Oh Julie! This helps my heart so much! I have been struggling for the last 2 years and it has only worsened since my mom passed last year and I started a study in the year she struggled with her battle with cancer before she passed and I really was afraid I had been following God in the wrong way. I thought JWs had the right idea and was so fearful I was studying wrongly until I found your testimony by Melissa Daugherty's Channel and this combined with Mike Winger's info has really helped me feel right for having my doubts in the Watchtower's teachings. I am so thankful to hear your words and I feel we are sisters! I guess we are in Christ huh?! Thank you thank you thank you for sharing these precious words and the scripture to back it all too. I will fervently continue my scripture studies and hold tight to the gift of grace!

True story, in my congregation the elders did not tell the mom that her husband was molesting her kids. My father who was an elder at the time told us about it after we left. I thought that was truly unbelievable! They had absolutely no concern to protect the kids. Their priority was to protect the name of the organization.
What an awesome testimony. She will go on to reach those still struggling with Watchtower theology. I pray God will bless her and that he will place those in need in her path so she may be used to help them escape as she has.

Julie McAllen I do understand your decision. I am cruise about one thing, now that you don’t believe in Charles Russell’s interpretation of the Bible> Who’s interpretation do you believe in? The Catholics believe in Constanttine’s, the Ministers on TV go to some collage and get a Doc. degree in religion. It was the Prophets with the Holy Spirit wrote the scripture so it stands to reason that the True Prophets would have the correct interpretations. Thanks Brian, I've met Cal at the Witnesses Now for Jesus convention in 2011 I think. And yes, I agree with you that the foundation of our faith is not based on man-made religion but rather built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Christ Jesus Himself being the corner stone (Eph 2:20) Thanks so much for the encouragement. Julie McAllen I came across your talk and Melissa Doughery’s talk in Stirring up the church I enjoyed you sharing your experiences. I too want to educate people (it’s been many years) about the JWs and also the JWs to see the real truth and not believe in Charles Russell’s interpretations of the Bible. I also have enjoyed communicating with Melissa. It will be worth it when they all come to the knowledge of Jesus.
My own mother in law called and told me she and my father in law WILL NOT BE at our wedding if I get married in a church. Mind you, I was born and raised a Catholic. That about just ruined it all. 16 years later and I’m so mad I allowed her to affect me to a point that I didn’t have the wedding I wanted, ME. I robbed my parents of their only daughters wedding. One of my biggest regrets ever. If that would’ve happened today, I would’ve gladly went along with the wedding.

Hi AtwoodOn36. I'm the lady in the video. I trust you don't want to be guilty of assuming too much and neither do I. The facts are that I have not joined any religion since leaving the Watchtower. My experience is that Christ set me free from religion. In what way did I give the impression that I am now being "used by fundies to promote their version of dogma?" Thanks Julie I have been just this morning been asked if I might share my story to a women's pray breakfast some day. The minster's wife made the request...It seems as though the masses are waking up to the fact that they have no idea what goes on with the witnesses,. There is a feeling for some education in this field, even minsters have no idea what to expect.... With that in mine we need to keep educating all the more and sharing... May God grant us the right words to explain to all who require these messages..

I’m feeling a lot of what you are speaking, i am so lost, I don’t want to serve anyone but jehovah and Jesus, I cannot take the g b or the orders that we cannot question anything no matter what they tell us, no matter how wrong, I found some g b members outright lying and I can’t say I’m shocked but I’m angry, cause this could have cost me my eternal life, I’m going to study the bi lie without the magazines, and pray as much as possible, I pray Jehovah answers me and helps untangle the mess I’m in
After you left the JWs is when the big questions come to you what is truth and what is false?? Where do I go now?? It takes time to get rid of the JWs influence. Here is one Example the JWs believe that when somebody dies they are just a memory they can't see, speak or hear. But isn't it interesting that when Jesus came to the tomb of Lazarus, Jesus called out Lazarus come forth, Lazarus did heard Jesus and did come out of the tomb. ( John 11:43-44) So yes the dead can hear See Speak,Talk. When a person dies the body goes to the grave but the spirit goes to paradise to await the resurrection. Just one of many thoughts of truth.
Hi +Julie ! LOVE your testimony! At one point in your journal....a year or so in, you said something to the effect of "Wouldn't be nice if God loved...." It reminded me of the song, "What if God was one of us?" I'm talking to a couple of Watchtower ladies and they were emphasizing 'The Divine Name' . After some thought, I emailed, asking about how the Name Jehovah lined up with verses like John 3:16-18 and Acts 4:12. The study leader emailed, saying that those verses were about Jesus who "was of divine origin." Sadly, those two verses, pretty plain in language, didn't click with her. I will continue praying for Gloria. I'm also going to use Keith Walker's points in Jesus: God's Heretic in my questions.
Pretty good! How do you NOW deal with verses like Eph 1:3 that say, "Blessed be the *God* and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ..." I'm guessing that JW's jump on verses like that with both feet; using it to vindicate their doctrine about Christ. "If JEHOVAH is Jesus' God then how can Jesus be God?" Thanks!
J Gillian Pedophile Killer You are correct, the JWs would point that out. Often times even those of us who believe that Jesus is God neglect to emphasize he was fully man as well. So I would AGREE with the JWs observation that Jehovah was indeed the God and Father of Jesus as the writing says. When Jesus came to earth, he put on flesh and submitted himself to this relationship to the glory of the Father (Philippians 2:5-11). As you know, their focus is only on the physical though having denied that an "earthly class" Witness can be born of Spirit. Therefore, it is difficult for them to think beyond that earthly realm in spiritual terms isn't it? For the JWs, Jesus remains fully man ONLY just as Saul/Paul once viewed Jesus and sought to persecute his followers. But when Paul wrote Ephesians, he was enabled to see the reality of God's kingdom which is spiritual, amen? He still viewed Jesus as fully man but also fully God for Paul also was given the insight that Jesus existed "in the form of God" or very nature of God before coming to earth (Phil 2:6). Like the JWs, Paul could not reason on that nor even see it prior to being born of Spirit. Jesus was merely a man until Paul received revelation through God's Spirit just as he admitted in 1 Corinthians 2:14 that a natural man does not accept the things of the Spirit of God. So I would not even expect a JW to be able to reason that Jesus is God. For them, the Bible is not a living word, but black and white letters on a page written only to the 144,000 and then interpretted for them through the Governing Body. And the GB ensures that they can only reason from an earthly perspective therefore words like "Father and son" mean the same as they do in our earthly relationships -- two separate entities ONLY. They limit their understanding because JWs are trained to follow their leaders only and not the Spirit because they're told they can not be born of God's Spirit, indwelt by Him, nor receive anything from Him. That's the real issue.
Thanks, Julie! That does help!!! *Question* : Is there any way to show them WHO the REAL Jesus is, in FULL? A JW friend told me that we can HOPE for eternal life, but not know for sure. I knew that wasn't true, but before I could offer a reply, we got back on the topic we started on. .... This was a few months back. Gloria's had health issues so we haven't done any 'studying' in a while. Should I broach the subject of 1 John 5:10-13? Thanks so much for your help and advice.
Hi again. I would love to hear your discussion of 1 John 5:10-13 with your JW friend. The NWT even uses the present tense of life everlasting. But your point is about having the witness within for the one who puts their faith in Jesus. It's an excellent passage to discuss. Remember, the JWs do believe in Jesus, but not that He can indwell them or that they already possess life everlasting. It is something to be earned and may not be obtained even after years of dedicated service in the organization. So what witness is being spoken of in this passage? I would be curious as to how a JW would respond. My guess is that your friend may go the route of saying it refers to the 144,000 who have the witness born to them that they are led by God's spirit and indeed sons of God enabling only them to cry out "Abba Father!" (Romans 8:14-17) The JWs will speak of that witness given to the anointed 144,000 only. That is why your friend said she can only HOPE for eternal life and knows she has no witness of it in her.

He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live. And whoever lives and believes in Me shall never die. Do you believe this?” She said to Him, “Yes, Lord, I believe that You are the Christ, the Son of God, who is to come into the world.”

It was really helpful to me to listen to other XJW testimonies, so I'm happy mine is on the web if it helps another struggling their way out. My conclusion is also fulfilled. I'm a 70 AD done deal kinda gal now da duke.
I am glad you were able to leave the JW and still kept your faith in Jesus. You mention you had little knowledge of the bible when you first started studying with the JWs. You were defiantly the ones they look for. The JW say they believe in the Bible but actually the believe in Charles Russell's interpretation of the Bible. I can give you a list of scriptures of what the Bible says where the JW believe the opposite. The 144000 are not called until the six seal is opened (Matt 24:14, 21, 31, Rev 6:12) (Rev 6:12 Matt:24: 27,29 Luke 21:25 Rev 7:4) The 144000 are called to live through the terrible time on earth. You are right that the JW are wrong that the 144000 are the only ones to take the bread and wine( Lords evening meal) every one that wants the Atonement of Jesus and have enter into a covenant of baptism to remember him and keep his commandment can partake of these emblems.
