▸ Wladysławowo owes its name to King Władysław IV, who in 1635 decided to build a military fort here in order to defend himself against invaders from Sweden. Today's Władysławowo was established in the 1950s as a result of the merger of the towns of Poczernino, Hallerowo, Wielka Wieś, Cetniewo and the port of Wladysławowo. On the other hand, Wladysławowo became the town in 1963.
General J. Haller played a huge role in reviving tourism in these areas, who liked this place after the wedding ceremony of our country with the Baltic Sea in 1920. Together with some of their officers, they acquired the land. Their proposal included the Hallerowo bathing resort, which was to compete with Sopot, a part of the Free City of Gdańsk. In Hallerówka - the house where General Haller spent his holidays with his family - since 1990 a small exhibition devoted to Haller and his Blue Army has been opened to the public.
Today's Władysławowo is a popular holiday destination on the Baltic Sea. There are as many as fifteen bathing areas with sandy and wide beaches. There is also a seaport and a fishing port. The port of Władysławowo also serves as a marina. From this place, it is worth going on a cruise on the Baltic Sea or the Bay of Puck with one of the many cruise ships. Anglers will probably be interested in the fact that cruises with the possibility of fishing in the sea are organized from Władysławowo.
Another attraction of the summer resort is the Aleja Gwiazd Sportu located on the promenade in Władysławowo. It was established in the year 2000 and since then the stars of the greatest celebrities of Polish sport have been placed on the pavement. Among others, Kazimierz Deyna, Robert Korzeniowski, Irena Szewińska, Jerzy Kulej, Jacek Wszoła, Dariusz Michalczewski and Michel Platini have their stars here. Every year, in July, a Sports Festival is organized in Władysławowo.
The representative place of the village is also the Fisherman's House - the seat of the commune with a recognizable lookout tower from which it is worth admiring the panorama of Władysławowo and the surrounding area.
Władysławowo, due to its location on a bay with shallow waters, small waves and suitable winds - is a perfect place to learn and practice windsurfing. There are several nurseries with qualified instructors at the shore, as well as numerous equipment rentals.
