Caitlin Clark is a Phenom. I just hope she is given the chance to shine like she did at Iowa. But from the talk of some of the Vets in the WNBA Caitlin is coming in with a target on her back. Iron sharpens Iron and Caitlin thrives on that BUT there is healthy rivalries and there is bullying. Hopeful the Vets will curb their bullying.

I fully expect CC's teammates on the Fever will have her back and won't let anyone actually bully her. Aliyah Boston was the WNBA rookie of the year and is probably going to be the recipient of many excellent passes from Caitlin, and I fully expect that she's going to be really happy to have her former college rival on her side.

Nobody's going to "bully" Clark..she's not a "victim." The real issue actually might be Caitlin Clark getting excessive special treatment and head of the line privileges on everything. All rookies are suppose to earn their place in the pecking order; its a standard part of all sports and society, from freshmen in Congress to rookies in the corporate American workplace to rookies on every type of sports team. ALL rookies get challenged and tested by friend and foe alike; they are supposed to, and Clark should be no exception. The idea that Clark can step into the WNBA and immediately get to hog the ball half the team's time, take half the shots, and hog all the media attention like she did at Iowa is ridiculous. Clark fans already have Clark entitled to first dibs on every perk and privilege the league offers - Olympics, All-Star, etc. Meanwhile, there are plenty of WNBA pros who have put in the hard work in the league to earn their status - many of them key players in leading teams in high school, college, and the Pros to championships; its only natural many of these proven veteran players are not going to be expected to sit back and allow some rookie to cut in line in front of them just because Clark had the fortune of being selected to be "the face" of the college game's multi-million dollar advertising and promotion campaign. Veterans in Congress don't sit back and let rookies run the institution...veterans in the corporate workplace don't sit back and let new hires run the company...and veterans on other sports teams don't do it either. Clark fans - many of whom freely admit they really know nothing about the game because they never watched it before Clark - think the game begins and ends with Clark. Some act like Clark invented the game or that the game could never thrive without her - even though Clark is only 22 years old, while the WNBA is 30 years old, and Women's College BB is 40-50 years old. Most Clark fans act like she is BIGGER than the game itself and everybody is suppose to bow down to her like she's the Queen of England. The Clark promotion machine has driven an obsession with the rookie and her fans get upset whenever they come across anyone who is not equally on board and obsessed. The most interesting thing to watch with Clark entering the WNBA will be how her Indiana coach and teammates navigate her unprecedented umbrella of obsession. No prior rookie has entered the league as "the face" of a multi-million dollar advertising and promotional campaign because its the first of its kind in women's basketball. The Indiana team will not only get Clark the player, it will be getting all the expectations and obsession that is a by-product of her promotional campaign. Its a double-edged sword that will require a level of managerial ingenuity never required of any previous WNBA rookie. Unrealistic expectations from Clark's new-to-the-game fans will make the steering that much more challenging.

@@waldolydecker8118 But here they are getting the chance to make the WNBA viable with all these "fresh new eyes" coming to watch because of Caitlin Clark. The past is in the past - these new eyes want to see the here and now. So dissing on these "new eyes" is counterproductive don't you think? Growing the Sport NEEDS NEW EYES!

@@sulleys1929 but it's not just Clark. there are others bringing new eyes to the game. i think Clark is an awesome player, but i'm not watching women's basketball just because of Clark.

@@portlandgeek She is being called thee Transcender of the sport of WBB. The mere fact that 36 out of 40 of the Fever's games will be televised when they only had 1 last year is proof enough!

Face it people; The growth in enthusiasm to women’s BB is all about how phenomenally high Clark draws audience, joy, and money. I can imagine that veteran fud duds or those under threat might be ready to demean her and artificially promote the others who would not draw as much audience and money because their play is dour and self-centered

What she won't say is that the high-ticket sales, and the higher cost of tickets, are all because of Caitlin Clark. Hell, The Las Vegas Aces moved their game against the Indiana fever to a bigger arena just because of Clark. And she was the one that announced that 36 of the Indiana Fever's games would be telecast on major networks. Jesus. Just admit Caitlin is the reason. I wish Caitlin would just tell them all to bite her and go overseas to play because she will be appreciated there.

How can a league that has generated zero profits for its entire existance be even thinking about adding more cost?

I hope the 35 plus ladies should retire and give way to the fresh crop of ladies basketball players coming in from College. Only then will this momentous time be impactful.

A little too soft spoken to be Commissioner. Need a big personality at this point. They should get someone like cheryl miller or another bball vet to take this position

@@wisethabrain1100- sure any commissioner would support the release of an American citizen from the jails of a rogue undemocratic country. You're just upset because you are a Russian sympathizer. Unfortunately Putin has many fans like Trump and yourself in the West, something that has become a serious threat to domestic security. If you were commissioner, like a typical Russian sympathizer, you'd want players to push to FREE the Jan 6th U.S. Capitol convicted insurrectionists. Sad.
