This song is one that has great meaning for Sharon (lead vocalist) and Michael (lead guitarist). In the early 2000s their first daughter Jillian died. Though Jillian has her own song. This one was more about how much they miss Jillian. Jillian died in Sharon's arms. So the chorus: I feel you fading away. Has so much more meaning than you'd guess at first glance. There is no pain anywhere in the universe equal to loss of our child. There is no greater terror than the pain and panic in the ones we hold most dear.
Don't take any notice of the person who left the comment about the song being about Sharon's daughter Jillian dying, it's total rubbish. Here's the facts: Sharon has never lost a child, she has 3 children, none are named Jillian. There is no guitarist in the band named Michael, the lead guitarist's name in Ruud Jolie. Sharon's Husband is the bald guy playing rhythm guitar in this video, his name is Robert Westerholt and he and Sharon have been together since they met in high school. Robert retired from touring/playing live in 2011 to stay at home with their children while she is on tour but he still writes and does some guitar work when they record new songs.
They were interesting and different at the beginning, same like Nightwish. I liked Tarjas opera voice and Sharons clear high voice. But they get more and more poppy. Anyways a good song.
Hi😅... (Very) long time no see😬. I haven't been online so much in few weeks😌! So much to do all the time and I've been following these reactions mostly on the road and commenting is a bit hard while driving😅, (you know what they say about texting and driving☝️😂), but I've been following you all the time and kept track which songs you've been reacting to etc.😊, and many times I planned to write something but...😬😬.... But now finally when you checked the song I reguest, I just had to leave a comment😅.. (it's about 4am right now here btw. so that propably explains how much I've been struggling to be online lately😂😂.. Not sure why I tell you all this but if you hadn't notice it yet, I sometimes have a bad habbit to talk about things that has nothing to do with anything🤣!! Aaaanyway☝️.. like I said, when I reguested this one, there is only couple of reactions with this songs on RU-vid and that is very shame, and I really don't understand why🤔... Atleast for me this is WT's..🤔well.... perhaps not THE BEST song but my favourite in so many ways and definetily one of the catchiest songs they have👌.. very pleasing to listen and everything is on place in this one. Sharon's voice, the instrumentation, the feeling overall and the video😅..(I don't know the story behind the video but I think it's because of those short films we talked earlier🤔.. not sure is that the reason because other videos (Faster, and Sinead) was different🤔, but they released the last part of that film with this song so perhaps that fits🤷... and now, if you haven't yet seen those short films, I say no more of what I mean😉.. but I think it's very fitting😅👌 ... Anyway I really like that camerawork in the video, going "around" the group all the time😅.. When someone even mentions this band, this is the song and video I have in mind right away so even it perhaps isn't the best song they have, still for some reason this represents the whole style of the band for me😅.. (or something, not sure how to explain it😂) But I'm glad you enjoyed this song. (especially you Charisse😉.. Because I think I suggested this to be added on your own list😅... Or was it just a reguest...🤔..... maybe I didn't aim it for you personally, because I left the reguest in the other WT-video🤔...) I've been writing it wrong for all this time🤦😂.. you know☝️, long story short☝️😅)... my original reason why I started to comment on these reaction-videos in.... hmmm🤔.... three, three and a half years ago was infact to learn to speak/write english better😅... Ofcourse I did learn it in school already years back and when watching a lot of movies and playing videogames afterwards I think I've always been good with understanding the language but when there was no need to use it anywhere in so many years, the problems started when I had to speak it all of a sudden and start to create the sentences on my own😅.. So I had this idea and what a better way to learn than talk about something that really interested you😅, music I mean ofcourse😂.. And I think I've become atleast better during these years😂, I don't have to think of every word/sentence over and over again anymore😅.. So, NO!!☝️I didn't take your note in a wrong way😊, I'm actually grateful and that serves perfectly my original purpose of being here😉.. again, not sure why I tell you all this but🤣, hahaa😂.. Sharon has a really enjoyable vocal delivery & timbre in her voice, but although this particular song is good, it's nothing special, so I'll go with 8.5.
