I first time listened this Gazal in movie Dedh Ishqia. Then I searched it on RU-vid and found the original singer Begum Akhtar. From that day I started to listen this sweet voice with full of pain and love. Begum Akhtar Sahiba became my favourite Gazal Singer.

Yes, I do remember, how I as a kid saw my father listen to Begum Akhtar every evening with a drink in his hand during 1970s and 80s. He is no more. Begum Akhtar's voice brings those memories rushing back. Sad and painful but thanks to Saregama for preserving the voice of Begum Akhtar and my memories.

I used to love her voice and" gayeki " Later I happened to read her biography.... And I also have grown up... So I understood... That durd-e-muhobbat aur intezaar.... In her voice.... The first time I noticed or may say heard of Begum sahiba on TV in the movie/documentary on her biography, I developed a nostalgic feel watching her tragic life and listening to her voice mesmerised me. And to this day listening her singing fills some vacuum. A legend, greater than any singer on earth..
