With 110k Miles How is This 2013 Model S and its Battery Holding Up?

This 2013 Mode S 60 is in great condition inside and out and is a great way to get into Tesla ownership at a fraction of a new car price. The Model S has been a remarkable product for Tesla and still is in production in 2023 with an exterior design very similar to this 2013 model. With a range close to 200 miles fully charged this 2013 Model S offers the same range as many newer EVs like the Bold and Leaf yet offers a lot more performance, space and luxury car comfort. With a little over 300-hp this its also very quick, capable of 0-60-mph in a little less than six seconds. Unlike a gas engine that needs to downshift its transmission and rev up to its peak power band for maximum performance, this Model S only has one gear and instant power on demand for acceleration unlike any other gas powered car you have driven. A huge vertical screen offers a crisp high resolution display thats as easy to use as an iPad. You can operate and change pretty much any setting through the car via the screen. You wont believe how quiet and smooth the Model S is, its unlike any other car you have ever driven!

Great video. I just bought a 2014 model s 60 and it rides like a new car, it’s fast and it’s got so much room for cargo. We went on a family trip and with just the frunk, we had so much room left in the trunk. Plus I knew the previous owner who kept it under roof the whole time and only drove it for 55k miles. Always had it professionally detailed. Best purchase I’ve made. Couldn’t see myself in a model 3.

Great car, agreed, but hope battery doesn't need be replaced, it's about $18k, much more than ice engine.

@@Laissez_Faire Why was the battery replaced after only 2 years of ownership? I want a used Model S but this is what turns me away. On an ICE car, maybe the transmission or engine will need to be replaced but that is around $3-4k job. And even backyard mechanics can do it.
@Laissez_Faire

@@westcoastplinkin6559 it was defective I guess. It had less than 10k miles at the time. It just wasn’t charging past 40 mile range.

We have an INFINTI franchise but we are also a used car retailer, we sell about 3-6 times as many used cars as new cars, so we need to have product knowledge about a wide variety of vehicles. As far as Teslas go, some months we sell about as many used Teslas as new vehicles. Thanks for watching!

I bought a 2013 Model S with 56k miles for $27k last year, and I already got slammed with a $21k battery replacement bill. Worst decision I have ever made. I foolishly believed degradation was the issue, but EV batteries fail with time, regardless of miles.

That would also apply to a luxury ICE vehicle with similar miles where the engine or transmission needs to be replaced, the cost would likely be more than the vehicle is worth. If you have a 100k mile AMG Mercedes with a supercharged V8, it would probably be $20-$30k to replace the engine.
