ericblowtorch I wasn’t around for the clash’s glory days, but I wanna say that Joe Strummer’s legacy lives on through the next few generations. I was born a year or two before the millenial generation ended (so before 1995) I’ve met plenty of others in my generation that agree with the clash. Although, I’ve met people eho never heard of this band, and you know what? Most of them are gen z tide pod eaters who don’t know food from laundy detergent
I can’t believe it’s been 20 years since he has passed. Thank you Joe, for your inspiring words and songs that I will cherish for the rest of my days here.
"It's time to take humanity back into the center of the ring, and follow that for a time. Greed, it ain't going anywhere [...]" I will always carry the words of Joe in my heart, bless! Thank you for putting this out here in its entirety!
This why I know I can always be the way I am with Joe. I feel very deeply connected to Joe himself no wonder why. I really freaking truly madly deeply love Joe so much it hurts. He isn't truly gone ever.
17 years today 22 Dec 2019. Forever missed, forever remembered. Such a big influence to me as I was growing up in the 70s and 80s, and continues to inspire me every day now. Thank you Joe for the words, the music and the attitude.
😢 ❤ he’s my freaking life, i love him so much-our world needs him so much too right now, and while i never met him, god do i miss him, and god would i do anything to bring him back!! he kicked freaking ass!!
Come on everyone, without people your norhing, let's get it together, let's stop knocking each other down, thats so easy to do,we do it to each other all the time,,,,let's lift each other up,,it's much harder,,but we can do it,,,that's my spiel.....
I'd like to say ... ... that people ... you see, they used to ask me 'so, you guys think you're gonna change the world?' Like, some smartarse newspaper reporter. Who wouldn't know tenderness from a can of beans. 'Ha, so you think - you guys have got the audacity', they used to say, 'you think you can change the world?' And man, when they push you, when they push you down, it's so hard not to fall. But - that was ten years ago. And I've been thinking about that. 'So you think you schmuck can change the world?' they'd say to us. And they said it so often that you began to believe them. Which is fatal. Trust thyself. And so, now I'd like to say - people can change anything they want to. And that means everything in the world. Show me any country - and there'll be people in it, and it's the people that make the country. And people have got ot stop pretending they ain't on the world. People are running about, following their little tracks - i am one of them. But we've all got to stop just following our own little mouse trail. We've gotta ... people can do anything. This is something that I'm beginning to learn. People are out there doing bad things to each other. It's because they've been dehumanised. it's time to take the humanity back into the centre of the ring, and follow that for a time. Greed - it ain't going anywhere. The richest person in the world is the most unhappy one. They should have that in a big billboard across Times Square. You know, think on that. Without people, you're nothing. That's my spiel.
