Normal? Have you seen the films of him training in 1980 for the Holmes fight or the interviews pre- and post- the Berbick fight? He was SICK well before 1980.
@mind That fight should NEVER have happened. It was all about the money and greed. Ali was sick, he was on Thyroid meds he shouldn't have been on, and it was over 2 years since his last real fight. Funny thing is, I saw him spar in NYC two months before the Holmes fight when he was still pretty fat, and he was actually throwing punches pretty well. Losing all that weight very very fast killed him. And I agree that the Holmes fight did a ton of damage, but as his doctor Ferdie Pacheco said, it's all the hits he took in sparring as well....it was all accumulative. If he had stopped fighting after Frazier 3 he prob would have been basically fine.
Try the pre Norton press conference when his first words gave him away. Ali's doctor was right he has it long before and the champ knows it very well but why did he keep on fighting that is only on Ali to tell the truth and rest are all assumption.
He is saying his recipe of his life style as the interviewer asked him because he is the most famous and loved idole in all history plus he is a LEGEND
No, he **is** having trouble on some syllables while he's speaking, and it's work for him to get it right. The signs are there. Compare this with any tape from pre- Thrilla In Manila.
