Wode Maya joins us as we talk about his journey. He has a fascinating journey from going to school in China with no money, to his becoming arguably one of Africa's most influential RU-vidrs. @WODEMAYA
What you mean his dad smiling in heaven?, there are three heavens, so which be specific? As a people we do not read for ourselves we just adopt what others say and run with it. My people are destroyed because of lack of knowledge, because though hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that though hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children.(Hosea 4:6).
Wode Maya is right. The western media hasn't done Africa any justice. I went to Ghana and Rwanda in February 2024, and I was so at peace especially in Rwanda. Only God can describe my feeling.
Hey my brodda Asafa I am a fellow Jamaican living in the US these are reason why they are making it hard for us indigenous people to travel to other countries especially to the countries where other indigenous people live is because the powers that be have to keep us apart from each other so we don’t come together collectively as a people and unite they know that if we are unite and become a cohesive unit we will be a force to be recon with and be more powerful than an other people here they know who we are it’s time for us to know who we are.
Facts. That is it. For the more they divide the more they control and stronghold. But no matter what, look how people are uniting and coming together in truth and unity to strengthen our lives and unite us as we all understand the importance of knowledge
I’m so happy to see you both connect with Wodemaya and Miss Trudy. I was one of the Jamaicans on his page several years ago telling him to come visit JA and the rest of the Diaspora. But, seriously, we need to talk with governments about the obstacles people from Africa and the Caribbean face when traveling between countries. People from North America and Europe travel the globe 🌍 with ease.
That was a good advice, he has shown us Jamaica 🇯🇲 some of us don't know. I know some Jamaicans in London but non of them made known that they have a very nice country.
Wode, first I am learning of your life's troubles, in spite of everything you have triumphed, your destiny will not be denied. Thanks to Asafa and wife for hosting you both in Jamaica, just love watching your vlogs from the continent, though I first watched you vlogging from China and was very pleased with your mastery of the mandarin twang(language) Keep going Wode, you have got lots more to conquer. Bless
Nice conversation, I enjoyed immensely ❤❤❤. Welcome Wode Maya and his beautiful wife. Asafa and Allyshia, yuh dun know how d ting guh! Nothing but love ❤❤❤😊
Thank you for introducing Wode Maya. Love him and his wife spirit. Thanks for sharing you story Wode Maya and for show casing Jamaica in a positive light despite. Blessings!
Great, great, great ... no words are needed. True determination, wit and wisdom. This vlog was full on so many levels, funny, inspiring, and eye opening. I would have never thought, or imagine blacks in " black countries" are being racist in this age, even in the Caribbean. It shows there is much to be done to opening peoples eyes and perspectives and highlighting truth, and oneness in humanity regardless of our place of birth, and the color of our skin, eyes etc... Great job Mr and Mrs Powell.
Excellent reasoning because it wasn't really an interview it was friends talking which is even better and give thanks to Wode Maya for is incite into life he is a great inspiration for someone so young; he is a credit to his father and he would be very proud of where his vision has taken him and on how it has made him grow as a MAN. Asafa and Alyshia you guys are like relationship goals. You don't make it all look perfect as a family and a couple you show the real deal as much as you possibly can, that is why you have so much respect. ❤
Wow fell in love with the Powells today, Alysha… what a beauty you are… shining from the inside out. Jamaican girl here 🇯🇲, married to an African and I must say we are all ONE people. Loved this video
Wode Maya, we don't have to understand my brother 😢so don't cry. You are sooooo inspirational, and you allow us to keep our future alive and not lose ourselves. Keep God in your life and always allow Him to LEAD YOU. Listen to His soft but still guiding voice. We love you out here and miss Trudy, too. I can't wait to meet you one day. Come to Ft. Lauderdale Fla. soon❤❤😂❤
Love this interview with Wode Maya. He is such a fun and knowledgeable guy and I hope he will return for future visits. You guys were very hospitable to him and his team. Blessings, guys.❤🙏
What a beautiful podcast I thinkWodemaya opened our eyes to the similarities that the Caribbean and Africa has. As usual the Powells show the real beauty of being in their natural element Keep the love flowing Love it ❤❤❤
Guys I really enjoy this episode Wode Maya when through a lot and still smiling Alyshia and Asafa you guys come back with a bang can't wait to see who else you have in store for us👏👏
I started my channel using my tablet. My friend brought me a microphone and ring light. Then I saved and brought a phone that my mic didn't work with😅. I recently got a microphone and upgrade my lighting. We youtubers know the struggle. I hope to upgrade to a camera and computer one day. I am so proud of my African brothers you keep going. Thanks, Powells, for a well-done interview.
Wode Maya is a great guy. I am one of his subscribers, I came across his channel recently and never missed any of his videos since. He is so humble also his wife. Glad he eventually came to Jamaica and liked our country so much. Thank you for highlighting our country so well. Great video again, Asafa
This was a really, really nice video. WM is an interesting guy, for sure. I love what he does on uniting Africa and Africans (as in people of African descent) around the world. He's straightforward and I like that. I think his dad would be so, so proud of him, but this is just the beginning. I feel like he is going to go huge and I hope that when (not if) he does, he stays the same, humble guy he's always been. Btw, I love it when Alysha's Ghanaian accent comes out. And I really LOVED her "I am Alysha" comment - absolutely perfect. I really can't wait for the video with Ms Trudy. Well done, everyone. Fantastic work! 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
Greetings Sir Powell, I would love to meet you when I get back home. You greatly appreciated for your humility and making us proud as a nation. Thanks again.
Hello Asafa and Alyshia. I have enjoyed this episode so very much, I was laughing all throughout the video. So entertaining and deep too. Wodehouse Maya is a special person. He's very interesting and focused. Really good video 📹 👌 👏 👍
"I'm also Alysha" - I love that comment❤❤ - no apologies for tuning your own horn, cos girrll, you bring so much value to the table!!!❤❤ - Stay blessed 🙏
I am watching this podcast by the powells when i am in my darkest time, asking God if this was it! If he will complete what he started yet the bible says God will complete it. I have hope now...
Wode Maya is wise. Love is an emotion ad that alone cannot sustain a marriage in long term. Having something that draws you to your spouse or brings a spark in you is the way to go. That is why some say marry your friend in that case when the ‘lovey dovey’ feeling goes down something that cannot be broken holds you together that is true love and friendship. Married for a decade and half and l can say you need more than mere love to stay in marriage.
I love, love, love this video!!❤ I want to apologize to Wode Maya, Ms Trudy and the screw for the discrimination against them in the Caribbean countries and other countries. I watched most of their videos while in Jamaica. I also wanted to thank each one of you for showing our beautiful island of Jamaica to the world. Thank you!! ❤🇯🇲❤️
Asafa, I’m going to reluctantly agree with you that time. Alysha was really loading that question (out of excitement) which would make it hard for Wode to answer. 😁
Nice conversation. One love to our humble brother Powell and his beautiful princess, thank you for always welcome your brother Maya at your home, you're wonderful Africa Jamaican. Maya your father was a great father may his soul rest in perfect peace. Big up yourself who Jah blessed no one curse.🙏🇬🇭🦁
Very interesting interview! People don't be shocked they got treated that way in the black country because Europe creates that kind of mindset in us. That's why we treat each other the way we do.
Guys very well done this interview was 👊🏾 So great seeing authentic connection. We have so much to offer each other. Wode Maya salute you the more I know and learn the more respect I gain for you. Asafa big up, great transition from track. Spouses are all on fire and 👍🏾. You all reppin a hundred.💯💯💯🖤🖤🖤
Asafa your question you asked was great and right time for me to smile. Bro has daughter in Switzerland she's almost a yr old and after 9 months my brother has got his visa. So we always say why is it always hard for us Africans to travel? And the answer is it only African that faces travel difficulties period
Wodemaya being watching your videos since 2020. Thanks for showing us “Africa to the world”and other countries n culture. An yes, because of you I made my 1st trip to Ghana this year. 2024. God bless you and your wife Ms. Trudy. and Beautiful wedding.
Hello Big brother. I hust subscribed after listerning to WodeMaya Interview.I am a big fan of WodeMaya. Thanks for a lovely Video. From South Africa 🇿🇦 ❤.
The powers that be do not want black people to unite, that is the main reason for making it hard for Africans to travel. Also they want you to believe that Africa is a desolate place and that it is one of the largest continent with metropolitan cites and suburbs as well.
Exactly that. I just said a similar thing. The more we unite and understand each other, the stronger we become together and they definitely don't want us strong.
You mean the travel restrictions? 100% the west (esp US) is behind it, dictating to our countries who it is permissable to allow in and what direct links our countries can have with each other. We need to get together to overcome this. Unity = strength.
Wow, Wode Maya. What your father has deposited in you, what he did to set you on the path of your purpose... That is the greatest work a man can do. I know he is well pleased
