V911 & 912's proficient ( 911's a fave.) & time to step up to flybarless . Thank you, for another clear & comprehensive video .

You might want to consider the XK k110, it's pretty much an identical brushless helicopter like this, but is collective pitch and has a really nice controller. Still has 6g though so it's easy to fly (if you want it to be) after flying the 911 but the option's always there to disable the gyros, learn to fly it like a classical rc helicopter and potentially get into serious 3D stuff. Or you can just throw it about on 6g if you want some low stress fun.

Flyin' Ryan RC Have ordered a pack of 600 mAh batteries for my V930... Slightly concerned they might be too much for the tail motor... Will keep you posted on flight times.

There is one option to 'rectify' problem with battery wires being too close to the big gear - put wires around skid. On skids mount four soft rubber tubings or something soft or spungy. This way main gear will be protected, and difference in height due to wire outside skids will be cancelled out by additional four 'touch down' rings or tubings attached to the skids. I hope this helps.

Excellent review as usual. If one is into helis this looks like a good one. I went thru my Blade coaxial helis stage and now I just find helis to be too fragile compared to multicopters. I'd always break landing skids, or tail booms, or pop out a ball linkage in the swashplate, etc. So now I stick to multicopters which do everything a heli like this will do and frequently for less $ and be WAY more durable.
@theimacman
@theimacman 9 лет назад
Partok81 Yeah, I agree. But helicopters are my original passion for flight... ever since I took a ride in one when I was like 10, I have just been in absolute awe with them. So, I can never put flying RC versions of them behind me, though quads have certainly taken over in terms of my favorite type of RCs. :)
@scottfirman
@scottfirman 6 лет назад
Partok81 Yup, easier to fly right? Thats why I hate quads. No challenge. I have a few. They bore me to death. No, I enjoy my heli. Sure they break. The price on parts have really gone down. I am working my way up to the Align 450. Now they have the blade 230, it has three settings. Beginner, intermediate and 3-D. Its a good thing to get into the newer heli's. There are some really nice quads too. As far as race drones, who really races others? no one I know. Fpv makes me motion sick too. Each to their own, that ok, just get out there and fly!

Hello, noticed the wire's potential for disaster also & inverted the battery where wires are on port side & it loops around nice & low, just above starboard skid. Too confined for mode 2 in small yard but having a blast on 1 . Thanks, again .

Is the v930 a different helicopter than the v933? Or could you fly 3d with the v930 with the right transmitter?
@dduckw0rth699
@dduckw0rth699 8 лет назад
+Sebasstian86 Paired with the V977 transmitter (allows switching between 6G/3G modes), the V930 is capable of loops and rolls, assuming there is enough altitude. Because the blades cannot alter their pitch, flying inverted is not possible. Flying in 3G mode makes the V930 a good trainer for collective pitch helicopters.

Hi Flyin' Ryan, I got a X110 3d 6 axis/ 3 axis gyro rc heli by XK. It flys very similar to this one. The 110 is in Orange, but XK sells the X100 and that is in green. I know how you love green. Do you think you could do a review on the X100?
@theimacman
@theimacman 8 лет назад
+Seth Byas Looks good, and since I already have a 6CH XK radio, I could get the BNF version and save a few bucks. Though, it's winter here now, so my outdoor flying time is greatly limited, so I'm trying not to add any more outdoor models to my plated right now. May be one to consider for spring, or maybe they will have something new, but similar, by then. I'll keep my eye on it. :)

Ihave the v 911 pro. It is agile as hell and very fast and responsive. Does the 930 compare to the 911pro? Have you flown the 911pro to compare? I am looking for a little bit bigger heli that flys like the v911 pro. Please let me know your thoughts and where to get one.
@theimacman
@theimacman 8 лет назад
+cw300mag Yes, I have a review of the V911 Pro. The V930 is the next step up... much more powerful and controllable. Since the V911 has a flybar, and the V930 does not, that makes the V930 much more responsive and agile. And the brushless motor gives it a ton of power. The V930 is much better outdoors, and in wind, than the V911, but the V911 is probably better indoors in a small area.

Is this heli a good fit for the "next step" in flying rc? I have flown toy quads and I want to venture into more traditional flyers. Eventually I want to learn how to fly with 3 axis stabilization.
@theimacman
@theimacman 8 лет назад
+noisynerdman I would suggest something like the V911 before moving up to a brushless helicopter.
@noisynerdman
@noisynerdman 8 лет назад
+Flyin' Ryan RC What about the HFP100 V2? You said the V911 is not a good outdoor flyer in your video review. I've seen you fly the HFP100 V2 in your videos and It looks like something I can grow into. I fly quads at full speed full pitch and I'm looking for something that's similar but I can still grow into (like a self leveling heli). Flying indoors just isn't my thing anymore if you know what I mean.
@theimacman
@theimacman 8 лет назад
+noisynerdman Oh, okay, maybe I got the wrong impression by you saying "toy quads". If you are an experienced quad pilot and are comfortable flying them at full speed, then I think the V930 would be okay for you. Just be sure to keep it safe, as it is much more likely to hurt you/someone else than a quad would be. The HFP100 V2 would also be a great choice, if you want to start with brushed first.
@noisynerdman

@theimacman
@theimacman 8 лет назад
+Ryan Cipriani That could be doable, but I wouldn't really suggest it. It's best to have different models for different scenarios. I would save this one for outdoors, and use something else indoors, like the WLtoys V911.

Can you do a review of the v977 powerstar x1? It's brushless and has 6 axis but it's a collective pitch. I haven't seen anybody review it yet and you are a good reviewer so I was hoping that you could do it.
@theimacman
@theimacman 9 лет назад
Alex Shamoon I actually went back and forth deciding between that one or this one, and ended up going with this one because of the price and color, and the fact that I am not a 3D pilot, so I can't really show off the things that make 6ch helis special. :/
@theimacman
@theimacman 9 лет назад
***** I'm not sure how the scale looks or behavior of a CP heli are much different than a flybarless FP heli? Especially depending on how you fly a CP heli... since I usually fly them in normal mode, with a fixed blade pitch, and adjust the head speed for throttle control. I suppose if you fly them in stunt mode, but don't actually go inverted, then the throttle response is better. But, I just don't have enough stick time flying like that, so it always makes me nervous trying to remember not to just drop the throttle, but instead us throttle cut. All that being said, I am still considering the V933.
@theimacman
@theimacman 9 лет назад
***** Hmm, that's an interesting idea... just using a standard 0-100 pitch curve with a constant head speed. I will have to keep that in mind. :) Though, I'd imagine that's not an option with the V933.

The RCAddict It uses another protocol.
@theimacman
@theimacman 9 лет назад
The RCAddict I could check, but I trust yadabub's answer. I think the V915 Llama is only 3-axis (though some listings claim it's 6-axis). And since the V930 is 6-axis, it would have to use a different protocol from the 3-axis helis.
@TheRCAddict
@TheRCAddict 9 лет назад
***** Oh...I though the stabilization was done on the heli. For instance I can fly my V911, V912, and Syma X1 all with the V912's tx and only the quads has some stabilization.

The MCX2 is easy for beginners to fly, and it flies great. Indoors only unless ZERO wind outside. The MSR S is tricky to fly, but is great for teaching single rotor flight. The Mcp S is trickier still, as the rotor speed stays high so control is more sensitive than a fixed pitch heli. I have all 3 ;-)

@neil78b
@neil78b 9 лет назад
Flyin' Ryan RC Thats exactly what I had suspected. Usually the learning curve from the v911(best single blade easy to fly helicopter ever, IMO) to any other single blade flybar-less copter is quite different and more difficult. For example, I have the Walkera mini CP(collective pitch) and its almost night and day from the v911 learning curve.
@theimacman
@theimacman 9 лет назад
+neil Oh yeah, CP is a whole different world. This would be *much* easier of a transition, and I would definitely suggest flying something like the V930 before continuing with CP. The main difference between this and the V911 would be the brushless motor's power. Since the V930 has 6-axis stabilization, combined with flybarless software, it basically auto-levels just as well as the V911, and actually doesn't fight you as much as the flybar on the V911 does. I think you'd find the transition from the V911 to this to be quite doable. :)
@neil78b
@neil78b 9 лет назад
Flyin' Ryan RC Sounds good. On another note, check out the Sky Viper m200 nano drone if you haven't already, that is one really easy to fly quadcopter with same control as the others, I love it as much as my v911... the stunt button is great on the m200. Got mine from Toys-r-us as I was getting one for my nephew, $30. Cheers.
@theimacman
@theimacman 9 лет назад
neil Yeah, I have it, and the other new Sky Viper quads as well, and will be reviewing them soon. :) I agree, it's a great nano... Sky Viper has really come a long way since their first quad, which I gave quite a negative review of. I still don't love their transmitter design, but I understand that is more a matter of personal preference.

@theimacman
@theimacman 9 лет назад
Huge Lugia You are right on both accounts. I went with the V930 over the V977 because of the color and price, and because I am not a 3D pilot, so I wouldn't really be able to show off or review that aspect of that model anyway, so I might as well save a bit of money and go with the V930 instead.

Hey Ryan i have been looking at the Syma s39 for a litlle while now it looks like a really nice indoor coaxial helicopter for a nice price only problem is there really isnt any english reviews on it and i wanna know if its good can you please help me :D -Albert
@theimacman
@theimacman 9 лет назад
monkeymaster26 That looks like a larger coaxial, and I haven't had much luck with that type of heli. Coaxial blades make a heli want to fly level, so the bigger they are, the stronger that force. Which means that large coaxial helis have a very hard time flying forward, especially in any wind. So I would only suggest it if you have a large indoor area for flying. Why are you looking at that, over say the S107G?
@monkeymaster26
@monkeymaster26 9 лет назад
Reason i where looking at it is because it is the same price as 107. It is 2.4 g controller the controler looks to be higher quality and nicer and i thought it was the same sice and the batteries is interchangeble but now that i realise that its bigger i dont want it because i want a indoor heli like the 107 but with a nicer controller :)
@theimacman
@theimacman 9 лет назад
monkeymaster26 The S107G transmitter isn't that bad... it's got sticks, like the S39 transmitter, at least. There is a 2.4ghz version of the S107G, called the S36, but it has one of those Xbox 360-style transmitters.
