Woman's basketball is different because there was a time when all you had to do was be recruited by UConn and you won a championship. However if I was to compare I'd say Allen Iverson is up there as the greatest of all time and he didn't win a championship.

Lynette Woodward embarrassed herself considering the league she played in (AIAW) dissolved in the 1980s. She can keep that record! Nobody watched her play and only know about her because of Caitlin Clark, now the record is broken nobody will mention her name again unless they are referencing how she embarrassed herself when her record was broken.

More on Cheryl Miller. "Still the most highly recruited male or female player ever, Miller chose the University of Southern California. There she became a four-time All-American and led the Trojans to a 112-20 record and to the NCAA title in 1983 and 1984. The back-to-back titles were an NCAA first, and she was tournament MVP both years. She won the Naismith Trophy and the Broderick Award as the nation’s best woman basketball player three times, shared the 1984 Honda Broderick Cup as the outstanding college athlete in any sport and was the Wade Trophy winner in 1985. With 3,018 points-at a time when there was no three-point line-and 1,534 rebounds scored over 128 games, she ranks 14th among the NCAA’s all-time leading scorers and still holds USC records for points, rebounds, field goals, free throws, steals and games played. In 1986, she became the first player whose jersey was retired by the university. In the international arena, Miller led the U.S. women’s basketball team to a gold medal in the 1983 Pan American Games and to another gold in the 1984 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles. In 1986, she added a gold medal at the Goodwill Games in Moscow as the U.S. team broke the Soviet Union’s 152-game winning streak." californiamuseum.org/inductee/cheryl-miller/#:~:text=She%20won%20the%20Naismith%20Trophy,Wade%20Trophy%20winner%20in%201985.

Pistol Pete Maravich set his records against men that were aggressively guarding him. Clark did it against women and there was not a lot of guarding going on.
@sixfootbear
@sixfootbear Месяц назад
Pete maravich was coached by his father and made 40 shots a game. Caitlin averages 20 shots a game. Caitlin is a woman playing against women and they try damn hard to stop her scoring. Oh and how many assists did pistol Pete make? Caitlin Clark is a once in a generation talent. She broke a points record that had stood for fifty four years!. Maravich played in games hand picked by his father. Miss Clark was not afforded the same luxury.
