This was such a huge song at the time, it captured the funk and the soul and the groove of everything going on and the rock of it. But it also captured all the strife going on with the Vietnam War and the civil rights movement and assassinations right and left and all of that. And then of course it referenced quite a bit of history and then ultimately the Bible. That was such a heartfelt reaction, I really appreciated it.
You got this right out of the gate...of, course, you guessed the name is the devil. I've seen almost all other reactors to this song having no idea what the song is about...but you got it right away, girl. I am impressed.
But why don't other reactors guess his name right away? The answer's in the title of the song, for goodness sake! "Sympathy for the Devil". How can some people be so dumb?!!!
Woo, Woo, Pleased to meet u...Hey Sis, Get it grl. This great and complex song was a meditation on the battle between good and evil. The band was accused of devil worship, but its more about the darker nature of man than celebrating the devil. Great song, many great memories. Thanx darlin', take care, peace
Check out the Altamont version - which may be my favorite music video ever. At 6:50 is "Rob Reacts" talking to Mick. at 2:14 is what I think FairyGrl would have looked like (blonde girl with glasses.)
Thats a great live version and yeah kinda close with the grl at 2:14. Just with braided pig tails, roach clip with feather or daisies hanging from hair, halter top or tank, hip huggers with bell bottoms, and flip-flops. Hahaha, ahhh, the good ol' days. Tag, Take care, Peace @@ThePelagicHermit
The devil is basically saying of all the sins he has done, man is not that innocent either, man has conspired with me, and has done far worse things, so please have some sympathy on me...
Love you Bestie❤I got to see the Rolling Stones in 2003 at a relief concert for SARS in Toronto. They're were 500,000. People in attendece it was Epic in was a festival for the ages. That was sadly my last concert😢❤
If you want to see these boys in their prime do this song, search Rolling Stones Rock And Roll Circus. It’s from when they were in their early twenties, if you’re thirsty..
@@kshavon3098We had a mix up of some kind. The Rock and Roll Circus performance was the one I tried to request. Still worth doing though. We are not sure what K will think of Mick. It would be fun to find out.
Ah The Rolling Stones… the foundation of my taste in rock and roll music and my Dad’s all time favorite band besides Aerosmith. This is a good introduction to their music and it fits their style of being the bad boys of the rock genre. I saw them in concert a long time ago at 15 years old and it was an amazing experience I’ll never forget 🙂 they have a lot of great songs that’s almost impossible to list off but some suggestions: Wild Horses I’m Free Gimme Shelter Start Me Up Satisfaction Paint it Black Miss You
You got so much good energy! Loving your reactions. You gotta check out Oasis "Wonderwall" those white English boys became one of the biggest bands around in the mid 90's. much love and looking forward to more fun reactions!
Yeah this is the jam right here sympathy for the devil by The rolling Stones yeah you're listening to a really good track I like damn near all the rolling Stones music 👍🥁 and you know the funny thing about this song it definitely relates to a lot of the things that are going on now and 2024 and before 💯🔥😈🔥
I'm going to suggest Kate Bush -- so many incredible songs, but she's my favorite artist of all times. Just a few names: Wuthering Heights, Army Dreamers, Running Up That Hill, Hounds of Love, A Woman's Work (Maxwell covered this)
You need to find the video when it was the 60's and he had the motorcycle 🏍 gang, Hell's angels be his security for a concert. Mick Jagger had a cape on singing and it was chaos. He said in an interview every time he sings that song...... Weird things would happen.
It is called the Altamont version. Probably the best video ever. A tremendous glimpse of a slice of history. Every character is fascinating. And the extra funky rhythm is a real treat.
Like," I will be nice to you as long as you are doing what you are told, with a little taste..." greeting uncle Lucifer... Hiillarious! How the fuck could someone just dream up these lyrics😂? Great reaction to this video girl! Keep on going! Greetings from Jonas, Gothenburg Sweden. Take care. Stay safe. Big hugs.
You look amazing! , Great reaction! DOOBIE BROTHERS!! "It Keeps You Runnin " or "What a Fool Believes" Youll love these songs! You have to react to the live versions. Michael McDonald is mucu, much better live! Please, please, please try these awesome songs! I guarantee youll love them!!
The devil is not a person, the devil resides in each of us, the lyrics try to point that out. Its not a devil worship song, its the reality we live within..
This is taken from the novel by Bulgarkhov, "The Master and Margherita', banned by Stalin. The idea is that Satan, despite his desire to reject God and move out from Heaven, cannot find an identity and purpose unless God wills it. Thus, his rage and frustration at being darkness, which is dependent on the absence of light ie God. In other words, God created him as a villain he never wanted to be. Have sympathy.
When you think about it, white working class Brits played an amazing trick. All that African-American music that wasn't getting airtime stateside because of racism, was embraced by us. Not relating to the boring wartime music of their parents, those kids lived and breathed blues, soul and R&B since before they could walk, learned to play it, then we came to America to make it cool, and unlike say, Elvis, made damn sure the originators got their platforms and recognition as well. Those British Invasion bands changed music forever.
Most follow Satan & Not Jesus Christ... Even the believers in Christ as full payment for their sins. That's why Paul wrote work out your salvation with fear and trembling... First off He said "Work out" not for because once we put our faith in Christ finished work we are saved till the day of redemption aka rapture... But it will be a fearful thing to stand in front of God which knows everything about you & all the opportunities we had to live for him and see others saved and yet we chose satan and the world.....
