I'm so glad I discovered this band a couple of months ago. Can't believe I didn't know about them sooner. They're easily the most exciting British band in years. Along with Radiohead and Damon Albarn they're helping me keep sane.
@@DapperZach cut his thumb playing lisbon. The video is on youtube, it's about a minute in you can see him rip his hand away from the guitar then blood starts trickling down. Played on though, what a guy.
i hoped and prayed that this great GREAT band would come within 300 miles from my Lake Michigan area residence this summer. Its probably a good thing though cause im a 6’5” 210 in shape man that hadnt cried since my grandpa died 28 years ago…..until i discovered Wolf Alice. A band has to be SOMETHING TRULY SPECIAL to choke me up every damn day.
It’s a much different song when played live, but I like it. The vocals don’t reach the same dramatic cathartic crescendo on the third chorus as the studio recording, but the live version feels more intense and introspective.
hahahahahahaa. waste of a guitar. shit flat band no movement. try the neville brothers if you want a good band. this is karaoke, backing tracks. been to loads of gigs. this would disappoint. might aswell listen to the radio edit. flat for a live performance. no movement. forced voice been done before. just a minor hang up pmsl
31 people don't understand Wolf Alice or really listen to them. One of the most brilliant bands in the 2010's. Too much good to say about them to post in this little space.
For people who say that she's not a good singer - Ellie is kinda shy and some of her performances show it, there was a big crowd and this show is one of their most important and recognizable ones, maybe she got stressed because it was that important
You guys have any idea how to get Joff's guitar tone he has in Silk? It's crystal clear while still loud, but not overdriven? Maybe a right compressor? I love it so much :)
sounds like he has some kind of modulation on it, like a harmony type effect as well as a kind of slap back delay. The loudness/clarity could also be down to the mixing of the recording and the sound engineer at glasto
come to Mexico. life is great drugs and living is cheap/ $1.50 a gram of each. plus the crystal is banging. fuck government handcuffs. methadone cost Hitler the Russian front. stops the cluck but makes you lazy and subservient. exactly how the government want you. Heroin. Yum my love. now the colombians have lent their chemists to mexico now they are concentrating purely on cocaine. so Mexican is white brick. none of that black tar, maybe off your own plants. weed. heron heaven
I think it’s about not being satisfied with your life and not knowing what is life’s purpose, but still carrying on cause that’s what you have been told to do, even if you have to take pills when you don’t want to (antidepressants for instance) etc. That’s my interpretation tho, maybe I’m wrong but that’s what is beautiful about art, maybe it means something to me and something completely different to you.
I took the song to mean self actualizing but going through some hard times in the process...life is constantly a battle, theres always various stressors to keep us growing and evolving, but some people may have a tougher mountain to climb, whether life/ trauma/ circumstances, or just some mistakes are made. But this song is a excellent synopsis of all of those factors or how the individual artist intended, etc.
