions of Geralt and Ciri and of Triss and Yen..

Each variation has minor change depending on who u killed or what choice u did in main questbline and their sub quest s ( like saving baron wife in the bog if u killd the tree spirit)

I deeply knew what choices to make and what Ciri needed as a daughter. As someone who wants to be a father one day. I exactly knew what Ciri needed, understood her character perfectly, absolutely hated that my parents and family tried to control all of my life choices and emotions. The best thing to do for your children is to be there for them, guide them, understand them and let them do their experiences and trust in their judgement. Let them come to you for guidance. Scold them only when they did something bad that put them or others in danger. But never unleash your emotions on them or scold for something basic. Ciri and Geralt have a great father-daughter relationship that is healthy and well written. I was so happy to see her alive and fully grown and her being able to do what she wanted. It came natural for me with all the choices and was truly happy to had the best ending possible. The only sad ending I got in the Witcher was the death of the Duchess in Blood and Wine, killed by her sister.

Lol, got third ending, why do ppl choose such idiotic choices like, to drink Ciri or not to allow her doing anything? If you wanna get a good ending, you need to think, what would Ciri feel when you choose something, like not to refuse money Emhyr gave you, that is pathetic to take money, if you were doing it for Ciri.

Wtf is the point in having multiple endings if your just gonna announce an official ending. This is the power of games as a medium, the choices of it's players.
