It would be great to live on a planet free of nuclear weapons. But the reality is that monster has already been uncaged, and I would argue that you can't put it back in its cage because everyone would have to agree to get rid of them. And what are the chances of that? So it's almost pointless to argue about that subject.

They didnt simply drop nukes on Japan to end the war quicker - Japanese were already very aware that the war was lost. They dropped it to see the results and they dropped it to send the USSR a message. People also should also know what happened with all the Marshall islands testing - lots of indigenous island people had their lives destroyed because of they wanted to test the effects of fall out on folks.
