10 out of 5. I watched this in the theatre and i was leaning over the chair in front of me. I left the movie tired but happy. Check the Mad Max movies that came before.

Nice social experiment. Of the first 4 replies (all we have at the moment), we get: 5 out of 5 10 out of 5 11 out of 5 and 0 out of 5 Seems to be a cultural failing in today's internet world that something must either be: "The absolute best evar!" or "A steaming pile of crap" Not a lot of room for opinions between those two extremes. I'll break the pattern: I give it about a 6 out of 10. I would give it more, because it's a fun movie, but I'm thoroughly disappointed that the title character, the one I expected to see kicking butt and taking names, spends most of the movie watching other people kick butt and take names. A common failing in modern Hollywood: put a famous character in the title then don't really make the movie or show about him very much, or at all. This movie should be called "Furiosa: Thunder Road" and I'd give it a 9 out of 10. But that probably would have cut the box office in half so they used the famous name to get us to come see it.

I love this movie! The original Mad Max movies have been such a part of my life. You would be missing out if you didn't watch them. Watching them out of order is fine, but the first one is the origin story and a slower burn. The second one, the Road Warrior, is neck and neck with this one in terms of pacing and action. The third one, Beyond Thunderdome, is not quite as solid, but it is still worth watching as it does have some iconic lore and lines. People love these movies for a reason. I think you would like them too.

I grew up watching the original, so I was very sceptical about this when it came out. But the visuals and the soundtrack blew me away, and i approve of Tom Hardy as Max. You should watch the original 3, or atleast the first 2

Great reaction - this was a brilliant movie. Seeing this in the theater was spectacular - especially the dust storm sequence. It was awe-inspiring. For an almost pure action movie, the writing & acting was top-notch. And yes, surprisingly emotional. Thanks for this! ❤

One of the best movies to see on the big screen. My theater had converted to stadium seating with the giant chairs, so I was sitting on a raised wooden platform, and I could feel the sound of the exhaust under my feet like I was sitting in a car. It was awesome.

Hugh Keays-Byrne, who played Immortan Joe, also played 'Toecutter' in an earlier Mad Max film. Also, the tall man who lifted the engine over his head is Nathan Jones, who had a nice fight scene in a film called Ong Bak (2005); a martial arts movie about a stolen elephant.

Now you will have to watch the first 3 films as well: Mad Max (1979) Mad Max 2 (1981) Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome (1985) If you like Charlize Theron, watch Atomic Blonde (2017)

If you have a PS4 or PS5, the Mad Max exclusive game from 2015 is AWESOME. It's like a post apocalyptic GTA, with a LOT of focus on melee combat. The fighting is like a dance of death, when you're in the flow.

This was one of the best theater movie experience I ever had. And I am not a fan of car scenes or action movies in general. But this one was just so well made that it got me on the edge of my seat.

i've always loved action movies and when i saw this in theaters i thought damn, i've never seen a movie like this that feels so refreshing and friendly towards women?? of course i love the cinematography, the world building, the soundtrack, but i really loved how there was a female lead who was just amazing and not sexualized, and a huge cast of women characters who were great on their own. i loved max, too. this will always be one of my absolute favorite action movies. thanks for the reaction!!

For me it's just that fury road has no interceptor scenes like 30 years since the last movie and right away the first thing that happens is it gets taken out I'm still crying however many years later lol otherwise I think fury roads the better movie

Fun Fact: They started out filming in Sydney like the first three films but it was actually raining in Australia when they were filming which is rare so they moved to Namibia to get the barren wasteland post-apocalyptic desert look they were seeking. That`s why Tom Hardy`s attempt at an Aussie accent kind of half-ass becomes South African towards the end. This is also ironic as he did not get along with Charlize Theron who actually is South African but grew up in New York.

Grew up with the originals. Mad Max, Mad Max 2 (The Road Warrior) and Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome. All with Mel Gibson. Tina Turner played a big rol in Beyond Thunderdome. The second one become a big succes (still my favorite one). The 2015 movie goes further after the trilogie, the last one was in 1985 with stil a young Mel Gibson. Fury Road is for sure a good follow-up with great actions in it. And now I will go further with your first time watching (always love your reactions and facial expressions).

Funny to see you watching THIS movie. I just did a full rewatch of all 4 films and now I'm playing Fallout 5 and role-playing as Max. Fury Road is not a remake, but Road Warrior's third act is a big chase and most of FR is that way.

This movie is a sequel, BC. The first movie came out in 1979. It had two sequels before this one. The series is: Mad Max Mad Max: Road Warrior Mad Max: Beyond Thunderdome Mad Max: Fury Road The first movie has THE most iconic car chase scene in movie history. It established George Miller as an up and coming director. In terms of favorite, my list goes: 1. Mad Max 2. Mad Max: Fury Road 3. Mad Max: Road Warrior

On Google... Most of them are plagued by cancer, the most common one being lymphoma, others resulting in partial or complete blindness. They require blood transfusions to prolong their lives and it's one of the reasons they hunt for unsuspecting wanderers of The Wasteland such as Max.

George Miller is an amazing Australian director. If you want a movie with drama and heart, watch Babe. Another great Australian director is Peter Weir. You might know him from The Truman Show, Dead Poets Society, Master and Commander: Far side of the world and my personal favourite, The Way Back 2010.

Most of the stunts were done for real. The director's wife won an Oscar for editing it down from the 480 hours worth of film they shot. She'd never edited an action movie before !

You might want to watch the Original Mad Max and the sequel Road Warrior. This movie is kinda of inspired sorta remake of Road Warrior, it has some similarities but they also changed a lot so it feels a lot like it's own movie.

The trailer for Furiosa is out, starring Anya Taylor Joy. Not sure when it will be released. That movie is Furiosa’s back story, a prequel. George Miller also made Babe and Happy Feet, as well as Mad Max 1 -3. If you like emotional stories you’ll love Babe.

The Director begged his wife to edit the film. She was experienced with chick flick type stuff and had no desire to be involved with this as she didn’t “know” what it should be. He convinced her that that was exactly why he wanted her to edit it. So that it wouldn’t be like every other bro flick. She relented and won an Oscar for best editing.

You can watch this without seeing the original trilogy. Like seeing Darth Vader in the later years. If you are interested. The original trilogy gives Max’s origin story and why the world ended up the way it is here. You get a hint of It with Max’s intro speech which is a recap of the trilogy, and the meaning of his flashback nightmares. The original trilogy is epic in its action which is pure practical effects, done before there was CGI. Max’s ability to survive horrific injuries was more apparent in the original trilogy.

the irony that it was a woman that got me hype for the movie by showing me the trailers. i might've missed out if not for her. but yes this is a 5 star, 10/10 Masterpiece for me. the cast, the OST, the cinematography, the sound design, the pace of the action, all the vehicles seen are real as fck and custom built. hard to beat, very hard to beat

I'd recommend watching Mad Max 1 and 2 if you want to know the history of the character and the Mad Max movies made Mel Gibson a start. Mel gave great depth to The Mad Max character. The Mad Max in this movie feels more like an adult version of the feral kid (who doesn’t talk) from Mad Max 2 and maybe he is, and the feral kid just took Max's name. It would be an interesting explanation for why he looks and acts so different to Mel Gibson's Mad Max.

I have to admit one thing Biscuit in 2023 has escalated her level of popularity by watching the best stuff at the best time possible, in a way to drive people crazy about content too, she really planned it well, she just did it one by one and sometimes two by two and increasing the hotness a notch up and boom, now at the end of the year mad max....lol whoever he team is,,,,they know their job and I hope she won't betray them like Vkunia.

Outstanding film. If you want to learn more about Max's backstory you need to watch the original trilogy. The Road Warrior is my favorite in the series and Fury Road is a close second.

I think you're the first one to realize it's literally just chrome paint they spray in their mouths. This movie is the best at just *showing* the world, very little dialog to hold your hand, but if you just take everything in, there's little not to get!

Some of the best action sequels of all time. Mad Mad 2 The Road Warrior touched me through my love for cars and motorcycles as a kid. Also, great inspiration from author Joseph Campbell makes these Mad Max films fantastic allegories👍 Miller is the best at making fantastic sequels, each film is a story of their own.. Fury Road was definitely not MEDIOCRE winning 6 Oscars and voted the best action/ adventure of all time ..🎬🙃👍

Fun movie... I rated it 3/5, tied with Mad Max 2, and a half star behind Mad Max. That guitar guy is iconic... almost made it a 3.5/5! I hope you watch the rest, starting with Mad Max (1979); you'll see a very young Mel Gibson (before he went nutzo).
