+Jack kent Full rudder input, and then full roll in the same direction as rudder, as well as either forward or backward pitch. Forward pitch will make it funnel around the nose, and backward pitch will make it funnel around the tail.

+Seth Byas Helis are definitely harder. Quads have more self-leveling tendencies, because of the four rotors, and tend to react more slowly to stick movements. Helis can be very responsive and take a bit more work to hover. The V911 is pretty easy to fly, for a heli, so I think you should do fine with it, if you have quad flying experience.

You would have to figure out your own way to mount a camera, and I wouldn't really suggest it anyway. Helicopters are usually used as video platforms, and don't have a lot of lifting power to carry much extra weight.

Flyin' Ryan RC yeah but there are also those really small ones like the one you get with the Syma S107C. it's pretty similar only its a 3 channel but it comes with a camera and the camera isn't so heavy

Thanks! When you say "big rc reviewers", who do you mean? I would consider myself one of the biggest there is. heh It's just not a very popular channel type, so none of us really have a ton of subscribers, other than FliteTest.

i could say v911 are worth for beginer and indoor rc helicopter, in windy day just switch at mode 2 or high rate.

+Syed Moinuddin If you are looking to continue on in the hobby, this would be a good step up from the S107G. It is not very good at fighting wind though, even on high rates. Maybe 5mph tops.

Syed Moinuddin I strongly suggest not jumping straight up to a 3D helicopter, from the S107G! That will be a huge difference. The V933 only has a 3-axis gyro, so it has no self-leveling like you would be used to from the coaxial S107G. And you certainly won't be doing any 3D flying any time soon. ;) I would suggest considering a fixed-pitch flybarless heli with 6-axis stabilization, like the V930.

+Music_Pets_RC I don't know anything about that transmitter, but I'm pretty sure it uses a different protocol than WLtoys.

+wolf11 Won't be soon, but I will be reviewing it eventually. It takes me quite a while to finish my testing and film the two different sections of my reviews. I work full time too, so it's not like I'm just doing these reviews all day every day. ;) I can pretty much only fly/film on Saturdays, and the weather is so sporadic here in IL, so that makes it very hard for me to get things done quickly.

Lee Weber It's hard to say... I still think helis are in general harder to fly than quads, so I wouldn't think it would be boring compared to a quad. This would be a good one to get your feet wet with helis, but ultimately I would suggest something without a flybar, and maybe a 6-axis gyro, as those can be flown more aggressively (a flybar can sometimes create instability when flying too aggressively). Check out my reviews of the Hisky HFP100 and Blade 200 SR X.

are the helicopter batteries rechargeable? I surely hope so.

+TheDamrphy Yes. And they're pretty cheap, so you can buy a ton of them. He says in the video it takes 45 minutes to charge them, for about 5 minutes of flight time.

And yes they do have a 3D fly bar less version of this, it's called V22

Random Guy v922 isn't really related to the v911. It's basically a Hisky hcp100 with a different canopy. It's even manufactured by Hisky(instead of WL Toys.)

+aman royals That would depend entire on your level of experience. If you haven't flown a heli before, start with the S107G. If you've already flown a 3ch coaxial heli, like the S107G, get the V911.

The Ares looks to be quite a bit bigger, and would be better for outdoors, whereas the V911 is better indoors (or on very very low wind days outdoors).

+Thorin Oakenshield Well, I'm not sure there is such a thing as a "robust" helicopter. They are all pretty delicate and made from a lot of tiny little parts that can and will break in crashes. The best I can suggest is that if you are a beginner you should start with a 3ch coaxial helicopter, and then work your way up to a 4ch single-rotor helicopter like this. The coaxial will be easier to fly, so you can learn without crashing and breaking parts. And then after you learn to fly well, you could fly something like the V911 without crashing and having to worry about broken parts.

Rodrigo Faria They have different colors, and the listing should specify if it's a V2. The difference, as I mentioned in the review, seems to just be the canopy and landing skid, I believe, which are supposedly more durable in the V2.

+2112inuyasha A "tail gyro" *is* a 3-axis gyro. It basically just keeps the heli from rotating. Flybarless and and flybared helis have the same gyro, but flybarless helis have software to account for the lack of a flybar. A flybar isn't really a gyro, but more about creating stability and countering torque. 6-axis gyros add an accelerometer for auto-leveling.

2112inuyasha The awful spelling in that made me have to stop reading it, and also makes me doubt that the writer really knows what they are talking about. I *do* know what I'm talking about, and I explained the facts, and that's all the proof I need. :) Basically, there may be different terms used by different people, but a gyro is 3-axis, plain and simple, always. Flybarless software programming is aside from the gyro, but does indeed work on stability, like a gyro does.

So, a 3-axis gyro in a flybarless heli is also holding the pitch of the heli, whereas in a flybarred heli, the flybar tends to bring the heli back to level, and it can't hold its pitch. So, yeah, I suppose the old flybarred gyros aren't technically 3-axis.

+Seth Byas Yeah, that sounds like the flybar... those things can really cause problems when you're flying too aggressively. :( They do sell replacement blades (and doesn't it come with one?), so just replace the blade and you should be good to go.

I got the BNF, so it didn't come with extra blades. Would super glue work on the blades.

Seth Byas I would suggest buying a replacement blade. Super glue probably won't hold well, and even if it does, then the balance of the blade will be off, and it's unlikely you'd be able to glue it back together perfectly straight either.

Brian James Fadol I don't think the V636 is in production any more, so I'm not sure if you can find it for sale anywhere. The X11 is a great micro though. :)

+LARRY D Sounds like you've broken some hardware, but it's impossible for me to say what piece may have broken without seeing it in person. Are the flybar linkages still in place?

+LARRY D I experienced the same thing.. After crashing to the floor, the heli won't make a stable hover. Then I bought a paddle flybar which is actually an upgrade. It made the hover solid again.. This indicates that something went wrong with your flybar. You can either replace it with a stock but it's better to upgrade to a paddle flybar... shorter, more stable and less chance of hitting the canopy :)

+Flyin' Ryan RC This is why, I order an extra or two helis, if I really like the machine. I use the 2nd heli as backup and the 3rd heli for parts holder. It makes perfect sense.. like what NASA used to do with space shuttles.. except RC flying is way more important.. btw; RC Hero H911 supposedly flys even better (maybe due to longer tail boom) and has better overall build quality. It's just that the price on all micro 4ch helis have gone up. Hero H911 used to be $31 at xheli.com . If you use the included charger, you MUST get a voltage checker. I was shocked to see these 1 hour chargers charge my single cell batts to 3.4v !!!!! @larry troubleshoot it first. Check the tail prop, tail props are common weakness of this and the usual problems based on what youve said. It can also be the linkages (the little plastics that link the fly bar and rotors) and also, the rotors. Sometimes the acquire cracks. 1.tail motor 2.linkages 3.rotors (connecting parts) Are my common spares for this little bad boy =) but perform always some tests and observations. You can order a full package spre parts from banggood or hobbyking or any shop. They come in cheap so theres no hesitating =) i actually moded my units. Getting my 3rd one now. Try getting a thin wire, replace the short antenna, wrap it around the tail- it boosted my signal atleast 50m! I also installed an led for search light

+Stephen Michael Dirse Sounds like you might be better off stepping back to a coaxial heli to learn flight on. I started out with much easier to fly helis, so by the time I flew this one, I was already a highly experienced pilot (I've been flying for 9 years now). Trying to learn flight on a single-rotor 4ch heli is much harder than on a coaxial (as you have found out), which will actually end up making it take longer to learn, because you are crashing and repairing more than flying. And with a heli like this, each crash has the potential to mess it up enough where it just doesn't fly right any more, yet again making it even harder to learn how to fly. Taking the V911 outside on a low-wind day will definitely help... you want as much room as possible so that you have time to react and can really get a feel for it. That will help with the learning greatly.

Thanks Ryan....your right about the coaxial helis. I wanted to move up fast to the collective pitched helis. I usually learn very fast. But I have had a lot of medical problems lately. And it makes it hard for me to practice on a regular schedule. I just got a new v911 yesterday, and i'm taking slow. But i was amazed at how well I flew after not flying for a while. I did some hovering and spins, and I had no crashes. and as soon as I felt uncomfortable. I put it away for another day.. I am taking it much slower so I can keep it in one piece. I also have a v912 which is awesome and that I am learning to fly that also. it is fixed pitch and 3 times the size of the 911. As soon as I can get the time and my son to videotape me flying the v912 I will post it on my page; and let you know. my email is Steel41262@gmail.com. if you don't mind giving me yours I will keep in touch Stephen P.S. you should lookup some videos of the v912 by wltoys and you will want one yourself.

+Brad Daniels Hmm, it may just be because you are a beginner. Usually I would suggest starting with a 3ch coaxial helicopter, as a 4ch single rotor is harder to fly and probably requires some experience. To trim it, just give trim input in the opposite direction it drifts, but really you shouldn't have to use any trim. If it has been crashed and repaired though, trim may be necessary to correct some issues due to the repairs.

How much have you crashed them?

The first one i crashed a lot but the 2 other ones did woble right out of the box ...and the longer i flew them the more worst they get... and now they aren't flying anymore... i also have bought a v915 and a v912... so hopefully they will last a bit longer...

The last one that i bought was the v911 pro and it wobbled at hover straight out the box.. it stopt wobbling when i give it forward stick (sorry for my English,I'm dutch) and later on the tail goes wobbling from left to right just like the other ones. I ordered some spare parts hoping I'll get one of them flying again...
