Hey there amazing guide! Just wanted to let you know that you could just float the likes with the advance movement (except the plant pot) however, you can just advance movement and float the table (z-coordinate) and put the pot on the table, if not you just float the table and just plant a medium soil plot on the table itself. Just make sure to move the table before you plant in the soil or else you cannot move the table.
Came here to say this - wish I had read comments before doing the buying! Question: has anyone tried messing with the z-axis of the table to plant the plots "on the ground"? I got nervous because when I move the table down, if I run across it, it warps me out of the table space. Maybe I should just experiment, but...it would be neat to have the plots directly on the ground instead of hovering.
PSA: THIS GUIDE STILL WORKS. After the Wallaru update the advanced placement now moves 19 units instead of 20. After testing, clicking 4 times at max sensitivity STILL WORKS and will still allow you to plant. Also, make sure to move the Low Square Table before planting the seeds or else it will become stuck under the plot and unable to be moved until the Couch Potato is harvested.
Anything works so long as it's big enough to grab and has a clear central snap point. I just use a random carpet and move it. Works just fine. Haven't tried recently but yeah never thought of floating by just moving the axis up a bit.
I've been playing this game on and off since 2009. I can say with 100% certainty that your guides on Gardening and Pet Training are the best I have come across yet. Keep up the good work man, you're paving the way for many inexperienced players. I'm excited to see what's next!
Holy crap this is incredible thank you. I remember having to stack 3 layers of CPs with crates and rugs and differential calculus to get all 69 positioned correctly and it was such a pain in the ass. This took me literally 5 minutes to get all plots in place.
Tried this about a week ago- it's PERFECT. I have this plot in a different area in my barn farm, and it's just amazing. No more bulky stacking! Looks amazing and saves energy. Thanks so much for this
hey could I pay u to get this done for me? it isn't working on my computer and the plots keep lining into each other for some reason even though I still follow the same thing he does in the video. let me know, thanks!
If someone doesn't have or want to use the rugs and the jellybean boxes, you can just put everything you want to suspend above the garden on the ground next to it. You can then keep using and applying advanced move to the object, raising it's Z coordinate and X and/or Y. Once you save it's position, you can select the object again, applying more movement but now from it's new current position you moved it into with the last advanced move. You'd need to do this for every object you want to place above the plant bed. However, if you happen to have any flat surface, a desk, any kind of rug or something else you can just put all these objects on, so you can move the flat surfaced rug, bed, desk, whatever up and over the garden and then place the object you need op top. Finally, take the surface back to your backpack. You can also use any object for building the garden instead of this exact table, just make sure you are consistantly able to put the gardening plot in the very center of it on top. As for the plot for King Parsley, you can just put a medium gardening plot right on the flat surface object, you just need to move it high up instead of using a housing gardening plot item. This doesn't matter though but if you don't want to pick one up, you can dig out a plot high up in the air too. Great guide anyway, thanks a lot!
got back into the game recently and i'm trying my hand at gardening, this tutorial was so helpful thank you so much! 2 years later and it's still so effective
by now this video is really old, but i watched it when he only had 3 uploads on his channel. this video pushed me to build my couch potato farm a while ago. he easily makes some of the best tutorials (his pet guides were also extremely simple) and im very thankful i found this video years ago
For the furniture likes, I prefer to use advance move for the garden gnome, litter and sandwich station, and place them in the center and under the plots. It looks cleaner when it's out of sight!
Thank you, thank you, thank you! This method has been such a life-saver for me. I've just made my sixth 69 plot garden, and they are all full of couch potatoes! Now I need to make a seventh.
Great Tutorial! 8:50 Instead of 2x2 box you can do 2x3 or 2x4 so that the King Parsley and all the Likes for your Couch Potato is high enough. I actually had to redo them because it was 2x2 which was low for me. Also you will have chances of getting stuck below the medium pot if you plant KP are 2 Ice Cream Crates high.
@@Maria-xd8yc Boxes does not matter. I am just saying stack them up three in a row (3x3) instead of two (2x2) so that you do not get stuck on the bottom of the pot.
Just to make clicking the time stamps much easier! You're welcome for those who see this later, but be sure to watch this dude's full video! 0:00 Intro & Thank you 0:27 Why 69-plot? 0:45 Required Items 2:10 Tutorial 3:43 Demonstration 8:24 Floating the Likes 11:18 Conclusion
To make the plots flat on the ground instead of floating, move the table a couple clicks on the Z axis into the ground so the legs are submerged. This is the best guide ever so easy to follow and super efficient and looks great. Thanks bro!!
Made 4 separate 69-Large plot gardens like these a little while ago and they work great all that is needed is the speed growth modifiers and the low square table and a medium size pot.
Not sure, try moving around the plot, sometimes there is a glitch. Also logging out and logging back in may help. Make sure the pot is floating above the garden.
@@ferric i have tried both moving the pot and logging out and back in and it still doesn't allow me to plant the king parsley. however, still a great guide!
Awesome video man but one thing I would like to add to this. Guys make sure to swap your advanced movement settings on the low square table to X/Y axis. I didn’t do that so the table moved relative to the direction my character was facing and all of my seeds won’t plant now. Only 57 of them plant because my plots aren’t perfectly aligned even though I followed the instructions perfectly.
I know this is a late comment but he does exactly specify to change to Absolute movement and even has the x and y coordinates shown on screen the entire time he makes it so it's alright if you didn't see it but he did say it
this guide gets everything right. very clear explanation of the easiest method to get the required items, method that works for basically every size of soil without having to change stuff, uses a furniture item that's super accessible, it's just great. thanks so much for this, i've finally made a 69 plot for myself
Does this work with small plots? Pre-edit: This comment uses the technique from the pinned comment, but I think it'll work fine with what the video suggests. Post-pre-edit: You can't actually plant the seeds like this, you'll probably need to have 5 moves of space in each direction. Edit: I made a Pink Dandelion farm with this. Turns out the small plots require a space of 4 moves in one direction and 5 in the other, so for example make a row with 4 move spacing and then move up 5 moves, and so on. Another thing you need to keep in mind is that if you want to float a like plant on a plot (For example a Snap Dragon, one of the Pink Dandelion's likes, requires a large plot, so you can't use a pot) you won't be able to plant directly below the floating plant. Placing soil has a radius around the floating soil, but planting an actual seed has an even bigger one, so you might wanna reserve a space of 4 or 9 plots in the middle of your farm for that. I messed it up at the start (because of the different spacing) but even I could fit like 65 plots in the radius of a large spell. I'm sure you'll be able to calculate a way to fit 69 plots in the radius. Good luck with farming small plants everyone!
i was having problems with spacing too, i did a mixed garden of 23 small medium and large each because i farm ultra seeds. I need to redo my plot with you advice in mind. Are large and medium both 4x4 spacing?
KingsIsle just made this a huge pain to do. They changed advanced move to cap out at 19 units instead of 20 now. Trying to do it in increments of 10 and sometimes it'll move slightly more than 10...
Actually, after testing. This doesn’t effect anything. I literally just made the plot with it set at 19. I used enchanted soil on my original one, because it made little grids and also made it easier for me to keep track of how many i have planted. So i did the same here. And the grid is the exact same. Still lets me plant all of the potatoes as well.
Patrick Star I’ve found the plant that grows the fastest and gives the most exp is Key Limes. They can be bought in the crown shop, but are extremely easy to farm for. Also, they re-seed at mature harvests as well as elder, so you only need one to start, and you can grow up a 69 garden very fast.
In case you, or anyone else still looking at this, is concerned: the 69 plants refers to the upper limit on how much plants the large area plant spells cover. This means. even if you were able to fit more in the radius it will satisfy the first 69 then ignore the rest. Ideally you don't want to touch the plant at the top once it hits elder as it won't need any more looking after and won't wilt
Appreciate you brother, did this and built a second one on top with the aid of castle blocks and made a monster 138 garden all the likes that you float in the middle count towards both the bottom garden and top to really save house space 🚀
Ferric - Thank you for taking the time to help other players in regards to gardening. I for one have found this very helpful! I appreciate your videos! Keep rocking them!
Dude, you're a machine... very excited to see what Wiz stuff you come out with in the future. I don't often see people taking a technical approach to this game on RU-vid, and I'm very pleased to see you're doing it and getting recognition for it.
You can do the same with just a rug. You don't need to float the likes, just put them on the ground and it works just fine. But I like the 20 movement units, would definitely make things easier.
bro im legit so mad, i just finished the other 69 plot, came back to ur other video to figure out how to float the likes for it. I guess im restarting... Fr tho ur vids are mad, keep doing what u doing, most helpful wiz ytber out there
@@sleepysunshiine nah this one looks so clean, cant help myself, ive already done it, just gotta wait for my current cp's to grow so i can plow the old and replant them
@@sleepysunshiine yo also, ik this seems like shameless self advertisement, but i just found a new really good way to get couch potatoes that no other videos have covered, its on my channel if ur still lookin for them, soz for the plug but fr tryna spread the word im gettin heaps from it
I generally knew about this technique, but never looked at absolute movement - so much more precise! Very good! One point worth mentioning: Roger the Shrubber is quest-locked in Avalon so you can't ask a friend "port me to the gardener" as you could in Krokotopia, Mooshu and Celestia. Zafaria, Avalon and Khrysalis are not accessible to the general public, just to those who care enough to help them first 😉
THANK YOU! Super good video, VERY well organized, and very helpful! I really appreciate when you put all items needed and where to find them on the screen at the start - it made everything a ton easier!
This was clear and very useful. Before i was using a scuffed method of triple stacking which was difficult to use spells on, this is so much cleaner and easier to use. I love you lol.
thank you so much. i cannot stress how much i needed this and im so thankful that this isnt some cheesy horrible quality video. love your videos keep it up
Hey 100% thank you. I had 5 farms of 69 couch potatoes (gotta love those double seed profits) and man I gotta say I didn’t make the stacks good on any farm so I had a bunch that would get missed and I’d spend so much energy on each farm. I did your method and did all 5 new farms in just 1 hour and today I took care of the farms it only costed 100 energy all together and not even 5 minutes thank you a ton
Holy shit... like.. holy shit. I've spent the better part of 4 years practicing and doing trial/error tests with glitching with just about every item in the bazaar. The medium plot design with the shaman rugs for the EMP's were easy enough, but trying to make a flat 69 plot with potatoes was impossible. I tried for 2 years. 2 years of trying to glitch and sneak my way. I almost had it with the jade tables, too. but then KingsIsle just undid all of my work by adding "advanced movements"....... -cries in spanish- Jokes aside, this is amazing. No one should have to suffer through what I suffered through.
Hi. Michael SkullGarden here. I've just started playing again after several years. Wow so easy and great job! That advance move is a really nice feature. I don't remember that being a feature when I used to play. I guess my oddly stacked 69 Couch Potato garden that I invented is obsolete now. That was a difficult garden to invent and construct. But, it was fun.
For anyone wondering if your using medium plots all the moving he says just cut it in half! So when he says move 4spaces move 2 when he says move 8 spaces move 4. You’re welcome
Great guide still works but movement is gimped and requires keeping track of how many units you have moved, example, I use Red barn farm and on the left plot I will start X at 2000 and Y at -4000, moving units of 80 the last digit will always be zero, if the game moves and uneven amount you will almost immediately see the error, you can also test as you go by holding a seed over the plot, if the plot is off the seed will be red or move to the next plot. Currently when I move slider to max it reads 19 units and each click moves it 19 units making movement off by 4, I move the slider back to 1 and click another 4 times putting the table where I want it, if placing enchanted soil you will see a grid form as you go, if the grid is off then a plot is off and might not take a seed. I still recommend this guide when asked how I get so many reagents.
Nice video bro, this really helped. Used to do floating carpet glitches all the time but never for gardening. Been playing/making vids since 2009. Glad to see someone still making great W101 content!
Thanks a bunch for this tutorial, dude! It'll help me immensely in making my farming more efficient. It's a simple and easy to follow tutorial, and that much warrants a like! Currently grinding King Parsleys for amber. Gotta get the 'ol Deer Knight, obviously! And now that I've got a 69-plot single layer thing going on, I've just gotta wait for my current king parsleys to go elder as to move their seeds to it. Gave them everything they like that I could. Just waiting now.
I seriously love all of your videos Ferric! They're so helpful and easy to follow! Although I do just want to make this note - I'm pretty sure you can use any 4 crates for floating the 'likes'. When I went to follow this guide I went looking for Crates of Ice Cream and they were no longer in the crowns shop, so instead I went to the Bazzar and got 4 Crates of Jellybeans (they were the cheapest at the time) and they worked exactly the same. Also I would like to mention that all of the 'likes' can be available in the Bazzar and there were tons when I went to look. I'm pretty sure it's because of everyone else who farms Couch Potatoes and Evil Magma Peas doesn't want to keep all the things that ever drop from them lol.
Yep, the likes are always available in the bazaar. I should have probably mentioned that. I just thought I'd point it out since there are other plants that either have no auction likes or the plant isn't that common and you might not find the likes there.
this is the greatest thing i've ever seen i just started farming and i just did the stack i have 32 magmas i wish i knew about this before i planted all of them but i have it made and ready for when i get 69
Hey ferric I have the exact same garden but with 60 plot thanks for this video, I have a suggestion for the "likes" When you're somewhere in the middle move the Z coordinates of the table and plant your medium plot exactly 8 clicks on the top of the garden for your king parsley and then move it downwards 8 clicks and continue with the plots, now for the gnomes and other likes use advance movement on them and move it to the middle (near your king parsley plot) and the move them downwards below the actual garden that way you still get the likes your gnomes, sandwich station aren't visible and you don't get stuck while moving. Hope this helps :)
