Free Guide for humfree guitar rig wiring! www.prostage.eu... Wolf Hoffmann talking about his guitar rig, using the Prostage XDS Loop System and 2x X05 Foot Controller.
A genius guitarist with the most heart touching solos in the entire metal scene. He is the reason there is only one tattoo in my body and that is the logo of this band.
It is great to actually hear Wolf talk. His English is really good. Wolf is an influence, one of my guitar heroes I modeled my metal sound after ( or tried to, anyway). He and Jorg had this great, raw buzz saw sound back in the 80s.
That's why I like European bands. Imagine an American band singing German, Swedish, Finnish, etc. Obviously it's for the market but Europeans have to write and sing songs in their second language and still very native sounding.
Big fan of Wolf Hoffmann. His pedal setup is very interesting but I would have loved to have seen more detail on what pedals he's using, as well as some detail into what kind of amp he uses. Only saying this because IMHO he has the best tone of any metal guitarist out there.
Been listening since Restless & Wild & Saw them in 1985 on the Metal Heart tour & went to a Wendy's drive through after the show & all of the sudden their tour bus pulls in. Met Udo & Peter for a minute & just got a thumbs up from Wolf as he walked back to the bus. It was after 11:00 pm & they wouldn't let anyone inside the restaurant . Awesome show !!!!!!!!
The big pedal on the bottom left is an Eventide Time Factor. The one on the bottom right is either a Boss NS-2. The upper-most one is an ISP Decimator. The big blue pedal is an Analogman Chorus. Not too sure on the 2 other ones.
Restless and Wild album, last song, "Princess Of The Dawn." That entire album is perhaps one of the best in metal. It thrashes and headbangs and chug-chug-chugs its way to Glory. Classic.
Wolf´s Mutron Octave Divider is replaced by Salvation Mods Vivider pedal. This pedal was designed directly for Wolf, specifically to replace and improve upon his Mutron Octave Divider. It uses the same circuitry, but it is in smaller package, with true bypass and compatible with common 9V power supply (built in voltage pump).
I saw them in 1985 on the tour for Metal Heart. & talked to Udo & Peter & got the thumbs up from Wolf when he was going on there bus. I would have loved to talk to him for a minute.
In what part of the world is Wolf underrated? James Hetfield cites him as the reason why he in the beginning of Metallica only played white flying vs. Even Jeff waters says he is a fan. The whole world knows that Wolf is the Godfather of heavy metal riffing.
No that would be Toni Iommi of black Sabbath ! Another great player & uses a flying V is Michael Shenker ! Listen to the 2012 live Rock Bottom as it has a very long guitar solo ! If your not familiar with Michael Shenker he was the one who started the Scorpions with his brother stepping in then some years later quit & went solo & he used to say that when playing in front of a audience he was scared as hell & could hardly take it & one way to over come his fear was to drink heavily which nearly killed him until he quit all together drinking & touring but has made a come back again sober & good as ever .
@@peteloomis8456 you're carrying coals to Newcastle when you're trying to convince me of msg. ;-) Of course you don't know me and thus can't know that I'm an old fart that listened to scorpions in the mid 70s already. And I really do appreciate your recommendation. cheers brother!
A great band.i was a fan since way back, balls to walls, fast as a shark, princess of the dawn,so on.now I love the new album, love the video very cool.i wish they would play in florida.that would be great.you would sell out quick and pack a stadium.we go back a long time.when all the new fans were in diaper s.that is why so many new fans weren't aware of a very strong fallowing.you can't contoll who we love.and what we already knew.that is why old fans are called, old school.thanks🎉😁👽💡👍🌟🤪🎉🤘
Wolf I am humbled because I have never heard in my ear a tone that drives me more than the tone on BALLS TO THE WALL. Off the studio album I can not decifer EL34 or 6L6. Back in the day I was running a Boogie mark 111 and still couldn't pull of the gain and low end at the same time. I have nothing to offer but if you could get me started on that old baseline tone I would appreciate it.
A lot more reverb than I would have thought. Wolf has a great tone, just as good as Billy Gibbons of ZZ Top. Maybe even better tone. I bought the Bogner La Grange to try and emulate that similar tone. It's not as easy as it sounds.
Anyone know what those pedals are he shows in his rig? The white one looks like something from Ibenez or DOD, but the video quality is so grainy, I can't make them out.
Marshall JCM 800 heads + Treble boost with a full volume. Guitars with EMG81+ SA pick ups. Some delays, flanger and octaver. ..and his passion of Heavy Metal which is the most important thing in the whole thing 🤘
I shot a picture of the setlist Wolf had in front of him last Saturday. I guess the numbers next to the song are the settings for the effect combinations of each song. hxxp://imageshack.us/a/img254/3606/setlist.jpg
Don't fool yourselves. The greatest are playing on Wizard. They are the best amps and are hand made. I'd say you can get one for 4300$ mini (without a cab). The rest, like he said, is decoration for sponsoring.
