He betters himself and solidifies he's pure of heart when he holds the Eye and resists its temptation, which only "someone of pure heart could do". You failed to follow the basic plot of a kids' superhero film.

Not quite - but it does set up the story of the second film of Shazam and heightens the definate probability of Henry Cavell replicating Clark Kent/Superman in the film as a tutor to the likes of Billy Batson and his foster brother and sisters and taking on Black Adam - of course portrayed by Dwayne Johnson - and teaching them that with super powers comes restraint and responsibility. And mercy and humanity are two of the biggest attributes to that. Clark Kent's excuse ? Well a piece for BOTH the Daily Planet and the Philadelphia Post papers on Foster Kids. And that's what brings him to Philadelphia to interview initially Billy Batson!

Also it could show that Shazam/Billy is resistant to magic attacks, including the lightning bolt.s This would show skeptical audience members why there would be a legitimate plot reaosn to feature both Shazam and Superman on the Justice League.

I think this is better explained in the comics. If I’m not mistaken Pre new 52 billy was a lot more “pure” so yeah he just got it for being pure. In the new 52 he was summoned and deemed unworthy at first (not pure), but when the wizard said this billy basically told him his standards were too high and NO ONE has is pure good, so then the wizard looked to see if billy was “capable” of good and saw all the selfless acts he’s done. That was good enough to convince the wizard who was running out of time anyway. I can’t remember if that’s how it went in the movie or not honestly, but the movie’s based on the comic so it can’t be far off

I honestly really like this scene I am seeing. An so I wonder why was this scene removed out of the movie of (SHAZAM)? Bro I just had that exact same thought. Can you imagine young goku being brought there when he's 12 and Shazam is like say my name and you will inherit my power. And then goku never uses the power up because he wants to gain the power himself. So Shazam has to train him the old fashion way lol
