The Agatha Christie story, Murder is Easy has received the woke treatment from the BBC. The screenwriter Sian Ejlwunm-Le Berre said that she wanted the drama about murders in a English village, to reflect the experience of black immigrants in the UK. I remember reading the novel years ago and it certainly was not about the experience of black immigrants.

Can they not see it's not just about the "cherry picking" as everything that was once funny or entertaining is now a diatribe about green issues, gender politics, race, disability, Brexit, berating middle aged straight people. Everything that was once for entertainment is now being bastardised to push a message. It's exhausting.

I cannot relax and watch BBC anyone. Same as commercials. It's just in my face all the time.

No, I'm sorry but there has been a consistent and very apparent bias within the BBC for years, the level of over-the-top message-driven entertainment at the expense of the show. Instead of subtly incorporating the odd message it is a constant barrage where even my children have begun to recognize it. Race-swapping historical figures, and changing established continuity DR WHO is a perfect example of rubbishing a good show for the so-called modern audience that doesn't care about it. The BBC needs to move to a subscription service with the public paying a 1 off charge of say £15.00 a year per household for the rights to watch anything live.

Inform, Educate and Entertain can't hold a candle to Indoctrinate.

If you're still paying the licence fee when it is 100% legal to stop watching broadcast TV and not pay it, you’re part of the problem.

Mainstream TV and BBC in particular, are a great incentive to listen to music or get into a good book. Both are far more rewarding and pleasurable than getting mad at daft, lefty, woke non entertainment. No license required either. Once winter is over, watching your lawn grow is far more enjoyable as well.

I'm a middle aged man, have been watching Dr Who all my life, the Xmas special was the first time I've turned off mid show, who thought this rubbish would be entertaining!

As a foreigner watching Shetland, Vera etc, I'd think ethnic minorities made up half the population of Northumberland or Shetland, instead of the reality that they’re less than 1%.

This organisation would have been resigned to history years ago but for the immoral licence fee, they are a national disgrace and need to stand on their own left feet to survive and not take their pieces of eight from the public the majority of whom they despise and fail to represent. A fact that Woke must know,Lebanon was once the most beautiful country in the Middle East. It was a country established as a haven for Christians. The BBC seems to have at least one drag act on just about every celebrity quiz show these days - it's a real turn-off. Just recently we've had them in Richard Osman's House of Games, Pointless Celebrities, The Weakest Link and Celebrity Mastermind and as they only make up about 2% of the world population, (although the entertainment industry does seem to attract more than its fair share of them), quite frankly I've had enough of it.

I switched on the TV this morning while I was having my breakfast cereal, it was a BBC1 - CBeebies panto about Robin Hood, and apparently Robin Hood was black ! , you could have knocked me down with a feather, when I was growing up in the sixties they always showed him as a white man.

I've been a Doctor Who fan since Jon Pertwee and a big fan of Agatha Christie's work almost as long. I don't watch either of them now. Why is the BBC so obsessed with shoehorning gays, poc, trans, etc into these shows and others? If they want more roles for these characters then write original work. Or is that too difficult?

We should be asking why the government are doing nothing about the BBC.

Been a Dr Who fan since forever (im the same age as the series), but What a load of bollox its turning in to. Song and dance numbers!!!! Really? Its so bloody obvious that they are trying waaaay to hard to please a small minority. I haven't had a TV licence since the BBC told children there are 100 genders. I don't miss it my TV at all.

The need for a national broadcaster is a relic of a bygone age. There is so much informative and educational content on Internet why do we need the BBC. I don't watch broadcast TV anymore I watch catch-up when I choose.

Absolutely agree. I've had enough! Ruined Dr Who, and they just massacred the Agatha Christie Christmas treat I was looking forward to. Completely ruined the whole story and the feel of the era with the ethnic casting in a 1950s English village that was completely out of place, because they wanted to plug diversity and colonial issues. Have black and other ethnic leads in tv series by all means, but in the modern era where it is entirely possible doesn't look so out of place culturally and historically that you cant ignore it. So sick of all the LGBTQ+++ as well. ITV ruined the new version of Darling Buds of May doing exactly the same thing. License finally being cancelled now. Been patient but I'm done.

I was down to watching just University Challenge and Only Connect. Then the former got Amol Rajan in and tbe latter had a series of transgender guests and idiotic woke questions. So now nothing. BBC radio became unlistenable five years ago.

There were a couple of good things on the Beeb over Christmas. The "Dads Army" repeats. They're only 50 years old, but still very diverse. There were some Englishmen, Scotsmen, Welshmen, and a gay vicar.

100%. My family love David Tenant as Dr Who, we turned over at the point when Dr Who was addressing the Furby type character asking it “what it’s pronoun is” we immediately turned over. We are sick to death of having this crap shoved down the publics throat. It was so disappointing after the female playing Dr Who in the last series was so bad, we had stopped watching it then. As it stands NOW ( with the Tories) inheritance tax ONLY effects 4% of the population ( that’s because people NOW can give assets up £1M tax free) Labour’s policy is to abolish this £1M tax free threshold and make people pay inheritance tax on all assets affecting 100% of the population (so if your house is worth £600,000 your children will have to give Keir the thief 40% or £240,000. Absolutely correct, I watched 1 episode of the recent Dr Who specials, a programme I have enjoyed and followed since childhood. I tried my best to continue but I had to switch off, it was so obviously trying to shove current minority agendas down our throat, it was so fake and obvious it was embarrassing, actually insulting, completely distracted the viewer from the storyline which was then weakened.

I stopped complaining and just didn't renew the TV licence - years ago. Even outside of the endless agendas, there's nothing of any quality or interest in the BBC output. It's rubbish - find something better to do with your time and money (read, write, hike, go out with friends, join a choir, anything). I've never missed the BBC once. They are not listening to complaints for the simple reason they think they know better - they hold people in contempt (much like other institutions). Rootless and fruitless, they will disappear when you disappear.

Disney has bought heavily into the Doctor WHO series and intends showing the series world wide on its streaming and other channels. They will have an input no doubt into the content of scripts I wonder. For those who know nothing of the Woke, Left leaning agenda of Disney can I suggest you Google journalist Karol Markowicz who wrote a telling article in the New York Post, (online) titled "Im Quitting Disney after seeing it Boast about Pushing Gender Theory". Disney has invested heavily into the LGBTQ+ Ideology, pushing its Trans agenda in its film and cartoon series where it can. I can understand the Woke Left leaning BBC feeling very comfortable linking up with Disney to push its Doctor WHO series worldwide.

If they want to “reach all audiences” then they should put on NEW shows for those audiences, not ABSOLUTELY RUIN beloved existing shows like Doctor Who. Doing that lets them hook their agenda into an existing loyal viewer base so that they can point to it and say “look, all these people watched”. That is disingenuous in the extreme. The fact that Doctor Who has lost almost 2/3 of its viewer base due to it and they’re doubling down on it rather than fixing it baffles me.

I've watched Dr Who for over 50 years. It's pathetic now. Starting with having the female Dr Who. He's over a 1,000 years old and has never been a woman. Then she goes to some space ship and there is a MAN giving birth to a baby. Don't forget to have someone in a wheel chair (yes, it does happen in real life, but this is pandering), the new Black Dr and what else will there be this upcoming season? The bbc should not have a monopoly over all live broadcasts, that is the only reason thousands if not hundreds of thousands have not stopped paying for blackmail by law licence, exactly why is it allowed a monopoly when no other companyin the U.K. is ?

I stopped watching BBC when they went on and on about how stupid Brexit was and how thick you had to be. Maybe they were, I'm not British, but they represented more of half of the voters, some of them (probably most) licence fee payers.

I have never owned a TV and only ever watched on other peoples' sets. The BBC made many great programmes but so many of those I see now have deteriorated over the years and are barely watchable because they're all 'on message'. I had to endure Countryfile over Christmas and that seemed as though it had been made for children.

The Abc in Australia is exactly the same . Their TV and radio viewership figures plummet yet we are still forced to pay for an organization that shows utter contempt for at least half the population
