Without Walls D H Lawrence paintings 

If the British Government succumb to Greece's demands to return the Elgin marbles, the UK may well get back D. H. Lawrence's infamous 'obscene' paintings which were reported to be owned by US collector Saki Karavas in a 1992 edition of Channel 4's arts strand, "Without Walls". You might have seen them in the Pan bookshop in 2003 - but they were replicas. The originals, it seems, still reside in Karavas' small museum in Taos, New Mexico.
