Note: Only the audio of the announcement and the audio of the final signoff has survived, while the video contents are fill-ins/recreations. The Eric Rogers Star Spangled Banner video did not play, contrary another upload of the signoff.

The description from the first source reads:
"I stayed up late on August 29/30, 1983 to record this piece of TV broadcasting history, the audio portion of it anyway. The sequence began at 12:30AM with a video showing station employees packing and saying goodbye with somber nostalgic background music. Then this message at 12:45AM with the VP and General Manager seated on a stool in a darkened studio, followed by the usual Sierra Club sign-off film. Instead of the National Anthem during this, a few instrumental lines of Auld Lang Syne played and ending with Simon and Garfunkel signing the last lines of The Sound of Silence. After this the WKBS logo briefly appeared on the screen and then dead air. Channel 48 would remain this way in Philly until August, 1992 when the frequency returned as WGTW-TV."
The description from the second source reads:"Through the magic of Windows Movie Maker, I was able to recreate the final moments of WKBS-TV 48 Philadelphia, using the audio I recorded that night with the Sierra Club film the station used - on a regular night's sign off the music was the Star Spangled Banner. This was after the message by the Station Manager, elsewhere on my Flickr stream, on August 30, 1983 at 12:46 AM. Channel 48 remained blank here until WGTW-TV signed the frequency on in August, 1992."

If only Field Enterprises waited one more year, they could've sold 48 and it would be on the air today.

As mentioned before l watched that historic swan song "sign-off" for original Ch. 48-TV, Phila., Penna. metro. area in late-Summer, 1983. Sta.'s Gen. Mgr./V.P., Vincent Barresi (who was only in his 30s at time), during his closing commentary said that parent co., Field Communications in mid-July, 1983 announced that it would cease operations, original Ch. 48-TV, Phila., Penna. metro. area unless license to run sta. would be returned back to Wash., D.C.-based Federal Communications Commission (F.C.C.). He also announced that sta.'s employees would all go forward in their new careers
